Ask Some Colts Fans

Usually someone more important from Stampede Blue starts this, but apparently they are a little slow this week, so I'll be doing this.

Obviously, we all know that this is a HUGE game for the Texans and the Colts.  The Colts are trying to keep a firm grasp on the division, conference, and league, and the Texans are going for the upset over a division rival.  I've seen this described by some people as "the biggest game in franchise history" for the Texans, but I guess you guys would know better than me and everyone else I've heard talk about this game.

This is definitely the best Texans team in franchise history at this point, and the Colts are keeping up a winning tradition by starting 7-0 for the fourth time in five years.  Even with Owen Daniels and Anthony Gonzalez out, this should be an offensive battle.

So if you have any questions about the Colts, here is the place to ask.  This always gets good responses and is very interesting, so this should be fun.  A lot of Colts fans will be coming by here to answer questions, so you should get your responses quickly.  At Stampede Blue we have a dedicated (insane) group of people that will almost always be around to answer questions.

Fire away, Texans fans.

UPDATE FROM TIM: Thanks to the Colts fans for doing this; I've returned the favor over at Stampede Blue with this FanPost. Head on over there to see what they're asking about and feel free to chime in with answers of your own.

UPDATE THE SECOND FROM TIM: BigBlueShoe has decided to lock our FanPost over at Stampede Blue "because the chatter at Battle Red Blog has gotten a bit out of control." He has further encouraged his writers and readers not to comment or post over here. While I vehemently disagree with his decision, Stampede Blue is BBS' domain, and there's nothing I can do about it. What I can do, however, is keep this thread open for fans of the Texans and Colts to continue the discussion, even if we're not permitted to do so over at Stampede Blue. And that I shall do. Keep on keepin' on.

What's the deal at left tackle for you guys?

Am I correct in thinking that is the weak link in your o-line?

When I'm on the mic, I'm like global warming, you can't ignore me.

by tehGrindCrusher on Nov 4, 2009 4:26 AM CST reply actions   0 recs

It's not really the weak link we all expected.

Charlie Johnson supplanted Tony Ugoh as the starter in training camp as soon as he was healthy. It was announced as a planned move, but no one was expecting it after Ugoh started for the last two years and seemed to be improving. Everyone expected Johnson to struggle, but in fact he has played very well. (Granted, he hasn’t faced anyone as good as Mario Williams yet.) The verdict is still out on Ugoh. Some are hoping he gets moved to RG or RT, which is where the real weak links are on our OL at the moment, especially RG. Mike Pollak has been a bust so far. Pollak was at fault for 2-2.5 sacks against SF, and was replaced in the second half by Kyle DeVan, an undrafted rookie who appears to be outplaying Pollak at the moment. Many think he could/will earn the starting job, which may improve our right side. Diem has been struggling at RT as well, but we’re not sure how much that has to do with playing next to Pollak. For the time being, runs to the right are a guaranteed FAIL, and pass protection is questionable.

Good insight

on the Colts O-Line. Our tackles are our strength on the line, but Freeney and Mathis will have their way if we try to pass too often IMO.

With the way our D-line is playing

This matchup could really be an area of strength for us. Saturday is obviously very good, but our interior linemen are playing very well, and Mario is a beast, even if he is not at 100%.

What exactly happened to Ugoh?

He was fine the first year he started, what changed?

by Jordann on Nov 4, 2009 9:14 AM CST up reply actions   0 recs

I think he's just lazy...

There were questions about his work ethic coming out of college and that appears to be to root of the problem now. He never really matured into the position and when he got benched he just began to sulk. He’s the very definition of the word washout.

by invisibulman on Nov 4, 2009 9:22 AM CST up reply actions   0 recs

What got him benched was inconsistency

he’d be doing great for a while, then randomly he’d completely blow an assignment, then go back to playing great, until he’d randomly totally blow an assignment.

This year there’s only one start to go from but he seems to have regressed sitting on the bench.

So it's safe to say that he's a bust.

When and how high was he drafted?

by Jordann on Nov 4, 2009 10:16 AM CST up reply actions   0 recs

at LT he's done

but bust LTs can still end up as useful starters, but at RT or G. That’s what I’m hoping for.

He was an early second rounder in 2007. The Colts traded their 2008 1st rounder and a 2007 4th(?) for the pick to draft him with.

doubt it

deadlines past so he’ll have to sit or try to win the RG spot for the rest of the year.

Do you think it was Dungy that was able to keep him in check

And now that he’s gone, Ugoh’s underperforming?

by Jordann on Nov 4, 2009 10:30 AM CST up reply actions   0 recs

He had the inconsistency issues under Dungy

This year for the first time in his 3 year career someone on the Colts outplayed him at the LT spot, meaning a trip to the bench for him.

I don’t have much to go on, for how he’s done since the change because he was bouncing between positions (LT, RT, RG) in preseason and has only had one start at LT so far (it went poorly).

Luck is probability taken personally, clutch is probability attributed to individuals.

Questions

Please use the comments here to ask any questions of Colt Homer, myself, or shake n bake. We all write for Stampede Blue. However, please understand that within the last week, we’ve banned two of your more dedicated fan posters on this site from Stampede Blue. We did so because, well, they were jerks. This means that if I start seeing more “trash talk” in this post and fewer questions about the Colts, the game, etc, then we simply will have to abandon this post.

Know one thing about us Texans fans, for YEARS we writers have said “This is the Texans year,” and for YEARS we have taken crap from Jags and Titans fans for saying that. Now, it seems that your team is indeed quite good. ABOUT TIME! Even when your team was bad, these contests were close and hard fought. Therefore, it should be a damn good game.

OK, ask away.

by CFHTim on Nov 4, 2009 8:34 AM CST up reply actions   0 recs

Yes.

The run defense is definitely better this year. Last your our projected starters were Ed Johnson and Quinn Pittcock. Johnson got suspended and Pittcock (2nd year player) retired? That left us with DTs like Kyunta Dawson and Raheem Brock who both weigh in the 250-280lbs range. It was just a matter of getting some real DTs in there. This year’s starters are Antonio Johnson (310lbs) and Dan Muir (310lbs). LBs have also gotten bigger. They are not an elite run defense by any means, but they are probably average at this point which is a huge upgrade.

BBS is a guy who often hyperbolizes (is that even a word?) many of the things he says

I do agree with him, however, that the tactic singletary used was very lame and cheesy. If you want to win, you shouldn’t have to result in forcing your players to fake an injury, and yest this actually is a rule in the NFL Rule book. Why isn’t it enforced again?

but that was a whole game ago. Now its time to look towards the texans.

by metal_militia on Nov 4, 2009 9:14 AM CST up reply actions   0 recs

I guess that's the problem...

There is no evidence until someone actually comes out and admits it (not likely.) But watching the game it was very suspicious the timing and nature of the injuries. Some said they actually saw Singltary signal the players to go down. A cheap tactic, but in the end, we still won. Next game.

by invisibulman on Nov 4, 2009 9:30 AM CST up reply actions   0 recs

What was the signal?

So many signals are used in the game. What if it was a defensive signal?

by Jordann on Nov 4, 2009 9:31 AM CST up reply actions   0 recs

Everything that BIGBADBRAD

said in his post about Singletary is PURE SPECULATION.

by Jordann on Nov 4, 2009 9:32 AM CST up reply actions   0 recs

it is speculation

You have to draw your own conclusions, but you really know if you watched the game, it is an old tactic dated to the invention of the no-huddle and its not the first time it has happened to us, is nearly impossible to prove but the league need to establish a mechanism to at some degree prevent it, like sitting the injured player the whole possession series maybe, idk but this should not be the topic of this thread.
if you want to read on what our organization thinks about it here is an interview to Bill Polian about it.

by thebossuzzi on Nov 4, 2009 9:43 AM CST up reply actions   0 recs

You are right

Feigning an injury is a cheap shot, and it should be stopped/prevented. I’m not familiar with the incident in the 49ers game, but I do remember similar accusations made during the Jags game. In that particular incident, the “feigned injury” turned out to be a broken leg which resulted in the player being put on IR. I guess my point is that it’s easy to suspect cheap tactics when the injury break disrupts what the colts are trying to do. It is football, though, and people do get hurt… even if at an incovenient time. Shouting “foul” every time is also kind of cheap.

Just my opinion, not trying to get anyone riled up.

by KeithG on Nov 4, 2009 2:46 PM CST up reply actions   1 recs

thats why i talk about a mechanism

to be fair to everyone involved , as there is no way to know if its fake or not, then a mechanism like a rule that prevents that same player to rejoining the same possession series could be good for the case that way it will limit the fakes but it will be fair with the real ones

by thebossuzzi on Nov 4, 2009 3:07 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

Isn't there something in place now?

If a player gets injured in the last 2 minutes (regardless of faking or not), the team loses a TO or the clock is run down?

If the Treasury Secretary doesn't have to pay taxes, then why do I?

by Shake on Nov 4, 2009 3:10 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

yes but thats in the last 2 minutes

the league needs something to prevent it as a tactic to slow down the no-huddle to go as far as a team lossing a TO during regular time i guess its overboard as it will seen as a punishment to the team if a player gets hurt, but there is a way to detect the posibility just by taking to consideration when is the injury taking place, a injury that takes place during formation in a no-huddle will always look suspicious so i think not permitting that player to rejoin on that same drive is a good way to deal with it, if you get a cramp during a formation in a no-huddle you will need to sit out until the possession ends

by thebossuzzi on Nov 4, 2009 3:41 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

It's only cheating if you're caught, right?

In all seriousness though, anything like you’ve suggested would be far too subjective. That’s why they’ve gone to a zero-tolerance policy in the final 2 minutes….because there is no objective way to tell the difference between a legit & fake injury in real time.

If the Treasury Secretary doesn't have to pay taxes, then why do I?

by Shake on Nov 4, 2009 3:48 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

Without rolling an MRI onto the field, how do you get the call right even 70% of the time?

If the Treasury Secretary doesn't have to pay taxes, then why do I?

by Shake on Nov 4, 2009 3:51 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

what im saying

is not for the ref to decide is more of a rule, like the one on the under 2 minute , but insted of the team losing a timeout it will be that the player involved stays out for a number of plays not need to know if it fake or not adn will be subject to a non play injury like one during a formation.

by thebossuzzi on Nov 4, 2009 4:00 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

fine with me

at least there is something in place to prevent teams from doing it and getting the same player right into formation the next play , it could have a safety side effect. is safer for a hurt player to stay out of it a couple of plays anyway. Listen guys as i said early this tactic is as old as the no-huddle itself and as many including myself believe there is no way of telling whos faking or not, if youare injured stay out of the game for a couple of plays then.. thats how it should be if the injury is real right?

I don't think he was trying to be arrogant or presumtous.

There were a few Texans fans that went too far on their site apparantly and he was simply saying “if you want me to stick around, keep the conversation civil”.

By doing this though, he did create sort of a self-fulfilling prophecy. If you don’t want a scenerio to play out a certain way, demanding that others don’t do “x”, “Y”, or “Z” isn’t usually the best way to go about it. For example, if BFD went to a social gathering and demanding “Nobody better call me fat!”, I can assure you he will be called fat multiple times, whereas if he just trusted in people to treat him respectfully to begin with he wouldn’t be insulted nearly as often. (sorry to BFD for using him as an example, just assumed that since he is the “bigfatdrunk” he wouldn’t be offended at the analogy). In other words, if he wants the conversation to remain civil, he would have been better off with a less confrontational approach.

I don’t think he intended the post the way it came off however, so i’ll at least give him the benefit of the doubt.

I’ve been reading this blog for about a year now but never posted anything for fear of not matching up to the in depth analysis of most of the posts on here, yes I have now had a revelation of the amount of “fuck dunta” posts and the like are fervently displayed here and being Argentine I have plenty of experience with derogatory language haha. I absolutely love the epic quality of this post on DGDB&D and have many a time made those same connections towards BBS which (at least in my mind) stands for the disease formerly known as “little man syndrome.” Anyway at least everybody now knows the Houston Texans have international fans specifically here in Argentina, unfortunately it makes it very hard to watch the games but I root non the less. Go Texans! I feel like the Rockets attitude will rub off on our Texans this week baby!

How do the Colts fans feel about this one?

Do you feel nervous at all that this (noticeably) improved Texans team isn’t double digit dogs? The Texans were solid on offense last year, as you discovered, but now the defense is actually solid as well. Does this give you any reservations in your prediction this week? Or is it just Colts business as usual?

And don’t give me coachspeak about “well the Texans are a good team,,,,(drops some names) have been playing well….we can’t let our guard down.” What scares you about this game? Be honest.

by BigTexBD on Nov 4, 2009 8:49 AM CST reply actions   0 recs

Two words

Andre Johnson

one thing , i hate injuries, but without OD at TE the colts should use a LB to cover TE instead of a Safety as OD would have required, this is huge as now AJ can be double teamed with a safety on top. This could be the factor and how the OD injury could affect your team.

But AJ is a scary WR

by thebossuzzi on Nov 4, 2009 8:59 AM CST up reply actions   0 recs

We have buttloads of depth at WR, though

And if you double AJ, you will have to leave Kevin Walter, and possibly others, open.

When I'm on the mic, I'm like global warming, you can't ignore me.

by tehGrindCrusher on Nov 4, 2009 9:00 AM CST up reply actions   0 recs

maybe

but its a great matchup, our defense is really good against the pass and my point of having a LB on your TE instead of a safety is a big relief

by thebossuzzi on Nov 4, 2009 9:04 AM CST up reply actions   0 recs

I see what your saying

and it makes sesne but double coverage on AJ could be dangerous with the other WR’s we have. It will be interesting to see how we play/match up against Clark and the WR’s.

Confucius says "man who stands on toilet, high on pot".

by Bobobigbro on Nov 4, 2009 9:09 AM CST up reply actions   0 recs

No doubt losing OD is big

But we have a ton of weapons on offense, so we can find ways to compensate for it.

For example, you’ll likely see Slaton lined up like a WR frequently as well. Assuming he holds on to the ball, he can still tie up a linebacker in coverage and be a threat.

When I'm on the mic, I'm like global warming, you can't ignore me.

by tehGrindCrusher on Nov 4, 2009 9:09 AM CST up reply actions   0 recs

None of those other guys worry me.

There is no answer for AJ. The guy is the best WR in the league. However, the Colts DBs are very good and guys like Kevin Walter don’t really concern me. Daniels as a top TE, but even he didn’t worry me that much. It’s not so much a knock on the Texans WRs as it is faith in the Colts defense. Kevin Walter is a big problem for lesser defenses, but if Jerraud Powers or Kelvin Hayden is on him I like my chances.

by invisibulman on Nov 4, 2009 9:49 AM CST up reply actions   0 recs

No disrespect meant

But Kevin Walter better worry you. He’s a heck of a number 2 and completely capable of taking over if AJ is doubled

True

but be carefull of Joel Dressen our #2 TE starting this week. He is very similar to OD – maybe not as good of a route runner but if he can find the open spaces he can get down field quick. It will interesting to see how he fills in for OD but I think he could take advantage of being covered by a LB.

AJ

is definitely the issue. Megatron ate us for lunch last year and I can’t see AJ going any differently. However he’s not going to beat the Colts by himself. As long as the hinges stay on the rest of the WRs then I feel good about the matchup.

Megatron is basically incoverable (yes, I made a new word).

He’s so tall that whoever was QBing for the Lions in that game (I think it was Orlovsky), just threw it up there and Johnson just jumped as high as he could and caught it. It was very frustrating.

This is a tough strectch for the Colts...

Hou, NE, @Bal, @Hou. Of those four games, the game at Houston worries me the most. That should say something. Any time you play a division rival the game is tougher. The Texans are one of the few teams in the leage who can put up points like the Colts. I think our defense is still better, but this game is far from a lock. I expect to win this game because we are playing at home, but this is up there with the game @ Arizona in terms of nervousness.

by invisibulman on Nov 4, 2009 9:34 AM CST up reply actions   0 recs

Agree. This stretch of games will show if the Colts 7-0 record is legit or because of bad opponents.

Not trying to imply anything at this point. Obviously 7-0 in the NFL is an awesome accomplishment. I just think the Colts needs some wins against quality teams for people outside of Indy to really say, “Ok, the guys really are playing undefeated football.”

hmm

im not sure why people are still using this "the colts have played nobody’ card. Its true, the Colts have some of the weaker opponents on their schedule, but consider this: The amount of experienced vets at core positions on this team have practically seen it all, so its not like they dont know how to win against the greats. I dont think the lack of playing a tough opponent invalidates this 7-0 record as being legit.

no argument there

Maybe I came off a little harsh when I said your trying to invalidate the Colts 7-0 start. I guess I took it more in the sense that it was one of those teams who was bad for many years and are now off to hot start only because they have played some pretty bad teams.

Bob Sanders

Is he healthy enough to play this weekend?

And the games that he’s been in, how was his performance?

by Jordann on Nov 4, 2009 9:29 AM CST reply actions   0 recs

He will play.

He played a little in the Rams game and quite a bit last week. He has been ok. Probably not 100% yet, but still good. They have also used Melvin Bullitt quite a bit as well. Bullitt has been a very capable replacement.

Bobzilla should be in this game

Bob Sanders should be on this game and i am and maybe the only one that believes that he was given the extra rest just to be ready for this game and stretch of the schedule, he played a planed 25 snaps against the rams and a few more last week , i believe you team will be the first team to see a 95%-100% ready to go hard hitting bobzilla this year, i been calling it the pas weeks in STB blog , but no many followers on this one :). we will see.

by Shake on Nov 4, 2009 10:25 AM CST up reply actions   0 recs

There will always be exceptions

The NFL is a passing league, and the best teams can throw the ball and stop the pass.

Look at the worst teams in the league. None of them have a quarterback you’d want anywhere near your team.

But bossuzzi made an absolute statement. Which is not true. As proven by the exceptions.

If the Treasury Secretary doesn't have to pay taxes, then why do I?

by Shake on Nov 4, 2009 10:28 AM CST up reply actions   0 recs

Here's my take

A team can be good without a good quarterback, but it is rare.

If a team is bad, the quarterback is bad. I think you’d struggle to find a team that wins 5 or less games in a year that had a good QB. Which is why QBs get taken so high in the draft…because the teams that need them are not good.

by mgrex03 on Nov 4, 2009 10:31 AM CST up reply actions   0 recs

Agree with the point you are making

It’s just that it has also been proven many times in the NFL that a badass defense can take a below average QB to the Super Bowl.

If the Treasury Secretary doesn't have to pay taxes, then why do I?

But Manning going down for the year would be about the same for the Colts as it would if Schaub went down for the year and we had to rely on Grossman to lead the troops. They’re both clearly the glue that binds both offenses, take them away and both would struggle to move the ball a bit.

Can't agree there

Schaub has the weapons.

But there’s a bigger dropoff in QB2 in your situation from a total team production standpoint. Of course, thats only my opinion.

how much of that is because of the O?

I think our D is getting a ton of help from the O.

Note to self: Insert something witty here.

by bigfatdrunk on Nov 4, 2009 11:52 AM CST up reply actions   0 recs

No doubt our O helps our D,

but it’s not just getting a lead and teeing off on the pass. With Powers, Hayden, Bobzilla, and Bethea, we’ve got probably the best secondary in the NFL. They are all absolute beasts against the pass (Bethea especially is having an amazing year) and Bob can help against the run and doesn’t have stone hands.

So, while our O helps our D quite a bit, the D has a whole lot of talent. They don’t get to #1 scoring defense in the NFL out of a fluke.

Not really that much.

The Colts D is legit this year. They still struggle with teams that have a powerful o-line, but their pass defense is probably the best in the league. They excel even when the offense struggles like last week.

If PM got hurt

indianapolis would be the first to suffer through the apocolypse.

In all seriousness though, Yes it will be bad and given that we dont have a competent back up behind Manning (I really like Painter, but is, after all, a rookie) the offense will plumet into hell. However, I think the Colts could actually still be a contender (for the playoffs at least) if the following happen.

1.) the colts have to sign a veteran QB who is half decent
2.) The Colts remove the no huddle and go to a traditional style of huddle.

The offense would not be nearly as productive, but I think it might be at least OK enough to win some games. It has the talent where only a QB will be needed. Granted the running game is still not where its supposed to be and the line is a little suspect, but I feel the Colts could pull off a NE Patriots if the following two (and the running game) fall into place

OK, he no longer gets the benefit of the doubt...

Singletary is probably one of the most stand-up coaches in the league. Hell, he benched one of the team’s better players last year for committing an usportsmanlike conduct penalty during a game. Two players in the 49ers front 7 suffered leg cramps late in the game…, as ill timed as it may have been for the colts, it’s something that happens fairly often in the NFL especially when you’re asking big 260+ lb bodies to constantly stay in motion defending a hurry up offense all game. I hardly think 2 alleged leg cramps is worth calling one of the more respected men in the NFL a scumbag. I’d say Singletary has earned the benefit of the doubt way more than BigBlueShoe does, so i’m going to transfer his over the Singletary.

My personal opinion

is that it has been a breath of fresh air. Not that anything was wrong with how Dungy ran things. But thats the way it seems to me.

Maybe if anything…….I think its obvious that this coaching staff is only loyal to players who perform……if you start to become lackluster in performance you are either benched or cut…….its kind of nice

It seemed like Dungy was a little too forgiving and waited for some guys to come around who might not have

Better

he is a lot more aggressive in his play calling. And he knows this is his team. He told a starting guy on the d line he needed to loose some weight, the guy didnt loose weight and was cut. Would Dungy do that? doubt it…the guy was a GREAT coach but he had a lot of patience. Caldwell also basically fired the DC and ST coach. replacing them with 2 great ones and now the Colts are doing better in both areas. so just little things he’s made changes to reflect how different he is from dungy.

on offense OC Tom Moore fed Peyton a choice of 3 plays

Peyton would pick one to call, then audible and adjust. Dungy made the choice to go or kick on 4th downs though which (along with more aggressive D) what I think he’s talking about

well I think...

he really left the play calling up to the corrdinators and maybe gave input every once and while. Like Now…Tom Moore gives Peyton 3 plays he can choose from and (I think its 2 runs and a pass) Peyton will look over the Defense and choose the best play to run against it. I think Larry Coyer calls the Defensive plays. But Im not 100% sure on that

just because you don't underestimate him

means you can stop him. Look at Reggie Wayne, surely to God people understand he’s good, but he still throws up 90 yds a game. AJ is the same thing.

OK, I've got a question for you guys:

How are you going to cover Dallas Clark. He’s a matchup nightmare for most opponents, so who do you think should cover him?

I think pollard will cover him most of the time

But ZD could also drop in to coverage once in a while, I don’t see Cush doing it he isn’t fast enough, but does have great hands for a LB.

With a blanket

It will make it harder for him to run routes and make catches.

Seriously though, I would guess it would be a team effort, with both Cushing and DeMeco doing a lot of the work, or perhaps Pollard. Tough assignment either way.

We won't

I think we’ll need to stay heavy in the nickel. None of our LBs or Pollard are remotely capable of covering him, and Wilson probably can’t handle the job, either. We’ll need to use Quin or somebody like that, leaving Frenchy and Dunta (sobs) at the CBs.

It’s the same with us and OD. You either stick a guy capable of covering OD on him, possibly exposing holes elsewhere. Or, you let OD kill you and just try to keep him underneath.

Anyway, as long as Clark can do all this, we’re screwed:

[UPDATE]: BBS here. We need to lock this thread, and any others like it, because the chatter at Battle Red Blog has gotten a bit out of control. Some of the same people we’ve banned from Stampede Blue have taken a similar Fan Post to this one posted over there and turned it into a troll feeding ground. Until things settle down, I kindly ask that you not post over at BRB, and that you not encourage the behavior of some of the posters over there.

Thanks to Tim for making this Fan Post. We always appreciate his insight and his work on the Texans. Unfortunately, some of his readers and main contributors lack Tim’s maturity, and I plead that none of you encourage their asshatery.

Man, I need a life...

Random fact of the week from the empty void that is my mind: Viz Media (The creators of my absolute favorite show of all-time and inspiration to my avatar, Naruto) just announced a partnership with the channel Disney XD to bring the English-dubbed episodes of Naruto Shippuden (The continuation of the Naruto series) to that station with a new episode airing each week, starting, well, NOW. With the series recording I just put on it, this is one of the greatest days I've had in a long time. I'm not kidding. I love the show that much.

It’s a proven fact, no dispute to it. Need anymore proof, just look at you mom or sister’s fingers & you’ll see the difference

I would challenge you to a battle of wits, but you appear to be unarmed.

Well...

unless there’s a secret that your mom or sister has been keeping all these years…

Hi Jay!

That’s all you gotta say about BBS?

Lemme guess, you haven’t started drinking yet huh

Jay only makes 1-2 comments per month

So he has fulfilled his quota for now.

Plus, I’m sure he’s saving up for his next encounter with Bud Adams.
