2nd Half Game Thread: Houston vs. St. Louis

quick poll
the people who have already decided whether Kubes should stay or go.
If we look worse in the second half than the first, does that change your mind from “he stays” to “he’s gotta go”?

Im not blaming Kubiak because Dreessen dropped a ball, Foster fumbled, or Brown decided to suck again. What is the guy supposed to do when multiple players decide to suck hard when given a chance to make a play?

If the team was actually fighting like last week than I could buy that argument again,
but this week I cant buy the “players are the only ones to blame” argument

cant buy it because why? Did Kubiaks play or coaching make someone fumble? Did it make a guy drop a pass that hit him in the chest? Did it make our secondary decide not to wrap up?

I really thought he was losing the team a bit...
but couldn’t seem to make a convincing argument one way or the other. These last few games are a microcosm of the last two years. Up, down, up down. He has to go, regardless of the outcome.

Listening to fans, you’d think this is the worst we’ve played all year, yet we have over twice the total yards as the Rams and, now, a 3 point lead. Don’t get me wrong, we could definitely play better than this, but 320 yards of total offense versus 150 for the other guys, isn’t really all that bad.

As a fan. do we really want to win this game and let kubiak retain his job. This is just embarassing…Imagine if we were actually realistically in the playoff race and lost this game. Thats why Kubiak needs to be gone. Like the Raiders game last season, he always gives us the let down game. Enough of this shit.

Had a play like that a year or two back
Bad play on D grabs the nuts of the RB as he’s being run over. As the RB falls to the ground he deliberatly kicks the D player.
By right they should both be ejected. But we let both stay in the game. It seemed unfair for on team to lose a #1 RB and the other a 3rd string DE cause the bad player was dirty.

I suppose if all of the stars, moons and planets align it could be possible, but what are the chances of that?

A question for Texans Fans
What would you have been thinking if..The Texans lost to the Rams today? A loss to St.Louis would have enraged us considering how we are still in the Playoff race.
i think we all would think Kubiak would have been fired.
Todays ugly win against the worst team in the league shows what kind of team the Texans are. A Mediocre inconsistent team with the worst running game in the league.
by Chris89 on Dec 20, 2009 3:21 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
If the Texans lost today it would have been the worst loss in franchise history
Reason 1: Its the Rams
Reason 2: officially eliminates from the playoffs
Reason 2: ensures another non winning season
Reason 4: its the Rams
Reason 5: its the Rams who didnt have practice on Thursday
If we lost I think people would still support Kubes because the players made a few mistakes and people dont like the uncertainty of a new coach.

I’ll admit I don’t want to give up on a guy who is seemingly so close to breaking through to go with a complete unknown who could come in and fuck everything up. Unless you think that Kubiak is going to tear this team apart in the next year, I think there is a very very strong argument for giving him one more chance.
