Dunta Robinson sucks..... discuss
When he is not drawing costly pass interferance penalties, which is WAY to often, he is often seen following players out of bounds or diving at their feet as they run bye. Aside from the occasional hit where he leaves his feet and bounces off a player who has already caught the ball he seems to have lost his coverage skills. This year, to me, he is clearly behind Quin and Reeves and should not be retained for any more than what he is signed to now, refranchise? or let him walk?

Dunta is good in run support, but his coverage is terrible and gets exposed every game. He has a habit of just grabbing the receiver whenever he is beat which is resulting in him getting flagged every game.

Let him walk,
this should be his final season in a Texans uniform.

Poor Chris
We do love ya, man.

Chris
Dunta had better be donating some of that nearly $10 mil salary to Chris. Dude has Dunta’s back every single day, and that’s not easy, considering how the vast majority of BRBers are anti-Dunta.
Looking forward to a day when being a Texans fan doesn't mean that April is the highlight of my season...

Are you related to Dunta?
How can you defend his play? He is not playing good football and he is missing tackles all over the place.

Because he isn't being evaluated fairly.
Contrary to popular belief around here, he’s not “the worst CB in football”, and every other hyperbole that people have tried to pin on him. He’s a mediocre CB (probably about on par with every other CB on our roster) who overvalues himself and worked his way out of fan favor by being a douche.
Every good play he makes gets overlooked around here, and every mistake he makes gets magnified (whereas any DeMeco or Mario mistake gets swept under the rug).
I realize you’re all pissed at him for his off-season whining, but you aught to be thanking him. If he had accepted that contract, we’d be stuck with $21 million guaranteed going towards a mediocre CB. Maybe we’ll wind up with Pollard, K-Dub, OD, and DeMeco instead.

He is being evaluated fairly.
He misses tackles and doesn’t wrap up the runner.
It is a fair and 100000000000000% accurate assessment.
I could care less about anything else. If you aren’t going to wrap up the ball carrier, someone else should get a chance to play. If he corrects that issue, I’m fine with him.

Really?
I don’t think anyone here has actually called him the worst CB in football. I realize you are being a bit sarcastic, but still.
He is, however, currently the 3rd best CB on the Texans. Or at least, IMO.
And I’m not pissed at all that he turned down the Texans’ contract offer. Even as much as I loved Dunta for working hard and coming back before predicted last year, I do not agree with the business-side of offering a recently injured player (who has not yet returned to pre-injury form) a large/huge/enormous contract.
And with all that said, Fuck Dunta for being a selfish and supremely arrogant asshole by not signing his top-5-in-the-NFL-1-year-deal (F-tag) and getting to practice so that he could attempt to return to the gameday-Dunta that we knew and loved in 2007.
Also, I hope he remembered to pay Merick (whoever the fuck that is) after the Jets game. It must have been a very important debt to reconcile if he was willing to put a reminder to himself on his shoes.
If the Treasury Secretary doesn't have to pay taxes, then why do I?

My big thing involving Dunta...
…all the love he gets from the commentary crew every Sunday. I absolutely do not get it.

ya I like how every game they say he is the best cornerback on the team, when thats not even the case any more.

It's bad enough that he gets burned in coverage quite a bit lately...
What really makes me think he needs to go is that he isn’t tackling. Why is it so hard for him to WRAP UP THE RUNNER?
Is there a rule that says if you have those retarded ass dreadlocks, you have to fly through the air like superman?

I've seen several plays where
he actually AVOIDED contact with the ball carrier, when he could’ve smacked the shit out of them and/or gone for the stip.
Goddamn, I hate his fucking guts.

I've seen those plays as well.
I honestly think he avoids contact on purpose some times.

Trying to stay healthy, I assume.
Counter productive, though, if you axe me. Think how many tunes would start to change around here if he, well… you know… made a play here and there each game.

He doesn't suck.
He’s below average. We’re just so used to the old Dunta that his subpar performance this season/last season and all the off-season hijinx he put us through makes us not root for the guy.
He’s not the best CB. But he’s not the worst in the league.

He's way better than Fred Bennett.

Yes. I don’t necessarily want to get rid of him, I just don’t want him to be our number one, and I don’t want to pay him #1 type money. I would just rather have reeves and GQ start.
