Chris Brown Officially on Notice
Looks like Chris Brown's unexcused absence for a wedding has him one step closer to getting a visit by The Turk. Not a good way to make friends with the teammates, coaches or fans. He might be playing golf with Jerome Mathis come September.

Re: Mike Bell
Chris Brown is not anywhere near proven enough to pull this kind of nonsense. One more Bronco is fine by me.
Looking forward to a day when being a Texans fan doesn't mean that April is the highlight of my season...

mike bell
when did he get cut by the broncos?
i guess they think selvin young is the better starter.
bell was halfway decent as a starter for them.
i think chris brown is a better RB overall though.

Speaking of RBs...
I guess I’ve been out of the loop, but what happened to Cedric Benson? No, I don’t think the Texans need him. I’d take Ron Dayne over Benson and his attitude. Just curious.
I kinda hope Benson ends up at Tennessee….....

chris brown
I think he has a good chance of getting cut, The Texans are no longer in a running back crisis, but I do think they need to keep four.
GO TEXANS!!!!!!!!!

I'm looking for
a lot out of Steve Slaton. If he gets even close to the kind of year he had at WV two years ago, he should get 1,000 yards and 6-8 scores. Although I think I heard something about the Texans using him as a situational back, and maybe even returning kicks. Anybody heard anything else?

So far that's about it
It looks like they’ll continue to mix him in – but will take their time with him. From everything I’ve read, he’s looked good and showed some of the speed that had him gain a combined 2100 yards his sophomore season. Look for him to mix in on third downs for now.

Apparently Chris Brown has back issues
and Kubiak isn’t the least bit thrilled. We’ll see if he gets on the field tomorrow – if not, expect an official BRB is putting Chris Brown on notice post.

I'll Say It
2008 Chris Brown=2007 Keenan McCardell?

Well...
In a manner of speaking, I guess you can make the correlation. But I think expectations are greater for Chris – which is ironic, I know – where as when McCardell got cut, I wasn’t overly surprised.
Now, I realize an argument can be made for the WR being a bigger question mark heading into last year than running back is this year – again ironic, I know – but I still think Chris has to pull some serious shit not to make the roster.
The way I see it he’s working on picking up his second strike. He screws up or misses too much of TC with chicken shit injuries – Slaton may get into the games a lot sooner than we expected.

Right again bro
Kubiak was counting on Chris Brown carrying just enough of the load, say 7-10 carries a game to reduce the wear and tear on Ahman. Early returns could not be worse. A freaking wedding and now back spasms. He’s in the HOV lane to the doghouse about now, especially if he did not get his butt on the practice field today. Between Taylor’s power, Slaton’s speed, and Darius’ combination of the two, Chris Brown may find himself expendable real soon; with or without Mike Bell. I really dig Kubiak’s no nonsense approach. We continually hear his mantra “he can’t help this team if he is not out on the practice field”. I am hoping Brown turns it around, but am also ready to cut bait if he can’t (reminds me of Jerome Mathis). JM looked great for about 5 minutes but we are so better off without him. Ditch all non-hackers (btw that’s not a computer reference, it just sounds right).
GO TEXANS!!!!!!!

The Texans need to keep Brown for exactly one game.
Doesn’t matter which one. The first time he shows up, he’ll be awesome! After that, he’ll be nicked for the rest of the year.
IMHO you might as well save him for when you really need him. Deactivate him the first 10 games of the season, and then use him down the stretch. He’ll be like a secret one-shot missile.
