Basically, he wants an assurance that they won’t franchise him again. I’d tell him to eat it.
Looking forward to a day when being a Texans fan doesn't mean that April is the highlight of my season...
Easy.
We’ll sign you if you’re good.
If not you’re on the road. No worries here! Now get the f to camp.
by DisplacedTexan on Apr 25, 2009 3:46 PM CDT up reply actions
he will hold out
if they don’t agree to NOT use the franchise tag a second time, might miss games…
Houston has to agree
not to place a tag on him next year. If they don’t agree to that, he won’t show up to training and might miss games.
Copy/paste?
What are we talkin’ bout here?
Oh and let me outline MY terms for Dunta:
-Take a big swig of “Shut the fuck up”
-Prove to me you’re worth money
by DisplacedTexan on Apr 25, 2009 3:45 PM CDT up reply actions
pasted beginning
if the Texans will agree to not place the franchise tag on cornerback Dunta Robinson for a second consecutive year in 2010, he will sign his one-year tender and report for the offseason conditioning program.
If the Texans don’t agree, Robinson will not report until the start of regular season at the earliest and might even miss some regular-season games.
Revised terms from DT:
-Stop being an insufferable twat
by DisplacedTexan on Apr 25, 2009 3:47 PM CDT up reply actions
Russell Athletics commercial
Center had a false start on fourth and inches.
And With That...
I think the Dunta Robinson Era in Houston is officially over.
Looking forward to a day when being a Texans fan doesn't mean that April is the highlight of my season...
Fair.
The request is fine. It’s his mannerisms and attitude I have a problem with.
by DisplacedTexan on Apr 25, 2009 3:49 PM CDT up reply actions
He Can Demand All He Wants
The Texans hold all the cards. Smithiak should tell him to get bent. Don’t show, and you get fined. Don’t sign the tender, and you get nothing. Thanks for playing, Dunta.
Looking forward to a day when being a Texans fan doesn't mean that April is the highlight of my season...
Agreed.
Shit, I’d say we should draft Vonta Davis out of spite, and ship Dunta to the Toronto Argonauts.
by DisplacedTexan on Apr 25, 2009 3:48 PM CDT up reply actions
Dunta: the biggest quesiton of all
Why did Fatty Pancakes release this article right now? Smacks of cooperation with Dunta’s agent in order to fuck with the team on draft day. Do this any other day except fucking draft day.
You think the team didn't know?
I’m sure his agent has delivered this request to the team already.
Dunta has handled himself in a truly unprofessional manner. And I really dislike that.
by DisplacedTexan on Apr 25, 2009 3:50 PM CDT up reply actions
Frankly I'm not sure. But Pancakes chose to release this today, at this hour, for a reason.
It wouldn’t be in his interest to release NFL news on a player we already have on the day of the draft unless there’s something else going on. There’s a reason he did it today.
I wouldn’t be surprised at all if this is news to the team.
An interesting thought...
And certainly worth considering. That would actually further lower my opinion of him. I don’t like games.
It’s definitely a curious action…
by DisplacedTexan on Apr 25, 2009 3:53 PM CDT up reply actions
not sure it benefits Dunta
cuz we’re probably gonna replace him with a higher pick than if this article came out tomorrow
Smushiak will take us to the playoffs in 2009.
It would be stupid to change your board at this point in the game.
Hopefully they had a contingency plan for something like this happening.
he talked to him at the event he, Andre and DeMeco hosted
so he got the quotes this morning, did the pre-draft chat, then wrote the article.
SUCH A BENGALS DECISION
Enigmatic talent with character problems.
2 QB's and a lot of offense
so far, does benefit us, yes
Smushiak will take us to the playoffs in 2009.
What is Dunta's trade value? If we can get a 2009 #2 today for him, right now, we do it.
Would we trade him for a 2009 #3?
by oiler-texan diehard on Apr 25, 2009 3:51 PM CDT reply actions
I think that's about right...
depending on final records. Like a 2009 first pick in the third is probably not a 2010 second. But, generally, yeah.
Yay, sports.
Raji...
Still there. Trade up! Who’s with me!?
I was all over that last week, call Al Davis NOW
by oiler-texan diehard on Apr 25, 2009 3:53 PM CDT up reply actions
Del Rio loves D linemen, this may be our only chance
but if Crabtree is still there, the Jags need some WR’s not addicted to blow
by oiler-texan diehard on Apr 25, 2009 3:56 PM CDT up reply actions
Will Sanchez play in Week 1?
I’d like to see Mario personally welcome him to the NFL
by goingforthecorner on Apr 25, 2009 3:53 PM CDT reply actions
Because he isn't that good?
But it will be fun to say…. “Mario performs the Dirty Sanchez!”
by DisplacedTexan on Apr 25, 2009 3:56 PM CDT up reply actions
Sanchez's interview on ESPN

by goingforthecorner on Apr 25, 2009 3:54 PM CDT reply actions
I think he's at his agent
and they share the same agent, maybe?
Smushiak will take us to the playoffs in 2009.
Raiders
Blow me away every year. They like shiny things. Surely they won’t take Maclin/Harvin
13 TD in his entire college career. TROY WILLIAMSON
Al Davis is the worst owner in history.
Oakland
Is so ridiculous that it’s beyond comprehension. You deserve this, Al Davis.
Looking forward to a day when being a Texans fan doesn't mean that April is the highlight of my season...
TRADE TRADE TRADE!
Holy shit there is value all over the board. Go go go! Go get Crabtree! Go get Raji! I don’t care!
I was a little pissed...
that Cartman used that over and over. I’ve been saying that for years, dammit. Now people will think I’m ripping off SP.
Yay, sports.
Worst Part?
Is that Crabtree could become a Jag. Don’t want to face that dude twice a year.
Looking forward to a day when being a Texans fan doesn't mean that April is the highlight of my season...
Jags have to take Crabtree, right?
Then GB takes Raji
He weighs enough...
that he could play 3-4 nose. But I don’t know that he’s a perfect fit.
Yay, sports.
NO Suprise
Michael Lombardi has been saying this for two weeks…..he used to work for al davis
OMG
CRABTREE IS STILL AVAILABLE!!!! OMG OMG OMG, PLEASE TEXANS PLEEEEEEAAAAASSEEEE!!!!!!
You are doomed to fail as their HC
And you will never get another HC gig, with the exception of Norv
best thing
the OT run hasn’t begun.
We are in great shape!
Smushiak will take us to the playoffs in 2009.
Jacksonville
Now gets Crabtree or Raji. You know Denver’s praying they get Crabs.
Looking forward to a day when being a Texans fan doesn't mean that April is the highlight of my season...
Fucked a chick...
who by most measures probably SHOULD have had crabs. Not the…most chaste…woman at the bar.
Yay, sports.
Clay3 is still available!!!!
oh, wait, we’re gonna reach for him, nevermind.
Smushiak will take us to the playoffs in 2009.
ORAKPO IS GOING TO BE A TEXAN!!
CRABTREE, MACLIN, JENKINS, RAJI, ORAKPO, MONROE, OHER ALL STILL AVAILABLE Texans have no reason to trade down.
God it would be so hard to pass on Orakpo.
Orakpo over the best non-Curry LB on board?
Lots of trade up stuff here
I still say you hold on and hope to trade down. Why won’t the value make it down?
- Rivers McCown
Weigh value
is what you lose in picks worth what you gain in a quality player?
For someone like Crabtree or Raji i say “YES YES YES!”
by DisplacedTexan on Apr 25, 2009 4:03 PM CDT up reply actions
still too many holes to go after crabtree
wouldn’t be as opposed for raji.
- Rivers McCown
by riversmccown on Apr 25, 2009 4:04 PM CDT up reply actions
risky risky risky
especially if there’s a guy we covet where we pick newayz….ooohh man, i’m getting soo antsy right now. My pits are sweating
JAX please take an OL
to start to scare people into a run!
Smushiak will take us to the playoffs in 2009.
Mariucci is a moron with this Holt argument
Signing Holt is not a reason to pass on Crabtree.
This draft is starting to look like one of those irrational mock drafts done by an overzealous fan
Truly best case scenario for us so far.
Assume Oher and Crabtree sit there at #10
Who does SF take?
I'm kina pissed
That J’ville might take Monroe. i was hoping he continued to slide to Green Bay
You know... for kids.
Eugene Monroe
meet Mario Williams and Demeco Ryans
Advantage: Always Mario
Even against a hurricane named Ditka
- Rivers McCown
by riversmccown on Apr 25, 2009 4:07 PM CDT up reply actions
Hilariously awesome.
Raji AND Crabtree AND Orakpo are on the board! Make a balls-out move, Kubes. Get someone.
-Raji plugs the middle
-Crabtree makes us Madden-offense-like
-Rak gives us sick flexibility on the oustide.
AGREED
GET UP THERE KUBIAK STUPID CONSERVATIVE A&M FAG
holy crap
Raji and Orakpo are still there….oooommmmmgggg
Monroe
Nice, solid pick by JAC. I’d much rather have to deal with him than Crabtree.
Looking forward to a day when being a Texans fan doesn't mean that April is the highlight of my season...
Next Two Picks
I’m calling Raji to GB, then Crabtree to SF.
Looking forward to a day when being a Texans fan doesn't mean that April is the highlight of my season...
thats worst possible scenario
isn’t it?
Smushiak will take us to the playoffs in 2009.
no I guess
Raji / Orakpo is worst
Smushiak will take us to the playoffs in 2009.
That's worst-case scenario for us
I hope one of them takes Oher
Absolutely no way we should draft Crabtree
WR wasn’t our problem last year. DEFENSE!
by goingforthecorner on Apr 25, 2009 4:08 PM CDT reply actions
BPA vs. Need
Usually you still take BPA. But if you already have a stud at the position…hmmm…
- Rivers McCown
by riversmccown on Apr 25, 2009 4:09 PM CDT up reply actions
Our problem on offense is turnovers
will another WR address that problem? I don’t think so. A short-yardage back would though.
by goingforthecorner on Apr 25, 2009 4:11 PM CDT up reply actions
if by short-yardage back
you mean “qb that doesn’t helicopter spin”, agree.
- Rivers McCown
by riversmccown on Apr 25, 2009 4:13 PM CDT up reply actions
the weirdest thing just happened
I think the NFL draft just got me hard… :/
are there two more OT's
in position for a run?
We are in excellent shape if there’s two out there.
Smushiak will take us to the playoffs in 2009.
Don't Think So
It’s Oher, and then a sizable drop off.
Looking forward to a day when being a Texans fan doesn't mean that April is the highlight of my season...
raji = packers
Smushiak will take us to the playoffs in 2009.
Right now
Roger Goodell is whispering to Monroe:
“Dude, you know that Mario Williams plays in the AFC South right?”
You know... for kids.
Here's how it goes down:
9 Packers: Raji
10 49er’s: Crabtree
11 Bills: Oher
12 Broncos: Wells
13 Redskins: Maybin
14 Saints: TRADE DOWN
15: TEXANS: ORAKPO!??!
Please.
Get him off the board. I want him as far away from our pick as possible.
by DisplacedTexan on Apr 25, 2009 4:12 PM CDT up reply actions
Eisen:
“He’s the first offensive tackle they’ve taken since their last one…”
still holding out hope
we can deal down with TB for freeman

I guess he really is haunted by Gholston.
Which I think is unfair. Orakpo actually produced in college
I am sitting down, closing my eyes
and hoping sooo much that he’s there at 15.
I'd flip out.
No kidding. i’m a massive UT homer AND he’s awesome.
by DisplacedTexan on Apr 25, 2009 4:18 PM CDT up reply actions
if u guys were watching the NFL network stream
a really cute Kay Jewlers commercial came on…awww
Turn in your man card.
Head over there to MDC and hand it over.
by DisplacedTexan on Apr 25, 2009 4:16 PM CDT up reply actions
Hey, now...
based on my activities of less than two weeks ago, I think my mancard is safe for a fucking while.
Yay, sports.
He's turning it in to you.
But glad to see law school really honed your reading comprehension.
by DisplacedTexan on Apr 25, 2009 4:19 PM CDT up reply actions
and the bills are on the clock
Smushiak will take us to the playoffs in 2009.
49er Fans
Must be going “Are you serious? Crabtree dropped to us!? HAHAHAHAHAHA!”
Great Pick
Now they pick up a QB in 2010, and they’re on to something.
Looking forward to a day when being a Texans fan doesn't mean that April is the highlight of my season...
Oh my god this is going so awesome. I hope someone takes Oher...
I just talked to a Redskins fan who is a friend of mine and he wants Orakpo or Oher, so that’s what theyre thinking. Kind of the same deal as the Bills.
shit
that girl in the white dress takin a pic w/ crabtree’s family is FIIIIINE
If that's true....
Make the deal, take ’Rak, and think sweet thoughts of raping the QB from all sides of the line of scrimmage.
by DisplacedTexan on Apr 25, 2009 4:29 PM CDT up reply actions
i would have thought so too but
http://thegoodbyeladiesdraftreport.blogspot.com/2009/04/2009-nfl-draft-defensive-end3-4-rush_19.html
this study made me re-think that.
- Rivers McCown
by riversmccown on Apr 25, 2009 4:29 PM CDT up reply actions
If Orakpo is there at 15, do we want to trade down?
by oiler-texan diehard on Apr 25, 2009 4:27 PM CDT reply actions
Depends on who else we want.
I’d entertain it, but it would be hard… Antonio Smith’s contract is reasonable but we’d basically be throwing him away.
No, Smith moves to DT on passing downs, we NEED an edge rusher
by oiler-texan diehard on Apr 25, 2009 4:29 PM CDT up reply actions
True...
…but do you want to go the Giants route with the ultimate rotating defensive line? It would be awesome if it worked out that way… put me in the “I favor” column, although if we could get a second rounder out of trading down I’d want that.
Nah...
Smith could kick inside on third and Orakpo could play some SLB and some DE. If Kubes, et al, have some sack, that is.
Yay, sports.
I Think It's A Non-Issue
Orakpo ain’t getting past Washington.
Looking forward to a day when being a Texans fan doesn't mean that April is the highlight of my season...
yes
then again i did not go to UT.
- Rivers McCown
by riversmccown on Apr 25, 2009 4:28 PM CDT up reply actions

But I think Michael Oher is gonna be there at 15.

Brown moves to RG?
by oiler-texan diehard on Apr 25, 2009 4:30 PM CDT up reply actions

but the pick makes sense
b/c they don’t have Cutler anymore, so they need a good weapon the switch it up.

BULL SHIT!!!!
omg when I heard, “Washington rushes to the podium,” my boner died.
Not with the value on the board
I’m sorry, there are still players to be had. Trading down seems like a waste right now, imo.
by DisplacedTexan on Apr 25, 2009 4:34 PM CDT up reply actions
Oher
Is gonna be there for us at 15. Wow.
Looking forward to a day when being a Texans fan doesn't mean that April is the highlight of my season...
Honestly
I have no idea what’s going on right now.

We take Oher and our OLine just got better, but is that the smartest move?
by oiler-texan diehard on Apr 25, 2009 4:35 PM CDT up reply actions
WOW...
Maclin is still on the board. Go for him at 15, if he’s still there? I know there’s a love-obsession with Jenkins and CIIII, but this would be a GREAT VALUE pick.
I predict we still take Mathews
this whole draft is a big tease
ugh
seriusly i am DEFLATED, Orakpo ….I just shed a tear. trade down texans, grab an extra pick…sigh
I think we're trading down with
Denver. Thats what my info says.
The details are sketchy, but I think we’re getting an extra 3rd.
Smushiak will take us to the playoffs in 2009.
Dear Smithiak
Please not Jones or Jenkins or Cushing.
That is all.
