He took over the Texas game.

Watched that game and it seemed the announcers were calling his number every other play. My Lady and I were joking that McCoy is going to be have nightmares about number 93 for days to come. Drive by 93rd street and scream, see 93 degrees on a thermometer and scream(I seem to remember that’s his number, if not forgive me, ya get the gist though)….lol

The new Nigerian Nightmare.

Frankly, he’s a beast. He’s only 300 lbs, but he’s got explosive burst, great speed, and he never stops playing. I posted his numbers earlier, but 19.5 tackles for loss and 12 sacks means this kid is causing havoc in the backfield. He’ll be a great pro.

by TexansDC on Dec 7, 2009 7:29 PM CST reply actions

His numbers

82 Tackles, 19.5 for a loss, 12 sacks (19 hurries), 10 Passes Broken up, 1 forced fumble, 3 blocked kicks, and a pick.

I don’t advocate trading up, but this is one instance where I wouldn’t complain. Although, this draft class is deep and the Texans could fill a lot of holes if Rick’s on his A game.

Make that 2 picks.

I know for a fact he had two picks. Don’t forget him being a fullback in the Gator Bowl, not sure what year, but was watching YouTube videos the night Husker posted this. Also the touchdown out of the TE position. I forget who that was against.

Just my $.02

Those are only his senior year defensive numbers through 13 games.

I’m sure if we added up career numbers that it would just be gaudy.

by TexansDC on Dec 9, 2009 5:30 PM CST up reply actions

Agree

I’m sure they would be.

Career Stats

56 games played. 36 started.
113 tackles. 87 assisted tackles. 200 Total
49 Tackles for loss for 229 yards.
3 Forced Fumbles and 1 Recovery
6 Blocked Field Goals
15 Deflected Passes
4 Interceptions and 34 QB hurries

Had the TD catch vs. the Jayhawks his JR year. Played FB off and on in short yardage situations his JR year.

also to amend what I thought was correct but is not, he isn’t Nigerian. His Dad hails from Cameroon (border connects with Nigeria). Mom is Jamaican His name translates to House of Spears.

Looking forward to not having an 8-8 year!

Perfectly fitting for a guy like him

Awesome

He's only 300lbs

but if a team decides not to double team him, he will abuse any but the most elite O Linemen. The thing thats lost when you look at him in regards to the NFL is that “Only 300 lbs” makes him seem like a smaller D Tackle. He is fast and agile but he’s ridiculously strong as well. One of his perks is also his ability to think during the play. You will see him read and eat screens, fakes, traps, and reverses and he has an uncanny ability to swat down passes. His eyes are always on the QB and he times his jumps perfectly. I envy whichever team gets him. He just won the Defensive Player of the Year and is up for just about every college award a defensive player can qualify for.

Looking forward to not having an 8-8 year!

Agree

One of his teammates on the Husker offensive line said that once he gets inside you and under your pads your done, he’s moving you where HE wants you instead of the other way around. Even though you outweigh him by 50 lbs or more.

as much of a fan that i am of UT

If'n I Was Voting...

1. Gerhart
2. Suh
3. McCoy

Looking forward to a day when being a Texans fan doesn't mean that April is the highlight of my season...

by Tim on Dec 9, 2009 9:42 PM CST reply actions

I'm starting to think it'll be...

…Ingram or Suh.

Personally, I don’t want Ingram to win. Gerhart’s stats put Ingram’s to shame while Ingram was benched against Auburn for Richardson.

I think I’d go Gerhart, Suh, McCoy.

by TexansDC on Dec 9, 2009 9:43 PM CST reply actions

yes

i would trade demeco and our first rounder to get this guy.

Suh

is currently in the lead for heisman voting by a razor thin margin over Gerhart
