Texans Add Even More Depth At WR

Courtesy of a tip from our friends at The Football Wire, it's come to our attention that your Houston Texans added two (2) more WRs to the roster yesterday. Given the absurdly strong nature of the WR corps (e.g., for my money it's far and away the deepest position on the entire squad, and who would have said that this time last year?), it seems unlikely that Tim Carter and/or Mark Simmons make it to Heinz Field on September 7th. Still, I have no doubt that Smithiak brought them aboard to compete for a spot, even if their primary role will be running the drills that 'Dre can't right now.

Bethel Johnson = Tim Carter

a random speedy vet. i’m sure he’ll be given a chance, but he’s competing against established guys. he’s gonna have to fight hard to even make it through training camp. there’s probably a 0.1% chance that he can have an Andre Davis renaissance and make the team as a 5th receiver.

And...

given that outside, field-stretching speed isn’t exactly our “need” at the moment, that .1% might be generous. His best bet is to cut Apostrophe’s hamstrings and hope Jacoby gets ebola.

Yay, sports.

When I saw the headline...

I thought, oh no! Please tell me they didn’t trade for ocho-cinco.

Re: Loud-Mouthed WR

I think there’s a better chance that Smithiak trades for David Carr than there is of Chad Johnson EVER donning the steel blue, battle red, and liberty white. That kind of me-first crap doesn’t seem like it would last 10 seconds at Reliant Park.

Looking forward to a day when being a Texans fan doesn't mean that April is the highlight of my season...

True, but...

if you had to deal with 85’s mouth or Travis Johnson’s, um, Travisness, which would you prefer?

Yay, sports.

Between Those Two Choices...

I’d opt for a tall glass of bleach to guzzle.

Mix in some baking soda...

It helps coat the esophagus.
