Open Game Day Thread--Bengals v. Texans
Cincinnati Bengals at Houston Texans, Oct 26, 2008 3:05 PM CDT
Three (3) wins in a row. It's never happened in the nearly six and a half seasons of Houston Texans football. Will it happen today? Despite Cincinnati's record, the Texans had better not take them lightly; they're wholly capable of sticking one to the hometown team. If your Houston Texans are going to make history today, it won't be with anything but their "A" game.
As always, leave your pre-game, in-game, and post-game reactions and unintelligible rage in the Comments below. At 4:30 p.m. CDT, a second game day thread will post to the main page; please move the conversation there at the appropriate time. GO TEXANS!

Victory Weekend 3.0
It’s in full swing. Even Spurs notched a win!
And that’s to wacky European time rules, I only have to wait until 9pm for the game!

For those of us who follow other sports & teams.
I started an “other” teams fan post for those of us who follow soccer and other sports. Figured it would keep us from getting banned and keep the gameday thread focused on the Texans.
You can find it here.

You are not ready for Flacco
“2-8 OAK49 (5:37) (Shotgun) T.Smith pass deep left to J.Flacco to OAK 6 for 43 yards (R.Brown).”
Oh man. Flacco would burn Petey.
teams i like cannot play defense
is anyone watching the saints destroy san diego? the chargers defense might as well not be on the field. i am not relishing six hours of teams i love getting mangled by passing attacks
Keep it going fellas
Headed out to BWW. Hopefully I’ll come home happy.

Are you asking me to trust Richard Smith? I think he sets all the D up for a long day!
But, yes I’ll pray he offers more then Demps
I trust him
To make me want to shoot someone.
by DisplacedTexan on Oct 26, 2008 2:16 PM CDT up reply actions
Because EVERYONE loves him! He is the best!
by TexanFanFromTheStart on Oct 26, 2008 2:18 PM CDT up reply actions
The DC's love him too
When it comes time for their job evaluations, they all know that there’s at least one DC who’s worse than they are.

last week
we had the live stream from lion’s fan.
does anybody know if theres anyway to watch online today?
Maybe here:
http://www.justin.tv/directory/sports/football?kind=live&order=hot&lang=en
A bit later… hard to say. That or here:
http://www.myp2p.eu/broadcast.php?matchid=21841&part=sports
But neither looks particularly promising at the moment.

heres to hoping
and also that field pass works this week
Punt Return for a TD.
JJ getting an early start to the scoring after a three and out by the defense.

try KILT's radio broadcast
I can’t find any video streams. It sucks when two awful teams play one another. Nobody bothers to broadcast it or stream it.

After the first series
It looks like the Bengals suddenly remembered what defense they were playing against. They’ve been getting steady yards every play.
Wowsa.
We actually bent and didn’t break for once.
Well, they did get the field goal.
But it’s better than the TD we usually give up.
by Tailgate Andy on Oct 26, 2008 3:25 PM CDT up reply actions
naw, they just told him if he didn't preform, chris henry would roll him up and smoke him
when will the losing end? THIS WEEK!!!!!!!
It looks like
we’re weak up the middle. We need a run stuffer up the middle.

get okams fat ass in there!
when will the losing end? THIS WEEK!!!!!!!
by m1 on Oct 26, 2008 3:44 PM CDT up reply actions
What the fuck?
Even R. Kelly is abusing our defense. This has to stop.
Was that Eugene Wilson
that got that stop?

And he seems to have taken chinstrap lessons
from Steve Slaton. When I suggested a chinstrap clinic for Slaton, I didn’t mean that he should be teaching it.
by Tailgate Andy on Oct 26, 2008 3:54 PM CDT up reply actions
It'll be a team epidemic soon.
Slaton Watch still at 1.
by DisplacedTexan on Oct 26, 2008 3:55 PM CDT up reply actions
make that the 7.
Was looking at the wrong side of the 10 apparently.
by Tailgate Andy on Oct 26, 2008 3:57 PM CDT up reply actions
When's the last time we forced a turnover?
Wouldn’t mind one right about now, to put the proverbial nail in the coffin.
Great drive anyways, even without any help from the running game. This is easily one of the best offenses in football.
Where are some PHOENIX texans fans?
I live in Chandler AZ and got the NFL ticket. Just wondering when i can throw y TEXANS viewers party!
Jesus.
I realize we’ve only given up three points so far, but this defense still looks really bad.
What are our odds of stoping anyone ever?
by DisplacedTexan on Oct 26, 2008 4:06 PM CDT up reply actions
Anyone?
Well, there are only 31 other NFL teams, and something like 119 D1 college teams, so, I guess it would be 150 – however many football teams there are total/however many football teams there are total. So all in all, pretty good odds I think.
by Tailgate Andy on Oct 26, 2008 4:08 PM CDT up reply actions
I predict
that day will eerily coincide with whatever day Richard Smith no longer works for the Texans.
by Tailgate Andy on Oct 26, 2008 4:10 PM CDT up reply actions
In all fairness...
We are talking about Ryan Fitzpatrick here. The guy has wheels.
Not much
and when there has, there have been gaping holes that Fitzpatrick has scrambled through.
by Tailgate Andy on Oct 26, 2008 4:12 PM CDT up reply actions
This is only the second time
in 17 tries that the opposing offense hasn’t scored a TD once in the red zone.
by Tailgate Andy on Oct 26, 2008 4:13 PM CDT up reply actions
54 seconds left.
Think we’re gonna try to get those points back?
We should definitely be able to move into FG position.
54 seconds with this offense? It’s doable.
by Tailgate Andy on Oct 26, 2008 4:15 PM CDT up reply actions
Aww come on,
Don’t go injecting reality into this conversation.
by Tailgate Andy on Oct 26, 2008 4:15 PM CDT up reply actions
lol. at least we get ball to start the third, too
when will the losing end? THIS WEEK!!!!!!!
by m1 on Oct 26, 2008 4:17 PM CDT up reply actions
if jags and indi lose, we habve the same record as both
when will the losing end? THIS WEEK!!!!!!!
by m1 on Oct 26, 2008 4:18 PM CDT up reply actions
until next week, anywayz :)
when will the losing end? THIS WEEK!!!!!!!
by m1 on Oct 26, 2008 4:19 PM CDT up reply actions
Come on
Doesn’t Brown have a better chance of hitting a 61-yarder than that pass has of being caught?
It looked like Anderson
had a relatively decent shot of making that catch as it was.
