GM Manfull

Megan Manfull put on her GM hat and represented the Texans in SI's beat writers mock draft today, where she selected OG Branden Albert.  How do you feel, given that DRC, Mike Jenkins, and Johnathan Stewart were still available?

My first reaction was befuddlement, but he does appear to be talented and rated highly.  I haven't seen anywhere that he plays other positions.  Would he be a good LT?

Lets hear it in your vote below.

Poll
How do you feel about Branden Albert?
  • Megan is a genius and should replace Smithiak - immediately.
  • No brainer - he was the best available at a position at need.
  • Either one of the CB's would have been a better pick.
  • Jonathan Stewart would have been a better pick.
  • Uh, why did we draft a guard when we need a tackle?

Riiiiight
I'm not willing to waste a #1 to take a G who might be a good LT when he's barely played there.

Scuse me?
I don't know if Megan pulled a fast one, but now he's labeled as an OT.  If you click his name, his bio clearly says G (in addition to other references on the internets labeling him as a guard).  I guess you can just change the letters and poof, he's a tackle.

Can someone explain to me why I care so much about a mock draft?  It's going to be a long wait until saturday afternoon.  Dammit

DRC or Jenkins, Please
With the caveat that maybe she and the Texans know something we don't, I'm puzzled as to why she didn't go CB there.
Looking forward to a day when being a Texans fan doesn't mean that April is the highlight of my season...

Mock drafts are silly
In fact I find their mockery insulting.

O-line baby!
If we go o-line in the first, we'll get a better draft grade on Monday!
Do you know what "winner" VY's career record is? 17-11 Do you know what "loser" Rex Grossman's career record is? 19-11

Well, you know...

assuming we don’t go with a third-round OT in the first.

What about...
6. Megan Manfull is retarded and only took him because it was the first name alphabetically on the list she had.

A Canard?
Albert popped up on draft sites as a possible OT in March, and supposedly linked to the Texans and Broncos. Is he really, or is it smoke to push him further up the board than he belongs? My guess is that they would have gone CB over Albert. But I can't say it is a bad choice.
