It's Fantasy Football time again, at least at Yahoo.  The BRB staff is kicking around the idea of starting a custom-BRB league on Yahoo, or another FF site you prefer.  Let us know in the comments if you'd be up for BRB fantasy smackdown.

If we can get about 10 or so managers, we can start a custom league.  If we get more than 10 that want to compete, the $124.99 for a Yahoo Plus Custom League is on me.  (if i'm buying it's going to have IDP scoring so I can start Tim Bulman as a sleeper).

so far so good

keep the entries coming. plenty of time until any kind of draft. definitly don’t like to do any drafting until at least pre-season. otherwise the whole world will draft Matt Forte in the 1st round.

I'm a Titans fan...

...but I’m also a fantasy football junkie, I usually play in multiple leagues every year. Can I join?

by hartley on Jun 10, 2008 5:53 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

Yes, You Can Play

But league rules mandate that you take LenDale and VY with your first two picks.

Looking forward to a day when being a Texans fan doesn't mean that April is the highlight of my season...

um...

...I feel like I’m being set up, either for a joke at my team’s expense, or to lose in the fantasy league, or possibly both. But if that’s the rule, I guess I have to follow it.

Does it help if I say that I had Ron Dayne in my Yahoo league last year? Of course, I also had LT and Adrian Peterson, but Dayne was on the roster…

I'd be down for that

I mean, I need something to do while sitting in class.

I'm down too

Looks like my Bandidos will ride again. I took a year off of FFB last year – and was a happier person for it. But since it’s going to be a BRB thing – I’m down for it.

can yahoo leagues take 10 or 12 managers? i know you can have co-managers on yahoo.

is everyone cool with Yahoo as a platform?

can we get a couple alternates? i don’t know if we’ll have room. i’ll start putting together the league and the money for the Plus stuff.

once we have everyone confirmed. i’ll pay for the league and then post the details for the draft. for the draft, the later the better right? no one wants to draft in June do they?

RE: Total So Far

In the interest of not shutting anyone out who’s dying to join, I’ll volunteer to be an alternate; I’ve already got another league that I’m pretty involved in, so it’s not the end of the world if I have to sacrifice my spot here.

That said, with regard to the timing of the draft—I am in complete agreement with you. Better to do it as close to the regular season starting as possible; you don’t want someone’s season to be sunk because their No. 1 pick went down with a torn ACL in the first week of the preseason.

How did you miss me?

See above…about #4 on the volunteer list.

also...

If we do an IDP league, I could probably use a co-manager to help with that. It’s been years since I’ve done one of those.

Co-dependency is a bitch

I’ll co-manage with you.

Yay, sports.

1 tim

looking good. i’ll give it another day or so. then i’ll set to organizing everything online. keep me posted if anything changes with your ability to participate.

i’ll have to check and see if we can do 12 slots. otherwise we might have to get bullpen116 in as a co-manager or an alternate.

random update

looks like there’s enough interest. i should be paying for the league by the end of the month. i’ll post or email about it when it’s up and running. i saw somewhere on yahoo that you can have up to 20 teams. it might make the talent pool a little thin, but it would make things more interesting.
