NFL Rankings - Am I a blind homer?
So I ran into the "Fan Nation" Team rankings over at the four letter networks' website and I couldn't resist ranking all 32 teams. And well..I have the Texans at number 11. This seems extremely high but when I look at the teams I have ranked below them I can't say that I really feel any of those teams are head and shoulders above us. What say you BRB? Am I a certifiable homer or do you think that's close?
For the record "Fan Nation" has us ranked at 22. That is just indicative of the national perception of our franchise.

That's a good assessment
I think the saints are a little high, and I would probably raise the Redskins a notch or two due to the Jason Taylor factor. Ranking wise # 11 is suitable for the Texans, but I believe they will finish much higher.
GO TEXANS!!!!!!!!!

Agreed
The Saints ahead of the Jags stood out at me… so did the Pack slipping to 14 – but that being said – I agree with the Texans being ahead of most of the teams (w/ the exception of the Pack and maybe the Seahawks).
Otherwise, it’s a good run down. Nicely done Tyler!

I put the rankings together in about 5 minutes, so some teams are certainly out of wack. Yes Saints are too high, they are a top 10 team this year though. They should run away with the NFC South, with a healthy Deuce. 12 wins me thinks for da saints.

pretty good
I’d switch the Eagles and Vikes. Minny has a dominant running game and top 5 defense, the 2 biggest aspects of a top team (imo). I agree about the Saints, especially with their acquisition of Shockey; they’re stacked at every offensive position now.

But they have...
no passing game whatsoever.
Yay, sports.

True
But in my opinion, with AP and Chester Taylor on the ground, they won’t need more than a mediocre passing game, like the Bears from 06. I think they’ll be able to get enough production from Jackson/Bollinger/Booty/Frerotte at QB and Berrian/Ferguson/Rice/Wade at WR to keep opposing defenses from totally stacking the box on every play, leaving some room to run.
They’re gonna be all about TOP, and should win 10-12 games if they can average 17-20 points/game. Again, just my opinion, but those Bears showed that you don’t need a successful passing game to have a very successful team.

errmmm
cowboys should be lower until they decide to win a playoff game instead of choking. also tennessee should be lower. chargers are overrated and it should be 1-2 pats, colts doesnt matter which way.
patriots defense will feel pain this year and only their offense will keep them in some of these games.

That's a pretty good list,
but I’d put Houston at 10 above the Eagles. Philly does NOT impress me. It’s become a pattern for the past few seasons for Donavon McNabb to get hurt, and then complain about something, usually with dealing the race card. Reid’s offseason woes will carry inot this season and Philly will be a non factor. I think the Texans are just a better team than the Eagles. Maybe I’m the blind homer, huh?

Agreed
Philly has the misfortune of having to play in the 2nd toughest division in football – if they get off to a bad start, the philly faithful will be calling for the heads of Reid and McNabb. If they can boo Santa, nothing is sacred.
