Andre The Giant

After watching Monday Night Football last night, it is an ideal time for the media to step up and give wide receiver Andre Johnson the credit this man is due. I’m sure it is greatly entertaining to watch this guy play week after week in Houston, but being a huge NFL fan in New Jersey, I don’t get the pleasure of seeing this man play on national TV very often at all.

Star-divide

Having to hear the non-stop negative stories surrounding NFL wide receivers day in and day out, it’s nice to see a top tier wide receiver that does it the right way. Seeing Andre is a big breathe of fresh air, compared to some of the selfish, me first wr’s that make the headlines day after day. Andre Johnson puts up some huge statistics too. He is leading the league in receptions and receiving yards currently. And last season managed to put up an incredible stat line of 60-851-8 in just 9 regular season games. Yes, he has missed 10 career games so far in his first 6 years in the NFL, but I feel he has unfairly been giving a injury prone label.

I had the same luxury as you Texans fans had when Andre was in college as I followed the Miami Hurricanes closely, and you could tell from watching this kid play that he had the potential to be a big time wide receiver in the NFL. He has the size, speed, and hands to make plays and be that threat that can lead an offense, and he sure has put it all together in the NFL.

With the huge development of Andre Johnson and now the exciting running game provided by rookie Steve Slaton, the Houston Texans are on the right track. They have showed major improvements over the years, and just so happen to be trapped in a division with some great teams every season. But with the talent they are gathering on both sides of the ball, and with a little more exposure they get nationwide, the Houston Texans are a team on the rise. The potential is there and I wish you guys good luck. PS, keep wearing the all red jerseys.

Preaching to the choir

my friend, but it’s good to see Dre get some much-needed attention from the national media.

Thanks for the kind words, btw. Would you happen to know of a good defensive coordinator that we can have? We kind of need one.

When I'm on the mic, I'm like global warming, you can't ignore me.
