Jameel Cook Hits Low Times
In a move that should surprise absolutely no one except his dealer, your Houston Texans advised Jameel Cook that his services were no longer needed. In a related story, I'm setting the over/under of numbers of bags of Doritos sorrowfully consumed in the Cook household today at 8. Narcotics issues aside, this move was coming regardless. Cook was passed on the depth chart by Vonta Leach, and he'd been relegated to a special teams gunner. There are plenty of younger, cheaper, and better options for that roster spot.
The Texans also brought Jon Abbate back, though I think Chris Taylor's ability to back up the starters at both FB and RB likely means Abbate is bound for the practice squad.

No White Castles ?
Is Ganja really considered a Narcotic?
I would clasify it as Illeagle Herbage.
It’s not like he pulled a Matt Jones! ..but he probablly wasn’t going to make the team anyways.

White Castle burgers are for those north of the Mason-Dixon
Down here, I believe JiTB tacos (2/$0.99) is the correct way to go.

Questions, only somewhat related to this post.
OK, so it’s become generally accepted as gospel that Rick Smith and (probably more accurately) Bob McNair make no bones about getting rid of bad character guys and refusing to sign free agents of bad character, right? Well, two questions, then: First, at some point, don’t you have to take talent over character, especially if the rest of your lockerroom is a bunch of boy scouts? Second, assuming the answer to the first question is yes, what is that point? I mean, say the Chargers cut ties with Merriman. If he were interested in playing here—-and assuming he passed a physical—-don’t you have to make a real offer and try to bring him in?
Yay, sports.

Does anyone remember Jajuan Dawson?
He doesn’t play anymore, but I know him outside in the privated sector. He told me the other day, that when he played at Tulane, he remembers the coach saying he was glad he had guys on his team, who had been arrested a time or two.
My point is, sometimes you may have a guy who ain’t the brightest, but he’s one helluva football player……….. not that Jameel Cook is ……..like MDC said will the Texans ever have a bad boy?
