Johnson is the pick here.
Washington broadcasted this pick when they cut Jason Taylor and didn’t sign anyone else worth starting. DE is a deep position in this draft and the Redskins will almost certainly end up with Johnson, Maybin, or Ayers. They may even have a choice between all three. Any one of them would be a solid addition to go alongside the much overpayed Haynesworth.
"There was a pretty good group of free agent quarterbacks out there and, after studying them all, I liked the fact that he's young and I like the fact he's a mirror image of the guy we have (Matt Schaub) so when we're coaching Matt, we're coaching him, too." - Gary Kubiak on new Texans QB Dan Orlovsky
Matt Schaub = Safety Dan. We're in trouble.
Funny story about Tom and Giselle if anyone is interested…

The redskins need help at DE…they are picking somebody here to fill that spot. They might be stupid, but they just spent 100 million on a guy to clog the middle and now they need to find somebody to take advantage of it.

Dude...
Big Al made even Javon Stinkin Kearse look like a spry 24 yr old pass rusher. The Injuns can put me out there and get double digit sack production. And by “production” I mean “crotch sweat.”
I’m filthy.

I don't fully understand
Why anyone would be picking Oher here. The Redskins tackles are aging but they certainly aren’t terrible, in fact Washington needs a new guard and center before it needs a tackle. I think they could justify taking someone to replace Jansen at RT in the high-mid rounds, but not with this first pick. And despite being a very talented player I don’t think Oher is even the top athlete on the board at this point. No one is explaining this pick either, all the comments have been about Johnson…and Tom Brady??
And If nothing else the hole at DE still needs to be filled, and even though beef is right about Haynesworth making people look good putting a solid end next to him would make his acquisition look brilliant, or at least worth the $100 mil they dropped for him.

I went Oher...
In short, because I thought him to be the best on the board.
I couldn’t think of anyone else on their line, other than Jansen, and he’s older than dirt, with a pretty rough injury history, of late. Bottom line is, if they can’t find a spot on that line for Oher this year, it gives them the option of letting one of their aging dudes go in ’10, as Oher gets aclimated.
I think 13 is too high for Johnson, even considering how he tested, but I did consider Ayers. Again, just thought Oher was the best one listed.

Best on the board (given) cause...
It was my stinkin’ opinion, chief. Which I stated.
