BREAKING NEWS: Texans Sign Will Demps
We knew that Smithiak had to do something to address the depth at safety after the losses of Jason Simmons and Glenn Earl. So they went out and signed a guy who posted 100 tackles last season. Not too shabby an addition for a street free agent, huh? Demps is coming off an elbow injury, which would seem to explain why he was still looking for a job after reaching an injury settlement with the Giants a few days ago.
Like Michael Boulware, Demps will have to learn on the fly. But Texans fans should breathe a little easier now that there's one more apparently legitimate option at the safety positions.

Pay attention folks
It's not a blockbuster deal, but it's a damn solid move at a time when one is needed. In my mind, it's all about making the best decision at that time. This is how you build good teams over the years.
Nice
Casserlypers is a good combination of names, but it doesn't quite convey the amount of ineptitude that we had to suffer through, in my opinion. I like Crapasserly.
Also, a few weeks back, during the height of the "Why is Mario sucking?" debate, I heard Charlie Pallilo on 790AM tell everyone to stop blaming Casserly for that pick, that it was Kubiak's decision.
Correction made
Yeah, I usually listen to CP during the afternoon drive home. For the most part, he uses a large amount of common sense. On the radio. Weird, huh? He's like the anti-Andre Ware.
I didn't hear that particular conversation, but it doesn't surprise me in the least. At the time, Kubes was planning to keep/develop Samson, so that took Jesus in Cleats out of the equation....and He Who Shall be Beaten with his own Leg (yep, way to long of a nickname) wasn't seen as a 1-cut runner, so he didn't fit the scheme. Well that, and he's one snap away from a career-ending knee injury.
