Ha!
I scooped you all by a couple days! LOL!
I suppose if all of the stars, moons and planets align it could be possible, but what are the chances of that?

but yeah, you beat us both

(on if it’s a distraction that offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan has been rumored to leave the Texans in the offseason if his father, Mike Shanahan, gets a head coaching job) “I don’t think so. I think we all know that’s part of football, and as far as Kyle – (or) any coach I have, I want what’s best for them in their coaching career. But I think we’ve all known all along that if Mike (Shanahan) gets back in the business here in the next year, which it looks like he will, that his son coaching for him someday is very important to him. I’ve known that, and that’s fine. Kyle has done a great job and will continue to do that. We’ll see what happens. You never know what happens in this business, but we all want the best for each other.”

While you guys are all falling all over yourselves
You know that we’ve all been talking about this happening forever. The SECOND that Mike Shanahan was fired from Denver, a chorus of us were saying that Kyle was going to be gone when he got his next job.

I view it more as Kubiak's offense than Baby Shan's...
If anyone on the offensive side needs to be replaced it’s RB coach Chick Harris. RB Coach since day 1 and now all we do is fumble.

This team won't skip a beat
when Baby Shan Jr II leaves. The new guy will put a deposit on the Kubiak playbook…maybe bring a little something to it, who knows. Maybe Chick will be the new OC???

Fumblerewski put in the playbook…it will work if we did it

Any chance we hire an actual OC instead of "promoting from within"?

Since Coach Kubiak and Shan Sr both know all the same people
The Texans will be competing for the same guys for OC. Somewhere, the two of them will have to have a handshake and agree who gets who…just throwing that out there. It is possible.

I guess Shanny Jr is going to the Redskins, maybe that widens the field for Kubiak

Wouldnt you think that if Baby Shan leaves for Poppa Shan's team
It would only be for the OC gig. Why would he leave an OC gig to take a lower job, even if it is for his father’s team?

It would have to be only for the OC gig, like you say.
But man, it’s just so foreign to me that he’d want to go back to his dad. He’s only what, 29? There’s plenty of time for him to coach under his dad after he’s made his own way… but I guess Kyle figures his OC job under his dad will be his last job where he’s not the HC.
I don’t think it’s going to be a huge loss, but I’d prefer we keep him.

I dont think Kyle would want to coach under his dad after he has made his own way
I think it is weird that he would leave one OC gig for another, but Im assuming he feels like he can still learn more from poppa than from Kubes, which doesnt surprise me at all.

Kube's C.Y.A.......
Just my opinion on this, but I think this is Kube’s insurance or C.Y.A. I mean last season he fired what? Two or three defensive coaches after their 8-8 run. After seeing that last year – I suspected that he would be severing ties with offensive coaches if the Texans performed worse or at the same level of mediocrity in 09.

Despite our running woes
I would say our offense has been better. Fewer yards perhaps, but more scoring in the red zone.

shan jr
who would want him? the only way he gets a job is daddy or his daddy’s debtors. Ive seen some of the worst play calling this year than i ever have. there are too many to name(half back pass 1st and goal), down 17 4th q run 3 plays up the middle punt wow let daddy have him but daddy won’t let him oc he wants to win!!

I think kyle stays
I know his dad will want him, but sometimes keeping a little distance from dad is better for becoming your own man. If he wants to be a HC then more time away from dad would be good. He also needs some experience on the D side of the ball. (this is the only point on which Bill Belichick and I will ever agree.)
