A Thought About Eric Winston
You know, it just occurred to me that Eric Winston suffered an ACL injury his junior year at Miami. Now I've said all along that if the coaching staff thought Winston could play left tackle, they would have stuck him there. But now that it appears almost certain that Charles Spencer will never play left tackle for us again, do you think Winston could get a shot? He's a few years removed from his injury, and before the injury he was heralded as a very athletic lineman. Perhaps now that he's had two seasons to adjust to the speed of the NFL, rehab his knee, and get into even better shape, he'd be capable of anchoring down the left tackle position. Thoughts?

someone tell me
We seem to have an abundance of guard candidates which may mean we can afford to slide Chet back out to LT if A Gibbs thinks he can fill that role.
On the other hand, the incontrovertible evidence that Spencer will never play LT for us again is evidence that I haven't yet seen. Maybe I missed it, but the last I've heard is that Spence has a lot of weight to lose and that this is expected to retard his rehab, but I haven't heard anything more damning than that.
