Crap
Now Faggins is getting brought in.

Generous spot by the refs there I think
But they would have gotten it on 4th and inches.
by HoustonDiehards on Sep 21, 2008 1:50 PM CDT reply actions
Hey, let's tell the whole story
It’s 15.5…
by Tailgate Andy on Sep 21, 2008 1:50 PM CDT up reply actions
What is this??? 3rd and long??
What does that even mean??
by HoustonDiehards on Sep 21, 2008 1:51 PM CDT reply actions
It means...
Time to give up an 11-yard screen pass.
Is that what a tackle for a loss looks like?
It’s been so long, I’d forgotten.
by Tailgate Andy on Sep 21, 2008 1:52 PM CDT up reply actions
Progress:
2 third downs this series so far.
by tehGrindCrusher on Sep 21, 2008 1:51 PM CDT reply actions
lovely.
please don’t muff this punt return.
Hentrich
Is going to get hurt b/c he’s cold.
by tehGrindCrusher on Sep 21, 2008 1:53 PM CDT reply actions
On my delayed p2p stream
It seems like we’re getting better pressure.
by tehGrindCrusher on Sep 21, 2008 1:54 PM CDT reply actions
What's worse
Is that we had 2nd and 2, and still couldn’t get the first.
It almost looked like Kubes was scared for Schaub to throw the ball.
by Tailgate Andy on Sep 21, 2008 1:59 PM CDT up reply actions
OK
Our defense held again.
Now time for our offense to do something.
by tehGrindCrusher on Sep 21, 2008 2:03 PM CDT reply actions
Also
Miami opening a can on New England makes me happy.
by tehGrindCrusher on Sep 21, 2008 2:05 PM CDT reply actions
I missed the first half thread (catching up to real time)
but why do they keep saying the Texans are AVERAGING this, and LAST WEEK.
Did they do any prep?
Healthy and Turnover free 2008-09, and we win 11!
I like the move to go for it.
ride that momentum. Gotta have seven here.
4th and 4
Texans going for it.
If we get this, this could undo that first 4th down conversion we missed in the first game
Schaub... wow.
Disgusting. Definitely going to be a QB controversy this week.
by HoustonDiehards on Sep 21, 2008 2:10 PM CDT reply actions
Weak.
Gotta throw it past the friggin’ line.
last year
we had an offense to go with our mediocre defense
Healthy and Turnover free 2008-09, and we win 11!
Illegal formation on the offense.
Penalty declined. 4th down, Hentrich in to punt.
by Tailgate Andy on Sep 21, 2008 2:16 PM CDT up reply actions
They're opening the door for us
But we’re not even on the porch.

I wanna see
the texans drive summary for this game
Healthy and Turnover free 2008-09, and we win 11!
Give the d
some credit. And give the o the gas face.
by tehGrindCrusher on Sep 21, 2008 2:18 PM CDT reply actions
especially since
we’ve thrown the D to the wolves
and
handed the offense the ball in GREAT field position.
pitiful
Healthy and Turnover free 2008-09, and we win 11!
I think Schaub
has 4 completions to three different receivers
Healthy and Turnover free 2008-09, and we win 11!
Why do we have Pittman again?
The announcers just said that there was another bad snap by Pittman (we still got the punt off alright).
I'm a big Schaub fan
But it’s time for Sage.
by tehGrindCrusher on Sep 21, 2008 2:20 PM CDT reply actions
I don't care about placing blame
he’s not doing the job for the last three games
Healthy and Turnover free 2008-09, and we win 11!
Does it undermine
Our ability to score?
by tehGrindCrusher on Sep 21, 2008 2:24 PM CDT up reply actions
as bad as our first quarter was
the third has almost matched it
Healthy and Turnover free 2008-09, and we win 11!
I dont care if
walter throws it to D. Brown…
score
Healthy and Turnover free 2008-09, and we win 11!
The offense is just standing around and waiting...
For Jacoby to take one to the house.
Our defense isn't really playing any better
They’re just playing ultra-conservative.
by HoustonDiehards on Sep 21, 2008 2:26 PM CDT reply actions
Do we need a receipt
To return all these gifts they’re giving us?
by tehGrindCrusher on Sep 21, 2008 2:26 PM CDT reply actions
the way our D has played
I think we have a chance with 6 here…
but that may be asking too much
Healthy and Turnover free 2008-09, and we win 11!
Andre
Needs more catches. Don’t care which one.
by tehGrindCrusher on Sep 21, 2008 2:27 PM CDT reply actions
slaton is a stud
but its like every 4th run, so we can’t just feed him
Healthy and Turnover free 2008-09, and we win 11!
I think
We’ll take 2 cracks at this.
by tehGrindCrusher on Sep 21, 2008 2:32 PM CDT up reply actions
and how badly
do we need the points we sqandered down inside their 10 now
Healthy and Turnover free 2008-09, and we win 11!
Why can't we get our act together?
Although I guess I rather burn a timeout than run a bad play.
I just hope that we don’t end up doing both.
by Tailgate Andy on Sep 21, 2008 2:35 PM CDT up reply actions
Mass suicide?
Everybody, quick, drink the poison gatorade. That last play was too shameful to bear.
It's all part of Kube's plan
to lure the Titans defense into a false sense of security.
Nice run by Slaton btw.
by Tailgate Andy on Sep 21, 2008 2:38 PM CDT up reply actions
Nobody expects
the spanish inquisition…or AJ for that matter.
by Tailgate Andy on Sep 21, 2008 2:38 PM CDT up reply actions
Another freaking time out??
What are we, a freaking high school team??
by HoustonDiehards on Sep 21, 2008 2:40 PM CDT reply actions
Hey, lets not be demeaning
High school teams don’t even call this many time outs.
by Tailgate Andy on Sep 21, 2008 2:40 PM CDT up reply actions
ARGGGGGGGGGGGGGG
One yard-line, three tries. Why not just give it to Slaton? Or Chris Taylor? Or me? Anybody.
I'm dissapointed
because even if we pull out a win,
can we beat Jax or Indy?
These are the freakin Titans
Healthy and Turnover free 2008-09, and we win 11!
Why
Are we calling back to back pass plays from the one?
by tehGrindCrusher on Sep 21, 2008 2:40 PM CDT reply actions
Better not be
Another goddamn dump off to Slaton.
by HoustonDiehards on Sep 21, 2008 2:41 PM CDT reply actions
This is like watching me play Madden.
It’s like we’re more concerned with Schaub’s stats than winning the game.
Um kay
Well, we deserve all the crap that the Hillbillies say to us.
by HoustonDiehards on Sep 21, 2008 2:42 PM CDT reply actions
Yeah.
But that missed PI/out of bounds – and subsequent bullshit goal line call – be lookin’ bigger and bigger every minute.
Also, kick the fucking FG next time Kubes.
Agree
That’s six points we left on the field.
by tehGrindCrusher on Sep 21, 2008 2:44 PM CDT up reply actions
Whatever
I’m not going to blame the refs for anything. AJ has dropped TWO TD passes in this game, and our defense is vagina-soft.
by HoustonDiehards on Sep 21, 2008 2:44 PM CDT reply actions
we've gotta be leading the league in
going for it on fourth down
Healthy and Turnover free 2008-09, and we win 11!
That 4th and 4 call
Is killing us.
They kick a FG there, and a FG in that last possession – and it’s a six point game.
by HoustonDiehards on Sep 21, 2008 2:46 PM CDT reply actions
At least that actually worked.
What killed us was the mind-numbingly stupid play-calling on 2nd and goal from the one.
Down 6
In bizarro world where Kubes doesn’t sprout balls at really strange times.
In real world… down 12!!
except
Groundhog’s day had a happy ending.

Oh look
Another chance for Schaub to fail.
by tehGrindCrusher on Sep 21, 2008 2:55 PM CDT reply actions
you know.....
there are some areas I think we are starting to get more control of .
maybe by the last game of the season we’ll figure it out. !?
I think CBS might have just jinxed Tennessee
They said that this was their first 3-0 start since 1999.
Hope, are you serious?
Seriously – this game would be a total blowout if Fisher hadn’t played so conservatively in the 2nd half.
by HoustonDiehards on Sep 21, 2008 2:57 PM CDT reply actions
Also
I’m pretty fucked this week in the brb pick’em league.
by tehGrindCrusher on Sep 21, 2008 2:57 PM CDT reply actions
Time for a classic garbage-time Texans TD
by HoustonDiehards on Sep 21, 2008 2:57 PM CDT reply actions
I don't care if it's garbage-time
as long as we get two garbage time TD’s and the Titans get none.
by Tailgate Andy on Sep 21, 2008 2:59 PM CDT up reply actions
Man.
I’d love to have those FGs right now. I mean… 4th and 4 in the 3rd quarter. KUBES WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?
My theory on that...
Is that our defense looked like shit at the beginning of the 3rd quarter. And when we were already down by 12, trading field-goals didn’t make much sense. If he had known we’d blank the Titans for the rest of the game, I’m sure he kicks the field goal. At the time though, I was in favor of going for it.
we may get to
see our onside?
oh wait, we’d have to score for that. nevermind
Healthy and Turnover free 2008-09, and we win 11!
Ok
so maybe CBS was just being realistic. This sucks.
by Tailgate Andy on Sep 21, 2008 3:01 PM CDT up reply actions
I like Schaub a lot more than Rosenfels or Carr
But the guy fumbles more often than any other QB I can remember.
Blame time!
I pin this entire game on Kubes. Allow me to chart them for you:
1) Challenging a clear Int… if we have that TO or that challenge… we could challenge the PI in the first half.
2) Above mentioned FG in the 3rd
3) Same situation in the 4th
4) Running it under 2 minutes – running keeps the clock ticking, hooray!
Agree
The only positive is Slaton, imo.
by tehGrindCrusher on Sep 21, 2008 3:04 PM CDT up reply actions
Hey there!
Aren’t you that dumb yokel from last week? Your sister let you out of the bedroom long enough to post?
by DisplacedTexan on Sep 21, 2008 3:05 PM CDT up reply actions
Yup, that's me
By the way I think the Texans coaching is letting the team down.
Schaub should not be the starting QB, esp. given that he’s afraid to play the Titans, and Kubiak is an idiot for not challenging the out of bounds reception in the first half.
There was a reason for that.
Granted it was because he had screwed up a challenge earlier in the quarter. So small victories.
by DisplacedTexan on Sep 21, 2008 3:09 PM CDT up reply actions
Come back!
If you’re gonna start tossing shit out you best stick around long enough to defend yourself. I’ll even give you extra time to look up words in the dictionary!
by DisplacedTexan on Sep 21, 2008 3:08 PM CDT up reply actions
LOL
Not even the cameraman can believe that Schaub handed the ball off.
by HoustonDiehards on Sep 21, 2008 3:05 PM CDT reply actions
Eh, I'm putting it on Schaub.
Just when I thought he couldn’t play any worse than last week, he comes out and proves me wrong. Truly a horrendous passing performance. For a moment, I thought Slaton and the defense were going to pull that one out and Schaub would know what it was like to be VY for a day; play like crap and still somehow win. But he managed to not only not make any plays; he even took opportunities away from the running game by taking sacks and throwing for negative yardage on X and 1 situations.
Way to regress.
You know, I agree
I always thought he looked like a retard
now he’s playing like one……what do we
do?
I wouldn't get the shovels ready
But Schaub is definitely on notice. It’s worth noting that Carson Palmer has started the year looking like trash, too. I think we as Texans fans are forever burned by the excess of “patience” provided to David Carr, so we’re on loaded springs when it comes to QB performance. We see the 8-8 record last year and get in to the mentality of “if only we had a good QB…” Does anyone really think Rosenfels is the answer to our prayers?
The fact is that Rosenfels had about 2 quarters of good football last year against prevent defenses, mixed in with a bunch of bad quarters. Schaub is still the better QB, and it’s still only two games and a historic hurricane into the season. Let’s not start hyperventilating here.
Maybe it's just me
But I’m not giving up on this season yet. I wasn’t predicting the playoffs this year anyway, but I did predict 9-7. I might want to lower that to 8-8, which I would be happy to come away with.
Did we really expect these games to go any differently? Well I take that back. I didn’t expect the kind of beating they took in Pittsburgh, but let’s keep in mind that Pitt is one of the elite teams in the AFC. They have arguably the best defense in the league and one of the best offenses. They were playing on the road and looked outmatched. I didn’t expect to lose that way, but I wasn’t expecting a win either.
As for the Titans, I didn’t expect a win on this one. But, I thought they would come close. Even though they got terrible play from Schaub, their defense kept them in the game. Kubiak made some boneheaded decisions and they were still in it until the last 4 minutes or so.
Don’t take this as me saying they are playoff contenders. Yeah right. Far, far, far from that. They have holes on the defense, apparently no passing attack, and the worst challenge calling coach in the league (but a good one overall). This isn’t the year.
That being said, I don’t think it’s time to jump ship just yet. I already see comments on the chron calling for Kubiak’s head. In two years, this guy has completely rebuilt the franchise. Give the guy a chance.
It’s the first two games of a new season. Yes, they’ve played awful for most of those 8 quarters, but there is still time for improvement. There is still time to show that with each year more steps are being taken towards the playoffs.
Dre all day
Oh and not to mention
Ike. Definitely not using that bad boy as an excuse, but he certainly was on the minds of the team. How could it not be?
Dre all day
Ignore the ones who call for firings
Those are just reactionary fans. They can go become Cowboy fans for all I care.
Ultimately, 0-2 is not surprising… but the problem is, we haven’t even competed yet. We’re not talking about two hard-fought losses. We’re talking about two straight-up ass kickings in which not only did we get slapped around like children – but we came off like pussies. That’s the problem.
I had them at 9-7 and missing the playoffs this year. Right now, I see no reason to change that. The second-half schedule is easier than the first half.
