Wow

What a way to go into the half

by kozanack on Dec 1, 2008 9:04 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

It's 4am here

I should be going to sleep. But I can’t sleep with a Brian Pittman snap going straight through my skull into my subconscious.

by DisplacedTexan on Dec 1, 2008 9:04 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

To clarify

Law masters program.

Born/raised in H-town (what what!)

by DisplacedTexan on Dec 1, 2008 9:06 PM CST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Didn't

It was…. 12? years old when I graduated.

Lived in Champions/1960 though – didn’t live up in that cracked out “utopia”

by DisplacedTexan on Dec 1, 2008 9:09 PM CST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

yeah

it’s pretty fucked up

by Only_A_Lad on Dec 1, 2008 9:09 PM CST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

!!!!

Louetta! I lived off 1960 right around Cutten drive.

Cypresswood…. Raveneaux….

by DisplacedTexan on Dec 1, 2008 9:11 PM CST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Alright

went there until 3rd grade. Graduated from TWHS.

by Only_A_Lad on Dec 1, 2008 9:08 PM CST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Apologies for the comment then!

But I found the woodlands to be a wacky…. almost distopia.

by DisplacedTexan on Dec 1, 2008 9:09 PM CST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Oh I agree

I mean, I appreciate that it was a nice, safe place to live, but it’s a very strange place. Compared to the other places I’ve lived, it seemed somewhat unreal.

Plus, the Woodlands Corp won’t let anybody build a Dairy Queen in the area. That’s messed up.

by Only_A_Lad on Dec 1, 2008 9:13 PM CST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

The Woodlands

It’s just a giant yuppie community where the adults and the kids are more concerned with their cell phones than any sort of… what’s that called… human decency. I hated it and was so glad when my parents moved.

www.HoustonDiehards.com

by HoustonDiehards on Dec 1, 2008 9:14 PM CST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Lies!

The kids are more concerned with drugs. The parents with preening around and looking pretty. I am glad I never lived there… my education was great…. but the society was whack.

by DisplacedTexan on Dec 1, 2008 9:15 PM CST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

when did you graduate from twhs?

my older cousin was a pretty decent ILB there, and my younger cousin is currently tearing shit up, also as an ILB

Two years ago

Didn’t play football though (words can’t describe how awful I am at most sports; still enjoy them, though). I was a band/debate nerd.

by Only_A_Lad on Dec 1, 2008 9:15 PM CST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

heh

I used to live right off Research Forest dr.

oh sweet

since it’s half time i might as well ask: what are you doing there?

also, are you able to watch this from the comfort of your home or did you have to find a wireless hot spot or soemthing?

by cubic on Dec 1, 2008 9:06 PM CST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Slingbox

It’s quite the invention. I don’t get enough upstream at home (where the box is) to get the clarity i’d like… but haven’t missed a game.

I have actually seen more games this year than in 7 years of undergrad and law school – thanks regional coverage!

by DisplacedTexan on Dec 1, 2008 9:07 PM CST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

oh i understand regional coverage

i’m in virgina for college, and next year i’ll be even more displaced than you, in the frozen northlands of saint petersburg. it should be fun watching the texans in the middle of the night

by cubic on Dec 1, 2008 9:08 PM CST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

That's really awesome

Enjoy your time.

Where in VA? I went to GW undergrad.

by DisplacedTexan on Dec 1, 2008 9:10 PM CST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

i will enjoy my time

i want to become a translator anyway, so next year will bump me up the fluency i need.

right now i’m killing time as an english lit and russian lang/lit majors at william and mary. i see g-dub all the time at model un conferences. good people for the most part.

it’s a fun language, and goddamn do they know how to drink

by cubic on Dec 1, 2008 9:15 PM CST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I travel to hungary...

and magyar is the worst language I’ve looked at. I want to learn enough russian as a lot of people there speak it.

by bigfatdrunk on Dec 1, 2008 9:17 PM CST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

russian is awesome

and it gives you a leg up if you want to learn any other slavic language. magyar could help you with, uh, finnish and estonian. how useful

by cubic on Dec 1, 2008 9:18 PM CST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Admirable

Language is tough. I’m trying to pick up French while I"m over here… and I have a base of Spanish. But it’s just tough to keep vocabulary straight.

I will happily pass the torch for displaced Texan fan next year.

by DisplacedTexan on Dec 1, 2008 9:13 PM CST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

people at internet cafes might be confused by my yelling

but maybe i can get some drunk russians into football. that would be pretty awesome

by cubic on Dec 1, 2008 9:15 PM CST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I’m trading interest in football for an education in rugby w/ an Irish friend here.

Great times.

You’re right, Baby Shan. Why have your best player on the field?

Are there

Any 6’0’’ 250 lb running backs in the draft?

by Texan_in_Kansas_City on Dec 1, 2008 9:51 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

a touchdown there

and 7 mins off the clock, and the setup would be complete

Please draft some defensive stars for the next DC.

One Good Thing

My wife finally quit yakking at me and found something else to do. Twenty years of marriage, and she still hasn’t learned.

Things are just working for Reeves tonight.

He didn’t turn his head, and he still broke that one up. Nicely done.

This game is bizarre.

I know we’re going to lose it, but we’ve already avoided about half a dozen of our usual crucial game-losing mistakes. How’s it going to happen this time?

by Nashmeister on Dec 1, 2008 10:04 PM CST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

NO IDEA why they went for it there. Horrible play call.

And uh… we barely stopped them even though Garrard fell down.
