Bruce Matthews Newest Texans Coach, And Patrick Ramsey About To Sign With Texans?
Two quick notes so you all can chime in with your thoughts:
-Bruce Matthews becomes a Texans coach, thus completing the circle of life. And if it causes Bud Adams to choke a little, all the better.
-Patrick Ramsey? Already?

Patrick Ramsey
and Antonio Smith. Interesting. Apparently they had tried to grab Ramsey last year – which may be why Sage wasn’t moved last year.

Geez
The efficiency and precision of this offseason so far for the Texans is just scary. Maybe Smithiak really does lurk around these parts.
I would say the same for DGDB&D, but I’m betting Kubes isn’t giving Matt any web hits after the whole “Rhonda & the blessed cock” fairytale.

I wonder
Intersting timing. How much correlation do you think there is between hiring Bruce Matthews and his nephew, Clay Matthews Jr., who happens to be a draft prospect on the Texans’ radar?
Let's get the Texans a better fight song.

I was thinking the exact same thing.
I strongly believe we’ll take Clay Matthews Jr. now. I just hope we’re able to trade down (possibly even out of the 2nd round) to get him.

Not too late
I don’t think Matthews will still be there in the second. Supposedly the entire league is talking about Clay’s upside, and I think if we’re counting on him being there in the second round we’ll be dissapointed.
Let's get the Texans a better fight song.

Clay is 20th and Cushing 21st on the latest scouts Inc top 32, he is on the rise
It is no secret that Clay is a gem and he is going to be a player in the league. No way does he drop out of the 1st round. We may be able to move down 5 spots and still get him, but he is a lock to go in the 1st round.

Clay Matthews/Bruce Matthews
I really don’t see it happening. I’m imagining that Clay will play for whatever team drafts him no matter who the coaches are. And isn’t Clay Sr a coach in the league already. I’m happy that Bruce wants to get into coaching, and I imagine that the OL will be able to get plenty of nuggets of wisdom from him, but I don’t think this has much bearing on our draft plans.
That being said, it breaks my heart to see an OL coached by Munch dominate us year in and year out (And they are always pretty good under him), now the sting is much less.
