More bad news, Frenchy has a broken finger

As if it couldn't get worse ESPN is reporting that Jaques Reeves suffered a compound fracture of one of his fingers. Our secondary play has been so abysmal thus far that Frenchy's return to the field theoretically was going to be a major improvement. Well now it will have to wait because he has suffered his second fracture of the year. Looks like the rookie Brice McCain will get a chance to start because the Fred has been absolutely horrible thus far. I can't imagine what went wrong with Fred, but the right move is to bench him until he can prove he deserves more playing time. Not sure if his coverage or his tackling was worse. Both were unacceptable.

Thankfully it was only a compound dislocation, not a broken finger.

Pop it back in and sew it up. He’s expecting to be back next week.

Jebus, I’d be expecting more than 2-3 days off if that were me!

Frenchy's quotes on the finger

CB Jacques Reeves
(on how he injured his finger) “Doing ball drills and dislocated my pinky. It came out of the skin. Just taking a precaution, they went in and cleaned it out. Nothing serious.”

(on the use of the hand) “I don’t use my hands playing corner, so no worries.”

Rec'd

For the accuracy of that last quote.

Looking forward to a day when being a Texans fan doesn't mean that April is the highlight of my season...

He forgot to mention he doesn’t use his eyes either.

That he admits that he does not use his hands in coverage is freaking hilarious

or tragic; maybe both. That would be like anyone of us admitting to our boss that we don’t use our brain at work. I know that wouldn’t go over too well where I earn my salary. If we didn’t need Jacques so badly at this point, that comment might have drawn a fine.

It came out of the skin....

That should be forever on the back of his jersey.

Oiler-Texan diehard

Does it bother you that any money you spend on Oilers gear goes towards Bud Adams? I have a game room that is starting to get pretty decked out, I would love to have an old Oiler Helmet in my gameroom but just can’t seem to get over the fact that Bud “Effin” Adams will prosper from my purchase… just wondering if it bothered anyone else!

I was buying a Oiler hat

couple weeks ago, and I was hesitant to get it because Bud might see some of my cash.

Actually I haven't bought any Oiler's gear since they moved away

and now that you pointed that out I may never again; but I do love that derrick on the helmet, and I like all the Campbell #34 jerseys I see at Reliant.

After they moved to Tennessee and I was still in denial, trying to convince myself that they were still “my” team, I bought a Jevon Kearse jersey. Didn’t think about the fact that Bud got a % of that transaction. I even enjoyed the Music City Miracle game and the near Super Bowl win vs the Rams. As I was watching those games though I couldn’t help but occasionally think that this should have been the Houston Oilers’ Superbowl. The Houston NFL fans have been denied so much over the years, that when we do eventually get to the top it will be that much more sweet.

GO OILERS TEXANS!!!
