tony gonzalez to the falcons - draft implications?
with perennial pro-bowler gonzalez - far and away the most talented offensive player for the chiefs - traded away to atlanta - traded away, do you think that this changes anyone's drafting strategy and maybe our trade prospects? atlanta's GM said that this trade meant that they were going to draft a defensive player in the first round. i don't know their needs but does this raise the possibility of trading with the falcons if they see a defensive player at 15 that they don't think will be there at 26? and do we think that any player we want would still be on the board at 26?
as for the chiefs, i think every mock draft i've seen has shown them taking a defensive player, usually a linebacker to anchor the new 3-4 they're trying to install. does this trade change anything? the chiefs have the #4 pick, and might scott pioli look to add one of the first round receivers for matt cassel to throw to? that could only help the texans, but how likely do you think this is? this is the first year i have paid close attention to the NFL before the draft so i know next to nothing about this whole process - what do you guys think?

Tough to Say
The only thing I’d be sure about is that this trade means the Falcons ain’t drafting Brandon Pettigrew. After that, I have no idea. It’ll play out once the picks start flying off the board.
Looking forward to a day when being a Texans fan doesn't mean that April is the highlight of my season...
