Reviewing the Cards 2nd Half Offense
via lh3.ggpht.com
Second half defensive plays. You decide our effectiveness.
1. 1st and 10. Kurt Warner rolls out to the right. One receiver in Steve Breaston. No pressure. Caught. Three yards.
2. 2nd and 7. Warner in pocket. Cushing with an excellent job covering the primary, Boldin. Warner checks down to Dan Kreider, who drops an easy catch.
3. 3rd and 7. DeMeco Ryans single-handledy blows up the play.
______
4. Anthony Becht for 4 yards. He was the primary.
5. Jacques Reeves with a beautiful play.
6. DeMeco almost gets a sack, pressuring Warner. Anquan Boldin beats Frenchy, but it was a nice play by Warner. Frenchy does a good job recovering.
7. Beanie Wells gets 6.
8. Dunta Robinson with great coverage and gets lucky.
9. 3rd and 4. Brian Cushing beats Wayne Gandy. Antonio Smith and Mario beat their guys. Fantastic play by Cushing to hold Warner by the latter's foot. Amobi Okoye finishes the play. An absolute WOW play by the Texans.

10. Okoye and Glover Quin stuff Hightower on a run. Quin spectacular on the play.
11. Jerheme Urban with a horrible drop. Might've been six the wrong way.
12. Mario asserts his authority with an assist from Okoye, who had an incredible half.

13. First and 10. Connor Barwin with a PD.
14. False start.
14a. Horrible pass for 6 No pressure.
15. Mario and Frency team up for a fantastic play: Mario on the rush, Frenchy with the coverage.

My Opinion
Is that the picture makes the post elite.
Looking forward to a day when being a Texans fan doesn't mean that April is the highlight of my season...

My opinion...
Is that this wasn’t anything close to what we did in the second half against Oakland. They were still passing (after all, it’s all they know how to do), and we made some nice adjustments. Add in some beautiful plays in the secondary, and overall there’s no way to diminish the defense’s performance.
Cushing and Reeves both played great. The defensive line didn’t consistently blow past their line, but they won enough battles to give the secondary a chance.
I hope we can come out and play like that against Cinci. But it’s going to be a waaaay different game, and they’ll have to get back to run-stopping like they did against Oakland (except with a competent QB they have to worry about).
