Anthony Hill Is The Newest Texan?
I knew this before now, but it's more than official: I have absolutely no idea what the Texans will do from pick to pick. Anthony Hill?
Well, at least he's a native son. We can build on this!

this pick baffles me
I did stay up all saturday night drinking and I haven’t yet gone to sleep, but I am still confused. Can anyone make sense of this? I understand we need blocking in the red zone, but wouldn’t it be better to draft an RB first?
No RB
Makes sense if the Texans have decided Gartrell (or someone else who they can get later) is their guy. I don’t have a problem not drafting a RB yet.

What the hell was the point of signing Dreesen?
If we were so set on drafting a backup TE anyway???

I Can't Answer That
I’m guessing it’s because they think Hill is an upgrade over Dreessen…an upgrade they didn’t think they’d be in a position to get?

People keep saying this
And I understand the point, but Dreesen was re-signed before we knew we would get a replacement in the draft.
The real question is “Does it really cost us anything to cut Dreesen?”. That is of course worst case, if we can’t get a late pick as a trade.
Blocking TE
“Although Hill is extremely limited as an athlete his value comes from his ability as an inline blocker. In fact, he’s our top-rated rblocking tight end. He possesses brute strength at the point of attack and can push defenders off the ball.”
Bruener Replacement
The Texans said that they were looking to replace Bruener with another blocking TE. No surprise with this pick
