Texans Sign LB Buster Davis

PrintThe newest member of your Houston Texans is Buster Davis. Unless you are an NFL personnel junkie, your reaction is probably the same as mine: Who??? Yes, I read that he and Mark Berman (not Chris Berman's brother) came in for visits this week, but I didn't pay much attention. Apparently Smithiak liked what they saw because he has been signed to a 1 year deal for the very reasonable price of $445K. Not a headline maker like the signing of Cato June would have been, but it's not a cap buster. We are thin at LB and need depth. He is young and will battle it out in camp for a backup spot.

My bad, the other LB was Tyjuan Hagler, Berman was the Fox reporter who reported the story
For all I know, Mark Berman is Chris Berman’s brother, and I have no idea who Tyjuan Hagler is either. My only excuse for this stupidity is I stayed up too late last night watching the Rockets fold in the 4th quarter to Kobe Bryant and the Lakers. Need more coffee. I sure could use an edit function, then maybe I could mask my buffoonery.

I remember listening to Davis
in an interview on Sirius he did before he was drafted. I liked what I heard back then, but I haven’t really followed him since. If nothing else, it’s kinda cool having a linebacker named Buster.
