We interrupt our regularly-scheduled bitch session about Pro Bowl selections for this important bulletin:

ANDRE JOHNSON GETS IT. His uncle does, too:

"I figure, Andre (Johnson)'s very fortunate, and why put a limit on something that you can do for kids that you can put a smile on their face, kids probably wouldn't have gotten anything for Christmas?" Melton said. "You wind up letting them go into the store and get anything that they want. What better way can you have Christmas?

"I remember my Christmases, maybe I got one thing for Christmas, maybe two, if that. But for these kids to come in and get what they want, that makes me feel real proud of what he's doing."

And from the mouth of jolly old St. 'Dre:

Johnson smiled when asked about the big bill, then explained why it didn't bother him in the slightest.

"I'm not worried about that," Johnson said. "I'm blessed to be in the situation I am, and I'm very blessed to be able to bless other people. So that's alright with me. I hope they got everything that they wanted."

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: Screw the franchise's record. It's easy to be a fan of the Houston Texans.

Let's see.....the choice is between this, makin' it rain, gun charges, and stabbing people.

Tough decision on who to support.

We can be critical of the draft picks, but in the end we always support the new Texan.

I'll toast to that

If the most egregious thing we can point to is Mario exercising a bit of youthful indiscretion and driving too (WAY TOO) fast... then I think it could be a lot worse. I'm glad McNair focuses on character. I didn't always understand it - but I do now, when I can be proud of my team in every facet of LIFE... not just the game of football.

Dre is the man.

Tell me again why I follow sports?
