The Newest Member Of The Houston Texans Is Antoine Caldwell
Welcome to Houston, Antoine Caldwell. Caldwell played at the University of Alabama in the toughest conference in collegiate football. Caldwell is known for being great with strong and sizeable DTs, but has problems with speed. Several scouts stated that he was the highlight of Alabama’s Pro Day.
I think it was a little early, but there was a run on interior offensive lineman so Caldwell probably wouldn’t be there in the fourth. Caldwell is an intelligent player, which is necessary for a zone blocking scheme. Overall, I’m happy with this pick. Let us know what you think.

"Caldwell is known for being great with strong and sizeable DT’s"
That’s the best thing I’ve heard all day. Slightly less important now that Haynesworth is out of the division, but either way, all roads lead through Wilfork or Hampton.
Chris seems to have more insight into this. Either way, everything I’ve read makes me pretty stoked about this pick. After the center run between the end of the first and mid-second rounds, I was worried we wouldn’t be able to upgrade on day two. But this pick sounds like great value.

Like It
He should improve the OL, which, while not as pressing a need as other areas, certainly never hurts.

I freaking LOVE this pick.
Absolutely LOVE it. He’s a leader, he’s versatile, great work ethic – and um – he’s going to replace either Myers or Brisiel as the starter – so I’m on board.
I’m also very, very pleased we went O-Line before RB.

You beat me to it Chris, this is an outstanding pick, Love it
Two time all SEC center. 6’3" 309. Nuff said. He will be starting either at C or RG, probably by game 1.

Betting He'll Start
But let’s see how he picks up the ZBS.

so the question is
(if he starts, and if he does so at center) do the Texans move Chris Myers over to RG? I think the general consensus is that Myers is a better lineman that Brisiel.

But Does Myers Have The Size To Play G?
I don’t know.
