Some Thoughts

Here are some thoughts that I'll try to elaborate on this week.

  • The first half of this game is the team I have been talking about since Week 2.  The Texans are a team that can take it to anyone in the NFL like that.  The 2nd half is the team that everyone has been complaining about.
  • Dunta Robinson being on the field is far more invaluable than his 2 tackles today.  He brings an energy and a leadership to the defenese.  There was a time last season, before his injury, that he was making the calls for the secondary from his CB position.  It's good to have that kind of leadership and enthusiam back on the field.
  • More thoughts to come.

The first half was almost shocking....

how the Texans just dominated, Kubes just needs to learn to stop playing not to lose. When you’ve lost games like we have you can’t really blame him for the conservative approache. There is definetly a multitude of things to improve on for this team, but if you told me that the Texans would start fast every game and have to cling to victory, I would take it.

GO TEXANS!!!!!!!!!

Fire Richard Smith

…because putting Petey in single coverage on Calvin Johnson is such a bad idea that even I wouldn’t do it.

agree, but

I think Smithiak is all class, and we won’t see something that dramatic until at least January.

Healthy and Turnover free 2008-09, and we win 11!

It was shocking how Schaub's fumble just before halftime changed the game so much

Until that point it was ALL Texans. We’re looking at a 24-3 or 28-3 halftime score. Follow that with an early score in the 3rd quarter and it’s sayonara baby. The Lions would have folded up their tent and just tried to avoid injury the rest of the way. We’re tantalizingly close, but when one bad play can completely take the wind out our sails, that’s our cue that we have miles to go before we are there. Really good teams are not turned upside down by one bad play.

We look fabulous on offense and good enough on defense at times, but then way too quickly we do a quick 180 and head south on both sides of the ball. The talent and potential is there. It is squarely on the coaching staff to better utilize our skills. We keep improving, and we can be a very good team. But, we have miles to go.

GO TEXANS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
