SITE NEWS: The 2009 NFL Draft On BRB
As you may or may not know, there's some draft thing this weekend. Seeing as how you're reading this, you may be interested in hanging out around these parts as the proceedings get underway on Saturday at 3 p.m. CST. Accommodating dorks that we are, we'll be open for business throughout the weekend. Here's the plan:
-An open thread, similar to what we do on game days during the season, will post to the main page at 8 a.m. CST on Saturday. That thread will be live until your Houston Texans go on the clock/make a pick/make a move which, if they stay at No. 15, would occur around 5:15 p.m. CST. If the open thread gets loaded with comments, we'll start more open threads as necessary.
-After the Texans do whatever it is they're going to do in Round One, we'll have a separate entry proclaiming a trade, or a "________ Is The Newest Texan!" post. After the Texans make their move, we'll then post another open thread to take us through the next Texans move. Thus, there should be separate posts for each Texans selection or trade, as well as a bevy of open threads in between them.
-Now that we've upgraded platforms on SB Nation, the Comments refresh automatically. In other words, if you're in a post or thread, you'll be notified (in real time) in the lower right hand corner of your screen whenever a new comment posts. This should essentially make each thread a running conversation. Make sure to use the "Reply" links and "Z" key (which takes you to the new comments you haven't read yet) judiciously to stay up to speed as the Comments update.
-Finally, and most importantly, I'll repeat our axiom here at BRB: This site is what it is because of all of you. You keep it interesting. You keep it running. So let your opinions be known this weekend. Love a pick another team made? Post a comment. Hate a pick? Post a comment. Wondering what the Texans were thinking with that second-round selection? Post a comment. If you haven't registered as a user here yet, do it! Join the community. We'd love to have you.
That's about it, folks. We'll be rocking it through the seventh round on Sunday night; hope to see you here. Questions? Let us know in the Comments below.

And, just as in the gameday threads
…I expect to see numerous vaguely homoerotic references to Steve Slaton. Bonus points for using the words ‘meth’ and ‘Tennessee’ in the same sentence.

Does "Methopotamia" count?
And shouldn’t there be bonus points for sentences that don’t have Tennessee and Meth in the same sentence? It seems like a much higher degree of difficulty.

Methopotamia
is the preferred nomenclature at DGDB&D and it should be over here as well, imo.
It’s true – shooting fish in a barrell is too easy. Bonus points for finding more creative ways of referring to our Tennessee neighbors.

they signed Petey
and they drafted VY 3rd overall.
Oh, and the face stomper isn’t trolling their defensive line.
They are doing a pretty good job of demeaning themselves.
But there is the issue of their record last year…

I hope this is not prophetic

sadly I'll be sans internets tomorrow
but I’ll be here for Sunday’s fun.
Thats where we’ll pick all our pro-bowlers anyway.

The third and fourth is where we shine
That’s why it sucks that it stops after the second and gives everyone a chance to regroup. The Texans, and other smart middle round teams, had an advantage with the third round being on the first day. I’ll be sans internet on Saturday and Sunday both…might get some radio time in.
