Jameel Cook Arrested

EDIT BY TIM: Had to promote Ben's FanPost to the main page. Cook was probably gone anyway, but this bump in the road should be enough to seal his fate. Guess this makes Chris Taylor the official backup FB...

Texans Player Arrested

Goodbye Jameel Cook, and thanks for the memories. Sure, you lost two games for us in 2006 with fumbles. You weren't much of a blocker, but could be counted on to gain a yard or two whenever Wali Lundy or Ron Dayne or Echemandu went down with injuries. Your efforts to insert yourself (unsuccessfully) as a team leader were admirable. But the bottom line is that you were basically just another free agent bust. Now hurry back down to Miami to see if Ricky Williams will let you stay at his place for a while.

As someone who wanted Cook gone since the Buffalo game...

all I can say is “thanks, Jameel.”

Yay, sports.

Insignificantly Significant

Dude had two ounces? We’re not talking about a couple of pinners here. IIRC, that’s about two of ziplock bags full (if broken down). That’s too much bud for the dude to have in his car.

2 grams

Maybe the article was updated since you last saw it, but it says 2 grams now. 2 ounces would be worrisome, but 2 grams ain’t shit.

Also, is that picture of him an official team pic? Or is that his mugshot? How ridiculous would it be if he was wearing his jersey casually? I wonder if he pulled the whole “do you know who I am?!” bit.

Damn Engineers and their math

2 Grams = 0.07 Ounces

So I guess he had already rolled one from that particular dime bag.

Funny

I always assumed that’s what his name was in reference to. This might say something about the company I keep.

Yay, sports.

Thanks for playing

But you are both wrong. Although it seems to be a popular guess, as someone at BON asked the question about 6 months ago.

I had this nickname long before any pop culture movie refererences were available.

The paths these comment threads take.....

It started out about the ineptitude of a warm-body-roster-filler fullback who got busted with some weed, and went to the reason for Shake’s screenname. Oh, how I love BRB!!!!!!!!!!

I was hoping...

to make it to H-town for that same game, under the guise of taking my son to his first game at Reliant, but now I think the wife and both kids are going to be in Minnesota that weekend.

Hmm…

If they aren’t leaving until Friday afternoon, I’ll either have to go with them or make up some reason why I can’t go. BUT, if they leave, say, Thursday morning, then I can’t go because of work, but that should not preclude me from going to Houston that weekend.

At this point, I am just thinking outloud, but I’ll keep you posted, SOLIS.

Yay, sports.

Unfortunately

Not any time soon, but it would be great to make it over there and meet some of my BRB cohorts in irreverent sports blogging.

Hey SL - We need to get together for a game here in SA

SA chapter starts here…

In related news, BFD talked about wanted to get together here in SA… sorta like an Austin/San Antone meet. DHC, BFD, and a couple of regulars at DGDB&D. Wholesome fun to be had for all…
