VY winning, good for the Texans future?
Now that VY has a win under his belt for Tenn...thereby "vindicating" the wisdom of all the Richard Justices of the world, I can't help but wonder...Is this not the best case scenerio for the Texans?
I must confess to start that I am a half-ass Longhorn, one who pulled for VY throughout college, only to turn on him as he was dragged down into the depths of hell on draft day. Unfortunately, Vince was "chosen" to represent Satan, both literally as well as figuratively.,.okay perhaps not figuratively, but certainly so literally.
Anyhow, since that time, through his subsequent success and failure, I have come to pull against him no matter the situation. He could screw up crossing the street or tying velcro-ing his shoe and I would chuckle and think, "Check out Bud Adam's b*tch?" I relish his failures and embrace his embarrassment...basically, I'm a total d'ckhead on all things VY.
But I know how I got this way. My hatred is similar to my hatred of Apple... I actually like their computers and phones and crap just fine...its the jackbastards who don't shut up about the f'n product that make me loathe them so. Seriously, anyone mentions a computer issue, and some punkbitch has to whine "See, my apple doesn't crash" or check out the little computer logo sticker I put on my Prius-"Smart"car. Those motherf'ers were (by far) the biggest obstacle to me ever buying any Apple product and fuels my reluctance to even admit any of it has redeeming qualities.
To make a short story longer still (and make the computer-related babble relavent), aside from Bud Adams, its VY's dummass disciples that make me pull against him for every little thing. They are so...(in the word of Balki Bartokomous) "ridiculous". Anyhow, this naturally made me want VY to fail miserably against the Jags (even knowing it would benefit us if Jacksonville gets a L).
Then I start thinking, wait a second...Long term...what is the worst thing that could happen to the Tuxedos?...Well, probably for them to hop back on the VY "All He Does Is Win" Partytrain and miss out on Colt McCoy in the upcoming draft (who you just know Adams has wet (yet somehow dusty) dreams about should VY fail to perform on..for him).
Sure, so VY pulls out a couple W's (not including our Texans), they toss Fisher out, hire Major Applewhite or Earl Campbell or whatever evil mindf*ck Bud Adams can come up with to try to tear the UT/Houston/Texas loyalites, passes on a quality QB in the draft and sinks more $$$ into the VY Experience...and thus tries truly building a team around him.
That my friends would probably be the very best thing that could happen to our beloved Texans franchise...get those Tuxedos to rebuild on a foundation of quicksand...Now that I can root for...So, now I am singing a different tune and "pulling" for VY (but not in the gross way like Justice & company). Rather, I am just saying, "Win VY... Win like the wind!"
So what do you think? Are we better off if VY wins or gets his ass handed to him for the rest of the season?

I see what youre saying
but to me its never good for the Texans if the tits win. While their win yesterday helped the Texans, its because the Jags lost, not because the tits won. Personally i dont think Colt will be rated high enough to be drafted where the tits are going to pick in round 1, so they probably wouldnt draft him anyway.

I agree, but if 5 tits wins this season...
would get them to recommit to VY for the long haul (& to their own peril), it might really play to our advantage over the coming years. Fisher & company running that franchise like a football team is far scarier than Bud, VY and the marketing department calling the shots in Tenn.

awesome post
haha pretty damn funny..
I feel like that about xbox 360 owners. I love the damn games on it, but a lot of people who own them act douchey about it and it makes me hate the system for some odd reason.
Anyway, I am in the minority of Texans fans in that i actually hate the Jaguars and Colts more than the Titans. I never grew up watching the oilers and I was only 13 or so in the Texans inaugural season. Add this to the fact that I feel no particular loyalty to UT seeing as how I do not go there, and I say just pray that he sucks against us.
That being said, it is always good when a division rival blows, so I hope they do hop back on the radio train.

Great post, and I never knew the Perfect Stranger's Balki even had a last name
I’m a Texans’ fan to the core, but VY at Texas was so incredibly awesome that it’s difficult for me to want him to fail in the NFL. Yes that is contradictory, but the back to back victories in the Rose Bowl were so enjoyable for Longhorn fans that I can never be a VY hater. Don’t want to ever see him beat US again, but would like to see him do well in the NFL, preferably for a team in the NFC.

Good Point, VY a Cowboy would be a deal breaker for me too
VY starting for the Tits has made the upcoming MNF game on the 23rd more exciting already. Will be fun to see him take on the Texans, as long as we win the game.

Mad Men
That’s how I feel about the tv show Mad Men.
If I tell people I don’t watch Mad Men they look at me like I just said my name was Osama Bin Laden.
Funny thing is, I watched one episode, but got tired of people babbling about it all the time, so I didn’t go any further. I’m sure it’s a great show, but the hype is getting on my fucking nerves.

Richard Justice hates this post, yet, he became physically aroused.
If you look at VY’s line, you’ll see that it really wasn’t very good. Sure, he completed a lot of passes, but his average attempt was like 5 yards. That’s David Carr-esque, and we all know how that turned out.
Ditto on the apple feelings, though I did buy an iPhone, which I love. iTunes can blow me.

Disagree...
Fisher is a good coach, and being a good coach, he knows when one of his players stinks, and he will try to hide them. Would it be realistic to expect more from Radio? Fisher was the coach when McNair was there, right? There’s a hole in your bucket.
They should be building statues of Fisher around that stadium, which they should name after Fisher. He’s the only reason they’ve done what they have in the past. Well, Haynesworth didn’t hurt, but that was the only player they had.
So, here’s what I want… I want VY to win enough games that he will be re-signed to a huge contract, but not enough to save Fisher’s job, because there are 31 teams who would kill for a coach like that. Oh, and right after VY is on the books for the new contract, he blows his fucking pea-brain out.

When the dust settles and right before it becomes obvious even to Bud Adams that VY sucks
I would reccomend VY do my old favorite trick whenever I really suck at something…I act like its not challenging enough as it is, so I start doing it left-handed and let everyone figure out “oh wow, look he’s doing it left handed!”…I feel like it makes me look so good at said activity that I have graduated beyond traditional competition to challenging myself with extraordinary handicaps.
That’s what VY can do right before the hook comes out on his QB charade…he should switch to southpaw…and then when the disciples finally notice they can be like, “sure 7 int.‘s in a game isn’t great, but I’m pretty sure he was playing left-handed in that one, all hail VY!”
This tactic is most effective when your talent level is such that it is almost impossible to distinguish by merely looking at the statistics whether one was competing against mere mortals (righty) or competing with the game itself (lefty)! So VY might be a perfect fit!

he wont beat houston anymore
News FLASH!!! He’s a terrible QB in the NFL. He will NOT beat the Texans this season. Last year both games we played the tits, I wanted VY to start instead of Collins who knows how to win in the NFL. Bring on VY on MNF, he will be embarrassed on national tv.

Vwhy? will not beat us
Some on a previous post voiced concerns about mobile quarterbacks (like VY). to quote myself, “On the mobile quarterback issues of the past…I would totally agree, EXCEPT, this Bush defense seems very different. It plays the run now better than ever before. It still does not get the penetration we want and lacks pass-defense talent in the secondary (which if anything favors the pure pocket passer). Our three-stooges repeated blown run defense assignment days are over (thank God).”
My thought is that great run support from the linebackers, a good run stopping DL, and a secondary that play the run well really dares the opponents t beat us through the air, not running or scrambling. I think pounding VY specifically (& especially on our home field) is a matter of pride and will be a HUGE priority for this defense. I think he’s fixin to get the belt this time around…
Result, is Texans CRUSH VWhy? and stop CJ on MNF! I can’t wait!!

Disagree. Scrambling qbs still give us trouble.
We have really only faced a few QBs this year that can run.
Garrard averaged 5.8 yards per carry resulting in a scrambling touchdown and a 30 yard run.
Alex Smith averaged 8 yards per carry on 2 carries that resulted in first downs.
Mobile QBs extend the drive. The rest of the QBs we have faced never really left the pocket.
VY can run better than all those guys by leaps and bounds.
We WILL have issues with VY burning us for first downs early in the game. The question will be can we adjust to that and still limit CJ?

Five thoughts on Alex Smith and his "8 yards per carry on 2 carries"
1. Sample size. Consider, if Bulman isn’t offsides (which didn’t affect the play IIRC) on Smith’s first run, he average 5.3 on 3 carries instead.
2. Only one of those runs, the 11-yarder, was a first down. The other was a five-yard run on 3d-and-10.
3. Smith is not a “scrambling qb” unless you really think 10 rushing yards/game for a career is scrambling. Smith is just a QB who moves a little better than a guy like Carson Palmer. For comparison, that’s less than 5 yds/game more than Matt Schaub with Houston. Also, in the only season Smith started all 16 games, he only ran 44 times (Schaub has already run 33 this year) and averaged a Reggie Bushian 3.3/carry.
4. “The rest of the QBs we have faced never really left the pocket.” Sanchez had 5 carries (long run: 7), Collins had 2 (long: 3), Warner went 2 times for no gain. So all of them left the pocket at least as much as Smith, but you’re basing our “problem” with “scrambling QBs” on Smith having an 11 yard run?
5. I generally hate the whole idea of “well, if you take away [thing player did well], we did a good job,” but it holds with Garrard. We gave him one big run early, the 30-yarder on 1st-and-10, but then held him to -1 on 4 other carries. We also held Jax to a FG on that drive with the 30-yard run.
If you look back in the sands of the internet, you will see only one set of footprints. It was then that I carried you.
Yay, sports.
