STEVIE WONDER IS AN EBONY GOD
He’s Reggie Bush at 1/100 the cost!by Only_A_Lad on Dec 1, 2008 10:31 PM CST reply 0 recs
Steve Slaton's star shone bright under the lights of Monday night. We've seen it all year - a crease is all he needs to break a big run. But it's not just his speed that's impressive; it's his ability to bounce out of the grasp of would-be tacklers and turn would-be losses into big time gains. With 182 yards from scrimmage, the nation caught a glimpse of Houston's latest sensation.

He was just on fire last night.
6.2 yds/carry. Reggie Bush can’t even touch that. Slaton obviously isn’t the return man that Bush is, nor does he have the receiving yards (though that’s at least partially thanks to the fact that the Texans’ receivers are much, much better than the Saints’), but Slaton is clearly the better runner. I’ve been impressed with him since that first pre-season game: he was absolutely fearless running between the tackles, and right then I knew that he could be awesome. Now all the Texans need (on offense, and besides fewer interceptions) is a true power back for the short yardage.
Who knew coming into this season that the phrase “Texans running game” wasn’t going to elicit massive pukage from fans?

That’s awesome.

I've been giving Reggie a break
on my site… I haven’t done the Reggie/Stevie comparison because Bush has been hurt.
You better believe it’s coming back this week.
