Favre As a Jet
I know you're all probably as sick as I am hearing about Favre and the will he won't he story. But what do you think about Favre being a member of the AFC?
This means the Texans could have a chance to play against Favre in the wildcard round/first round of the playoffs. I don't know about you but I like the prospect of Mario Williams teeing off on Favre all day.

kinda too far off to think about. still. if the texans make the playoffs this year, they’re steam-rolling the jets.

I’m still waiting for my secret decoder ring to arrive in the mail, so would someone please decipher this for me?

I got mine
It reads: ...Farve and the “will he / won’t he” story. – which, as we all know is code for “Be sure to drink more ovaltine”

Re: Favre
Good move for the Jets, as I have a hard time thinking that they were going to make any noise with Pennington or Clemens at QB. Now, I think you’d have to say they’re probably No. 2 in the AFC East, though I think there’s a decent chance that Favre reverts to pre-2007 form this year and isn’t the godsend they hope he will be.
Regarding a HOU-NYJ matchup, I’d still be a bit worried about Favre strafing the Houston secondary. And I believe that NYJ OL should be much improved this year, despite the fact that Super Mario is going to eat the souls of everyone he faces in ‘08.
Looking forward to a day when being a Texans fan doesn't mean that April is the highlight of my season...

a bit tougher for us
I know we don’t play the Jets, but this should make our bid for a wildcard spot more difficult because it’s one more team we have to compete with. In essence, I think this means the Texans need to finish no worse than 10-6 in order to have even a chance at the Wildcard.

Decipheration
The “will he/won’t he story” as in: Will he play for Green Bay, or not, will he un-retire, or not…and basically everything else that he’s waffled on for the past three months.
Should have clarified a little in my original post.
But I agree, it’s just the beginning of the season and playoffs are a long way away, but this does change the whole AFC playoff picture. I think the idea of a Houston NYJ matchup is rather amusing. As for the Houston secondary, here’s to hoping Dunta Robinson makes a full and fast recovery.

Ditto that
At 12 o’clock, I had respect for Brett Favre.
But then he pulled this unretiring BS media circus crap, and now he needs to get himself a brain like that Dorothy bitch.

my two cents...
...cuz everyone loves me, right? Right????
Favre was pretty bad in 2005 and 2006. 2007 looks like a classic outlier to me statistically. I think he’ll put up a QB rating in the mid-60s range as he learns the new offense and has to go against the Patties twice.
I mean, let’s be honest: he was the worst starting QB in the league in 2005 by rating, and he’s not likely to put up similar numbers in 2008 as he did in 2007 when he’s 39 years old. I could be wrong, but I’ll take the under on his helping the Jets to the playoffs.
Also: Pennington put up an 86.1 versus Favre’s 95.7 last year.

The Jets are good for Favre
because they play in New Jersey and he can get all black-market-mafia-backed vicadin he can find. I think John Madden is his dealer.

The tag line to this
says “Favre a Jet”. Just sounds dirty, as if Favre is a verb or something. To favre, to be favred, “We’re gonna favre you now, but we’re gonna favre you reeeal sloooow”. Sorry. I’m in a strange mood this morning.
