possible 2010 HOUSTON TEXANS
I looked through free agency and the reality of the players we would have to let go to make thiese moves.
Texans trade thier 13-15th pick to new england for the patriots 23rd and43rd picks, as the pats have 3 2nd round picks.
Texans have to release Antonio Smith ,Dunta Robinson, Fred Bennett, and Antwan Molden on D.
Texans will have to release Chris Myers, Casey Studdard, Chris Brown, Kevin Walter, and Chester Pitts on O.
Texans signings would be signing Richard Seymour to play DT. Resign Benard Pollard,Demeco Ryans and Owen Damiels. As well get C from Titans Kevin Mawae who would be great leadership with a mean streak at C.
Now to the draft:
1st round - Patrick Robinson - CB - Florida St. - 5'11 194

Do you actually think these off season moves and mock drafts you keep posting are realistic or is this just a masturbatory exercise you felt you should share with everyone every week?

oh smartass
i’m just throwing possible scenarios for next years offseason. Is that ok with you? Does it ruin your day sweetie?
Rumplestiltskin
That doesn’t answer the question. Do you actually think it is realistic or is this just your dream offseason? If you want discussion, which I’m guessing you do since you are posting it for the world to see, the only way I can discuss it is if I know whether this is something you actually think can happen or not. If you do here are the issues with it:
- Keven Mawaawaa is something like 35 years old, and is a dirty douchebag.
- As stated, Pats NEVER EVER trade up into the 1st. If
- If you are going to cut that many lineman, what is the point of Gerhart in the 2nd? If you want a running game next year after cutting half the line you better be drafting lineman in the 1st or second.
- A Smith has played well this year, I have no idea why it would make sense to cut him
- Seymore will probably be franchised.
All I have to do is read that 1st line and know it's not even plausible
The Patriots don’t trade up. Belichick stockpiles draft picks. Heck, I’d be surprised if teams did trade their picks this year because of the depth of this draft class.
Thank god you're not our GM
Invest in a 39 year old center, cut a recently signed free agent acquisition (who’s not playing like garbage), get rid of KW and Pitts, reach a little for Robinson instead of staying pat and taking a shot at Haden or some other player that could fill our considerable holes…..
The only good moves here are ditching Dunta, ditching Chris Brown, and going after a player ike Richard Seymour.
I cannot believe I actually read this.

I feel bad for the guy.
Maybe he just didn’t know better.
Smith is actually playing well. Even better than I expected. He might not have the sack numbers or any flashy stat but he’s doing what he was brought in to do.

the only thing I dont like about Smith is he is a bit of a thug and starts alot of fights. Im all for guys being aggressive, but he just comes off a little dirty to me.

I see what you're saying.
I’ve been noticing quite a number of pushing and shoving involving Antonio Smith and some random OL from the other team. Do I advocate it? No. The intensity sometimes gets to him a little too much and im guessing that some people don’t like it. As long as he doesn’t get out of the line and cost us a personal foul every game, I can live with it.
That's why we have DeJesus as MLB
He stops that shit before it leads to a penalty. (For reference, see “Seahawks, game against”)
Now, if only he could be that proactive with Dunta’s penalties.
If the Treasury Secretary doesn't have to pay taxes, then why do I?
Thank you, Jordann
I think it’s OK to disagree without name-calling.

This all seems way off. We’d keep Smith at DE, maybe move him inside. We still have Bulman, Barwin and Williams at DE. You’d be more likely to see a DT in the Draft.
Also, No way we pick two DB’s up in the first round.
As someone else said, I don’t see us trading much at all. Certainly not with the Patriots.
And as for picking up Mawae AND Seymour?? No friggin way. If Mawa has anything left in the tank, then Tennessee wouldn’t let him go, certainly not to us.

the hell?
ALL for two near-retirement players?
Seriously,
I wouldn’t let Smith or Kevin Walter go… KW gives you a viable #2 Receiver, I mean when Dre was out he stepped up. Smith although does get a little pushier than most players we are used to on our team is performing well. I do advise Getting rid of Dunta what a waste of almost 10 mil. Dunta should just give 85% of his pay this year back to the fans! Houston will pick up a couple secondary a OG, and a NT
Go Texans!
