Mario Williams
is heating up. I think we’ll see more disruption from him. (Please for the love of god)
I don't care how ugly it is
We must win.

Lord almighty
I’m a Schaub guy. I really am. I want this guy to continue to play the way he knows he can. Mistakes are going to happen. He’s not a fucking robot.. right? I want him to find his zone and work to it. We need a better redzone scheme in the second half. We’ve been moving the ball with excellent consistency, we just need the ball to cross the goal line.
Expect some half time adjustments offensively… I fully expect the Texans to outscore the Dolphins in the second half.

Okay - now it's time for a smoke.
Go Texans.

Agreed
Problem is – week in and week out – the coaches have given us NO reason to believe that they will be the POSITIVE difference in the game, as far as in-game and halftime adjustments.

i think we need to sign a vet qb to at least light a fire under schaub.
if having sage put together a game where he could have taken schaubs job, then have schaub come out and play like this…… its CRAP. and i like schaub, but he way too inconsisant
when will the losing end? THIS WEEK!!!!!!!
I thought it was pretty accurate.
His head was across the line, but he had the ball tucked into his body. At least that’s what I saw.
by Tailgate Andy on Oct 12, 2008 1:39 PM CDT up reply actions
No doubt. Looked like he got it.
Also, DeMeco missed a tackle on that series… ugh!
by HoustonDiehards on Oct 12, 2008 1:39 PM CDT up reply actions
That was awesome.
I love it when DB’s (on the other team) fall down. Of course, he sat #24 down like a little kid too.
So Happy
AJ for the TD after the huge gain.
by Tailgate Andy on Oct 12, 2008 1:43 PM CDT up reply actions
Even I could make that playcall
“Ok Matt. I want you to look at Walter, then OD, then just fucking throw it to AJ.”
by DisplacedTexan on Oct 12, 2008 1:44 PM CDT up reply actions
Thats how you play QB
All set up by the good pass protection.

Despite the ugliness
The Texans are in really good shape here – perhaps even some momentum?

So much for momentum

I had actually forgotten about that
Thanks.

Wait - you mean you've had a waking SECOND without thinking about it?
I’ll have what you’re having.

I've got a number of things to choose from.
Interesting strains here go by the name:
“Pol’s Pot” – that’s from southeast asia.
“White Widow”
“Northern Light”

when will the losing end? THIS WEEK!!!!!!!
Vonta
You know – I’m fucking ecstatic to see someone on the Texans show a little swagger. He wasn’t taking that bullshit and stuck up for his QB.
Sigh
What the fuck is wrong with this team.

The thread would get too long.
And I don’t have the time to type it out.

think 2005
we’ve now begun looking for a way to lose
Healthy and Turnover free 2008-09, and we win 11!
I'm crying on the inside...
I went from sure TD to a fumble… My heart hurts.
Either way we would have had the lead. MUTHERFUCKER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

TJ
is not a NT. He got pushed 5 yards after the ball….after being offside….
we have some of the nfl's shortest games
which is good this year, since they piss me off every sunday
Healthy and Turnover free 2008-09, and we win 11!
Bad for drinking
Not enough time to get good and sloshed.

The key is starting early.
While everyone else is in church, I’m getting shitfaced.
by HoustonDiehards on Oct 12, 2008 2:10 PM CDT up reply actions
I guess it's true.
You can’t drink all day if you don’t start early.

Get well present

This should make (the Horns fans) feel a bit better.
Okay - is Steve Slaton the starter and main RB or isn't he??
We lose a lot of big play ability with him out.
by HoustonDiehards on Oct 12, 2008 2:15 PM CDT reply actions
That implies Kubes has a game plan
Which he doesn’t.

Where can I join the universe
Where both our offense and defense plays well in consecutive series?

You need lots and lots of Jager.

today we look more like a winless team
than we have since week 1
Healthy and Turnover free 2008-09, and we win 11!
at least we have held the run game in check
when will the losing end? THIS WEEK!!!!!!!

Turnovers
Do we have the least amount of turnovers in the history of football? We couldn’t BUY the ball off the other team.
Excellent Point
The Defense needs to make a play – like NOW.
What the hell happened to the “Take it Away” shorts. They need to be sleeping with those things on. Each member of the Defense should have that scrawled on their mirror. So they see it EVERYDAY!

Gotta give Miami credit
They are much better with Pennington under center than they were with Ms. Cleo.

Whoa - waste the time out then don't go for it on 4th and inches? Curious.

Too deep
I guess… as a Texans fan, I’m happy with Sporano’s call.

That's what it looks like
But I’m still holding out hope that we get a long TD play.
by Tailgate Andy on Oct 12, 2008 2:32 PM CDT up reply actions
Always going forward.
We haven’t had that in a back before. Even hit behind the line, he’s pushing forward.
by DisplacedTexan on Oct 12, 2008 2:35 PM CDT up reply actions
As weird as this feels to type
The way our D has been playing, I’m ok with a FG.
by Tailgate Andy on Oct 12, 2008 2:35 PM CDT up reply actions
Dear Durga
I thought I just jinxed the crap out of us.
by Tailgate Andy on Oct 12, 2008 2:36 PM CDT up reply actions
We played for a FG
Too early to go for the lead. I don’t know about that… should have PA’d on 2nd down.
Got Texans? Visit BattleRedBlog.com for the latest on your Houston Texans!
I'm ok with it
Just because of the way that our D has been playing today.
by Tailgate Andy on Oct 12, 2008 2:39 PM CDT up reply actions
Every week I say the same thing
It will come down to our end-of-game defense.
by HoustonDiehards on Oct 12, 2008 2:39 PM CDT reply actions
Heres hoping
that it’s not butter soft like it has in the past.
by Tailgate Andy on Oct 12, 2008 2:39 PM CDT up reply actions
In the history of this franchise
have we ever held a team to 3 and out with 5 minutes or less in the fourth quarter?
by HoustonDiehards on Oct 12, 2008 2:39 PM CDT reply actions
Never Mind
What the hell just happened?
by Tailgate Andy on Oct 12, 2008 2:43 PM CDT up reply actions
HAHAHA LOLOL I totally called that
The second he caught that ball, I started SCREAMING – TUCK THE BALL DO NOT FUMBLE DO NOT FUMBLE!
/blows brains out

by HoustonDiehards on Oct 12, 2008 2:44 PM CDT reply actions
No seriously.
Truly stupid rule. That they get fresh downs.
by DisplacedTexan on Oct 12, 2008 2:45 PM CDT up reply actions
Really?
I think the rule makes a lot of sense. We had posession. Then we lost posession. You always get fresh downs on a change of posession.
It wouldn’t be stupid if it was in our favor, right?
Old Gold & Blog - The one and only Wake Forest sports blog
I understand the reasoning.
But on the other hand it’s still the same live play. There hasn’t been a whistle since it was still 3rd down for them. And when the whistle goes, they still have possession.
by DisplacedTexan on Oct 12, 2008 2:49 PM CDT up reply actions
Change 'today'
with ‘everyday’ and you’d have it.
by tehGrindCrusher on Oct 12, 2008 2:48 PM CDT up reply actions
they really should just do that.
i hoped for that last week too
Plenty of time on the clock, two time outs
But we’ll probably play for the field goal.
by HoustonDiehards on Oct 12, 2008 2:51 PM CDT reply actions
Would you mind
starting out as our DC first?
by Tailgate Andy on Oct 12, 2008 2:53 PM CDT up reply actions
Not "Ask Madden"
It thinks that a gut-run would be the best play.
by DisplacedTexan on Oct 12, 2008 2:53 PM CDT up reply actions
nah, they will try an 70 yd field goal
when will the losing end? THIS WEEK!!!!!!!
by m1 on Oct 12, 2008 2:58 PM CDT up reply actions
one thing that I hope doesn't come out of this game
is that we’re unlucky.
Good teams make their own luck, and we just suck.
Healthy and Turnover free 2008-09, and we win 11!
i hate to toot my own hor
but i called it the play before, too :)
i dont even wanna think about things like that now!!!

I feel like I did back in 7th grade.
Chanting “We’re # 1” after winning a game on the 7th grade B team.
1-4... yay?
I don’t know about you guy – but my BODY still feels like it was a loss. LOL
by HoustonDiehards on Oct 12, 2008 3:10 PM CDT reply actions
Holy fuck!
I think my body can’t handle this season.
by tehGrindCrusher on Oct 12, 2008 3:12 PM CDT reply actions
WIN!
A drive like that in the closing seconds of the game is the mark of a great QB. Of course, one game doesn’t say everything, but I’m pretty damn excited the Texans won.
