Super Mario Sacks?

Megan Manfull asks if Mario if the best DE, what do you think? On my personal blog www.houstonsportsrule.blogspot.com, I'm starting some predictions just for fun and I wanted to get my fellow BRBer's to chime in.

#1 How many sacks will Super Mario have this season? I would put to Over / Under at 15 and I'm going to take the over. I'm hoping for a a big season from Mario.

At 15

I think your over/under may be a bit high. I would do a double back flip if he gets that many. I think he goes to the Pro Bowl this season, but as far as a sack count at the end of the season, I’m saying 12. I hope you’re right, though.

i’d set the over/under at 9 sacks. anything over 9 and it’s a Pro Bowl season.

Sacks

You’d think Super Mario would exceed last year’s numbers, what with Okoye being a year older and Colvin lining up on the other side. Then again, sacks aren’t the most accurate statistic of a DE’s impact, and opposing offensive lines will surely key on him more than ever before.

I’m going to say Mario notches 11 this year, but he makes the Pro Bowl.

Looking forward to a day when being a Texans fan doesn't mean that April is the highlight of my season...

the only problem i have with endless improvment is that at some point it gets ridiculous.

he notched 14 last year. if he does better than that he’ll be averaging 1 per game or better. which would be awesome to have, but to outright expect it would be reaching a bit.

and i agree that sacks aren’t always the best measurement.

I have it on good authority...

Brett Favre has decided that whether he plays for the Packers or Vikings, either way he will fall down an let Mario rack up 17 sacks in that one game. Apparently his reason for coming back is to try to break some of his previous records.

So you're saying that now I have to think of some witty Sig that will be applicable across all the SBN sites? Go TexanHornStros!
