Texans (Re-)Sign Bryan Pittman, Look At TEs
Via that great newshound Eric, the Texans re-signed Bryan Pittman, news via NFP.
In addition, we tried out a pair of TEs: Tony Curtis and Troy Humphrey.
As Eric so sagely mentioned, it's possible Joel Dreessen is hurt too badly to play (at least this week), forcing these moves.

alright
well i guess we are about to see what thor is made of!
Some people say "If you can't beat them, join them". I say "If you can't beat them, beat them", because they will be expecting you to join them, so you will have the element of surprise.
I wonder what Rick Smith says to these minor signings
Like if he flat out says they’re depth to their faces. Also, do they get like one game check, or do they have to be signed to a 1 year league minimum deal?
Im sure they know. Texans are losing Tight ends so they sign you in the 14th game.....I don't think they are looking for their future.

I remember the start of the season
when we looking around for places to store our spare TE’s. Would’ve thought we’d run out before the season was over?

i wonder
if dreesen’s long snapping had any effect on kris brown? maybe he isn’t snapping well, or the timing is off….any thoughts?

I don't think Dreesen is hurt...
But I think they’re afraid he will be soon if he has to snap for much longer. Just a precaution, in my opinion.
Not according to Koobs
(on if that was their only injury) " (TE) Joel (Dreessen) has a shoulder that’s bothering him, but other than that, we came out of the game OK.
the guy has a C on his uniform
he ain’t movin until the offseason.
Imagine if Kubiak changed kickers, and the FNG missed the game winner.
Mount Cody in round 1
It would be no different than the heartbreak that has already happened this year?

but imagine the blame
that would be bestowed upon Kubiak.
I can only imagine the stones thrown for that move.
It ain’t happenin.
The only way Kubiak comes out lookin like a genius is if the FNK wins the game on a last second 49 yarder. There are several ways Kubiak looks like a reactionary fool for signing a FA kicker in hopes of him actually making game-winning kicks.
Right or wrong for the team in the long run, it would be an enormous gamble by Kubiak, and we all know he’s a very high percentage dude. heh.

True, the HB pass is high percentage.
Oh wait you already banned yourself from commenting on that one.
How could anyone blame Kubiak for cutting a guy who already cost us 1 game and a shot to win another? I just don’t see it.

Things Are Bleak
When Bryan Pittman is getting another shot here. The guy’s coming off a suspension for violating the league’s substance abuse policy (which could be due to him having lesser lawyers than Kevin and Pat Williams), but he was pretty bad during the last several games of his tenure in Houston pre-suspension. The cupboard for long snappers must be rather bare.
Looking forward to a day when being a Texans fan doesn't mean that April is the highlight of my season...
Agreed
Pittman should have immediately moved to Minnesota when the charges came out.
If the Treasury Secretary doesn't have to pay taxes, then why do I?
Would've Ended Poorly For Both Of Us
When I focused the direct examination on having Pittman explain that snap to Matt Turk in the ’07 San Diego disaster, instead of addressing the whole banned substance thing.

Ladies and gentlemen of the jury,
I am going to prove that Bryan Pittan, Texans Longsnapper, is not only guilty, but he’s innocent of being not guilty!"
Yay, sports.
Pancakes
Long after the NFP reported the signing of Bryan Pittman (and fatboy claiming on 610 AM this morning that Joel Dreessen shoulder was fine and the Texans had NOT signed a long snapper that he knew of!), he pushed away from his grove of twinkies long enough to report on the (re) signing of Pittman.

grove of twinkies?
washing it down with a six-pack of Dr Pepper….
I suppose if all of the stars, moons and planets align it could be possible, but what are the chances of that?
