VY has the X-factor. When the play is busted and most QBs would throw it away or scramble out of bounds at the line of scrimmage, VY can run for 10+ yards to pick up the first down. This is what he CAN do, and not what he always WILL do.

This is not college football, this is the NFL. Defenders in the NFL are faster, they take better pursuit angles, and they lay down some lights-out hits.

VY is a scary QB to play against because you can never be certain that the play if over, but he is a volatile QB. He can make great plays, but he often must take great risks.

Why is VY good for the Titans right now? Because the Titans run the football extremely well and have a great offensive line.

Just imagine what would happen if VY and Schaub traded places…

VY would get sacked because he cannot effectively run a pro-style passing offense. Andre Johnson and Owen Daniels would not have big numbers because VY does not have enough throwing accuracy to justify having elite receivers. Our running game would be even worse because defenses would put 8 in the box on every play.

I believe that Schaub would excel in the Titans offense – almost any QB could. Sure, he would need to manage the game a bit more since the star wideouts aren’t there, but Schaub can make plays.

Nevertheless, VY has the X-factor. He is exciting to watch, and I am glad that it is him in there at QB instead of Kerry Collins for the MNF matchup. Not only will it be more entertaining, but I believe that it gives the Texans a better chance to win.

VY is a role-playing QB who needs a offensive line and running game to support him. He is a game-manager who can produce the occasional eye-popping scramble, not a game-changer who can produce the occasional eye-popping pass.
