The Houston Texans and Fantasy Football
The fantasy football magazines are coming out and there are several Texans in the spotlight for fantasy football players to consider.
For those of you who play fantasy sports let’s run down who you should be looking at from the Texans this year.
WR Andre Johnson: Rated in the top 5 amongst wide receivers in the NFL, if you can get him do it but don’t expect him to last into the second round of the draft.
RB Steve Slayton: Rated in the top 15 amongst running backs in the NFL, that being said I am in three leagues and Slayton has not lasted past the first round in any of them (no, I didn’t get him except once). With a healthy backup his carries will drop this year but I believe his actual value will increase.

Schaub and Daniels are probably the Texans’ best values in fantasy football. Johnson and Slaton will score well i’m sure, but 1st round picks are supposed to score well. You can get Schaub and Daniels somewhere around rounds 4-5 usually depending on league size and both will be high scorers for their position when they’re on the field. I’m surprised at how little interest fantasy owners seem to have in Daniels, I can only guess it comes from the Texans simply not getting the coverage of some other teams because Daniels is by far one of the more attractive TEs in fantasy football.

A lot of leagues
don’t have a specified TE spot, more of a TE/WR or TE/WR/RB spot – in which case it makes a lot more sense to go with another WR or RB.

As a side note
If you look at O.D. production over the year, his catches and yards dropped alot as Slaton began to emerge. Slaton is the #6 back off the board, while Schaub is still way under drafted, and O.D. is still over drafted.

How's this for a swing and a miss...
Feel free to let Mr. Del Grande know what you think. I added the second comment.
