Houston NUMBER ONE Tailgating City In America!
OH YA BABY!! Finally, Number ONE in the NFL!!! Ok so maybe not on the field, but it's about time we got SOME love.
"Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City has long been a standout because it is the barbecue capital of America, August to December. To have eaten ribs or chops here is to have participated in a great time in American culinary history.
But the one place that could give Arrowhead’s chefs a run for their money are the grill-masters down at Reliant Stadium, in Houston, where the Texas-style barbecue rules"

hey Koz and the other old men out there...
What was it like in the 70s and 80s? My family never tail-gated, but I also don’t remember seeing much of anything going on. Every once in a while, there would be a bbq, but not much more than that.
Note to self: Insert something witty here.

I Don't Remember Any, Either
And somehow, I have a hard time seeing Bud allowing it. It seems like he would have seen it as competition for his concessions.
Whatever tailgating people might have done was most likely done with simple charcoal grills. The big BBQ rigs you see today were a rarity until recent times.

Re: Tailgating at the Dome
Wasn’t allowed, primarily for the reason cited by Koz—Bud wanted people inside buying his wares.
Looking forward to a day when being a Texans fan doesn't mean that April is the highlight of my season...

that makes sense...
There was an Antone’s on Main we’d always stop at and grab subs. It was pretty easy sneaking them into games back then…before the strip searches and everything.

Strip Searches?
Where did you stash the subs? Nevermind, we prolly don’t want to know…

yea i saw this the other day but they did not say we where not number 1 i think, but it does sound good. I mean really how can u compete with us we have THE BEST BAR B Q and then if u want to through in tex mex. I love our tailgating town. I know it also said we have the most space then any other city to tailgate even with the astrodome still up just imaging if they tore it down how much more we would have.

No way man. Baltimore has the number one tailgating atmosphere! We have hot dogs, beer, sometimes chicken, oversized oatmeal cookies AND porta-pots for pooping and peeing. Basically we kick your ass. Oh yeah, we also have the Tic Toc Club on the corner where you can France after the game.

i forgot to mention we have bean bag throw and plywood hole set ups. i still think lawn darts or lot darts would be fun.

Huge Earl Campbell fan in the day. I loved watching him run over the Steelers. He had their number.
