Bengals

But that was set up early in the game (and all season) by having him blitz from that position when we did the weird 3-3 nickel with Barwin standing. Bush seemed to know Palmer would go to the slot on that, so he just had Cush run to the ball. I guess my point being he hasn’t had an INT where he was covering a man and just got underneath to pick the ball off.

Yay, sports.

by MDC on Dec 27, 2009 12:49 PM CST up reply actions

Side note:

That play was, by far, the highpoint of Bush’s playcalling IMO. Setting up a smart QB like that because you knew he’d see the trend on tape and then waiting until late to drop Cushing so that Palmer got comfy? Brilliant.

Yay, sports.

Is this correct?

B/c I heard the same thing MM just posted on the radio yesterday.

Yay, sports.

by MDC on Dec 27, 2009 12:54 PM CST up reply actions

The only way Cincy losing is good

is if Baltimore wins because then you have the chance of Baltimore winning the AFC North and Cincy falling into the wild card race (where we beat them).

However, if you’re rooting for a Baltimore loss then it doesn’t matter because Cincy wins the North with a Raven loss…and in the case, we’ll always hold the tiebreaker over Pittsburgh….so it’s more or less the same situation.

by TexansDC on Dec 27, 2009 12:56 PM CST up reply actions

Yeah. I think the perfect storm would have been a cincy loss and baltimore win, because it’s probaby more likely that the Jets put up a better fight than the raiders, unless the jets beat the colts…. my head hurts.

by MadMartygan on Dec 27, 2009 12:57 PM CST up reply actions

The problem there is

The Jets beat us in a tiebreaker, so we want them out with a loss to the Colts….which may ruin their resolve.

The Raiders play well against good teams and at home, so I think they’re more dependable.

OK here's your playoff picture. You need to win out and then:

You need Jacksonville, Miami, NYJ, and Pittsburg to lose one

and either the Broncos or the Ravens to lose their last two.

As it is impossible for me to root against my Broncos, I’ll hope for the Ravens to lose their final two games.

Pittsburgh is the only AFC team we own a tiebreaker over.

by TexansDC on Dec 27, 2009 1:06 PM CST up reply actions

Plus

We’re playing Miami and have to win to stay in it, so if we win we won’t need them to lose anymore. So all we need is for the Jags to lose to the Pats as they’re already doing, the Jets to lose to the Colts later, Broncos lose to Eagles, and Ravens to lose vs Pitt…. All of those games could very well come out our way and if they do we’ll head into next week just needing a win and either Denver or Baltimore to lose…

It Won't In The Second Half

When we use it every snap.

You trying to tell me

This team can’t play 2 great halves in a row?

I dunno what team you’ve been watching all year…

im glad ESPN was sucking his nuts before the game

cause they were really getting on my nerves

Some people say "If you can't beat them, join them". I say "If you can't beat them, beat them", because they will be expecting you to join them, so you will have the element of surprise.

Yes

But keep an eye on the Bengals just in case. If Baltimore wins, hope that the Bengals lose.

No doubt

Steelers can win out if they want. Doesn’t matter, as we have the tiebreaker over them (due to common opponents W-L)

Gotta hold them

a Dolphins TD gives them momentum, and it’s back to a 3 possession game. I HATE that we couldn’t get a TD in our last redzone opportunity.

Patriots up 28-0 on Jax

Still tied at 0, almost halftime for Bengals/Chiefs

Steelers with the ball up 13-10 on Baltimore.

Exactly

The Dolphins are a run oriented team, in order to come back in this game they’ll suddenly have to find a passing game from nowhere.

Wow

Cowher is almost wetting himself over the Texans first half… With the rumors that he’s interested in the Texans job if it opens flying around, and now his reactions and comments about the team, I almost get the feeling that this is the job he wants to come back to. I still think we should keep Kubiak, i’m just sayin…

That Cowher wants back in and that two possible landing spots were Tampa Bay and Carolina. No mention of Houston.

If Kubiak was let go and he was offered the job

I think he’d take it in a heartbeat. This team is extremely talented and extremely young, he would have to rebuild in Carolina, this team is already built for the most part.

That said, I doubt seriously Kubiak is let go, especially if they go on to win this game as they should. I don’t think our owner would fire Kubiak after taking a team that had been nothing but losers to 3 straight .500 or over seasons, nor should he.
