Draft favor

Also to get the damn spam off the top (hey, how many leads did you generate from that?  I'd guess -50.), I need a favor.

Does anybody have an approximate guess as to when the Texans will be making their draft pick?  I have some other family/non-football related events to attend to on Saturday, so camping out in front of the TV isn't an option.  Any sort of guess would be delightful.

Also, I can't wait to hear Mort bash us for missing out on Reggie Bush and VY.  That'll be awesome.

Best guess
The draft kicks off at 2pm.

You have to account for the announcement of Jake Long to the Dolphins, photo op, etc... 6 minutes.

Then after that, you'll have 16 teams who I would guess will take an average of 9 minutes a pick for 144 minutes.

Then theres the shuffling to the stage - best guess 15 minutes.

(6+144+10)/60 which equates to roughly 2hrs 40mins.
Add that to the 2pm start time and....

You're looking at 4:40.  If you can block off time between 4:15 to 5:15 you should be in there.

To DE or not to DE... that is the question.

BFD
My best guess is that we'll be picking around 5 p.m.  Draft starts at 2 p.m.  Ten minutes per pick in the first round, which means about six picks per hour.  First six picks from 2-3 p.m.; seven through twelve from 3-4 p.m.; thirteen through eighteen from 4-5 p.m.  As we're at 18, the big announcement should come around 5ish.
Looking forward to a day when being a Texans fan doesn't mean that April is the highlight of my season...

Cool, thanks Tim and SOLIS
Hmmmm...I wonder if I can escape around 4-4:30, which would give me time to get comfy and get a beer in me.

Does it really make a difference...
...I mean they'll show the whole draft over again a thousand times on NFL network.  Oh wait....nobody gets that network.....my bad...
