NFL Total Access Previews 49ers' Chances Against Matt Schaub
I was watching NFL Total Access before I drifted off to sleep and then I saw a feature on how the 49ers defense hopes to cope with Matt Schaub and the Houston offense this Sunday. I was quite surprised with the props given to Schaub. At first it appeared that Rod Woodson was going to try to deny how well Schaub is playing, but they really had good things to say about him. Especially Mike Martz. Give it a spin if you got a minute.

Mike Martz also called JTO Sullivan a good QB
Aside from that idiot’s comments(Martz), I would have to agree with anyone saying Schaub is a good QB.

How much does Kubiak look like a genius for getting Schaub....

A lot of people were high on Schaub before Houston traded for him. A ton of people in Atlanta wanted him to start over Michael Vick (and this is pre-convicted Michael Vick). But, Kubiak was the one who put his job on the line to get the guy, so you are right. He should get the credit.

I never liked Vick as a quarterback.
I always thought that if I were a coach, I would use him around the field as a receiver and a running back in different formations.
This is not to say that Vick was a bad quarterback, because he wasn’t. I just saw more potential to have a good qb who could utilize Vick’s athleticism out of the backfield and downfield.

Philly is really wasting his talents right now. I really can’t fathom why they signed him unless its as trade bate in the offseason.
I thought it was only a 1 year deal...
with an option for Philly after the 1 year?
If so, it’s not for trade bait in the coming offseason.
Matt Schaub...
is as classy as they come, I was impressed with how nice he was to my daughter and now she is in love.
I want him to succeed badly and I get so pissed when people tell me that the Texans need a real QB. Matt Schaub is the real deal and I am proud to have him QB my team.
I will be at the game sunday and I think this could be a blowout.
GO TEXANS!!!!
This is the year.......
I strongly doubt a blowout.
San Fran has a very good defense with a strong pass rush.
I think it could be similiar to the Bengals though 28-17 or so or 28-21.
San Fran’s offense is no where near as good as the Bengals, so our defense has to set the tone for this game.

Yes all the way on Matt Schaub
He is a class individual, a very, very good QB and I believe the concerns about him being injury-prone are not totally accurate for this reason…how many QB’s have not been injured? They all get injured. Brett Favre is an anomaly. Let’s look at other QB’s. I will mention a few good QB’s and you tell me if they have never been injured: Tom Brady, Ben Roethlisberger, Chad Pennington, Daunte Culpepper, Donovan McNabb, stop me when I name one that has never been injured….Kurt Warner, Drew Brees, Tony Romo (ok, I’m running out of good QB’s), Carson Palmer, Matt Hasselbeck, Peyton Manning, ….let me know when I name a QB that has never been injured and lost time or required surgery to repair something…okay. I think I made my point and that is, the QB position is an injury-prone position and not the player. The QB is subject to a lot of hits when he is putting himself in a vulnerable position. It is an injury-prone position. It is not the player who is injury-prone.
I suppose if all of the stars, moons and planets align it could be possible, but what are the chances of that?
I still get worried when I see him get injured running off the field, but he’s taken some hits this year like a champ

If I heard correctly
Rod Woodson said the 49ers lead the league in offensive 3 and outs. The Texans lead the league in defensive 3 and outs (i know, its hard to believe) and thats not a very good stat matchup for the 49ers. If the 3 and out stats hold form, the 49ers offense could be on the field a whole bunch on sunday.
dont u mean the 49er defense will be on the field a whole bunch
or the texans offense?
not the 49er offense tho
