OD News and D-Line News
Unsigned restricted free agent Owen Daniels skipped Texans OTA practice Tuesday due to displeasure with his contract status.
GM Rick Smith says "we're in the middle of negotiations" about a long-term deal. "He's well within in his rights not to be here," Smith added. "We wish he were working out like he had been, but we understand." Daniels has until June 15 to sign a long-term deal or he'll play 2009 on his one-year tender.

Texans second-round DE Connor Barwin is expected to play opposite Mario Williams on passing downs.
Antonio Smith will kick inside, allowing the team to get its best pass rushers on the field together. Barwin will also back up Williams in base packages. The Texans expect him to make an immediate contribution as a nickel rusher. via rotoworld^

As long as Smith is aware of this
there should be a deal done. Lord knows we don’t want OD running around unhappy in camp.
When I'm on the mic, I'm like global warming, you can't ignore me.
