Introduce yourself here
This little corner of the internet has attracted quite a few new names lately. With the season about to start up, I thought it might be a good idea for us to introduce ourselves to one another. I've seen other sites on SB Nation do this and it seems to bring out a lot of people. Perhaps we can even convince a few lurkers to register and contribute. Just share as much information as you feel comfortable sharing.
I'll go first. I was born and raised in Houston but I live far away in a hot, dusty place now. I've been a fan of Houston sports since as long as I can remember. I went to my first Astros game with my dad back in something like 81 or 82 when I was 8/9 years old. I've supported the Houston teams, with the Astros and Oilers being my favorites, ever since then. I kind of gave up on pro football when the Oilers left town but I immediately became a Texans fan when it was announced that the NFL would return to Houston. I watched the first game agains the Cowboys and have since watched every game I can, which was unfortunately not that much once I moved overseas. However, the innernets have been a blessing and last season I was able to catch every single game on my trusty laptop.
Outside of following sports I like to play sports and really like action-type sports. I used to be a backpacking/climbing guide and climbing, along with surfing and skiing, are my greatest passions in life (outside of my wife and two sons). I also like playing guitar, cycling and poker and I'm a wannabe barbecuer. I'm kind of a dilettante, I suppose.
Besides the Houston sports teams, I also follow Ajax Amsterdam, the greatest soccer team in the history of the galaxy.
Hope to hear from everyone else out here, including perhaps a few lurkers.
Go Texans!

I'm in the navy and stationed in San DIego.
Grew up east of Houston in Beaumont area. I normally post on here during the football games. Have always rooted for the hometown Houston pro teams. Broke my heart when the Oilers left town. I really am looking forward to this season… Hoping that the next few years will be bright for us.
Not sure if anyone on here does but it would be fun to set up a free fantasy league to have something else to talk about on here…

Another lurker.
Name’s Bob. I began reading this blog daily around the time Jake/TT became a full-time poster. I’m a franchise-long fan from Minnesota, so sites like this, DGDB&D, and HDH are (or, in DGDB&D’s case, were) a godsend for me, being so far away from my team.
The [Expletive Deleted] Jared Allen game was the first Texans game I was able to attend. I didn’t realize Schaub got hurt until I saw Rosenchoppa was in to begin the second half, but I did see a dude in a Bryan Pittman jersey!
I’m 20, and in addition to the Texans, I’m a Wolves fan and tennis enthusiast.

Welcome To Everyone
And thanks to TGC for starting this thread.
My family moved to the Houston area when I was a kid and, with the exception of college, I’ve lived here since. I didn’t realize how much I liked (won’t say loved, because I was much more of a basketball nut then) the Oilers until they were gone; I guess I took them for granted. I’ve been in the tank for the Texans since Bob McNair won the bidding war for the expansion rights, and the unhealthy obsession has only deepened each season.
In terms of other sporting interests, I’m also an avid fan of the Horns, Astros, and Rockets.

I enjoy the Texans most of all
I root for all the home teams. That is my MO where ever I have gone in my life. So, I have a lot of teams that I still follow all over the country. That includes, Boston, Pittsburgh, and Syracuse teams. Now that I am here, I root for all-teams Houston, UT, Rice baseball, anything state of Texas for that matter. I was even tracking Lance Armstrong in La Tour De France and was able to catch a few of the key races live online. I got here after the Oilers were gone, so it makes it easier to be on the Texans bandwagon.
It will happen

Came to Houston in '90...
…and came to stay. Immediately, I adopted the teams in town and have lived and died with them along the way. Football is my passion, (I played for twelve years) but I share a love and appreciation of all sports.
I really enjoy this site. It seems that we have all been chomping at the bit for this season to get under way. The first day of camp and the place was packed with people like us, gazing with hope and wonder at the assembly of talent, daring the Houston summer in the hope for our team’s place in the sun.
This is a new history being written. I think we all know this and we’re ready to take part.

I am a 16-year old high school student who plays football and baseball in Houston
I came to BRB because I am a huge UT fan and got connected to Burnt Orange Nation. I am a born and raised Houstonian so I am a fan of the Houston teams. I wavered as a Texans fan a little bit when Vince went to Tennessese, but came to the realization that I should be a Texans fan. In all honesty, I am curious to see this blog during the season because I feel like Texans fans are not always honest with themselves about the team. Although we should be good this year.

Good that you overcame your demons with regard to Vince
It’s best to let that one go.
Personally, I think that this blog, the now-defunct DGDB&D and Houston Diehards are seriously, positively critical. You won’t find any blind fanboys here.

Thank you for welcoming me
The fanpost "The Breakout Season, or “I’m blinded by Battle Red, White and Deep Steel Blue” is kinda what I was talking about. We are a wild-card caliber team, but not an elite team. That poor guy is going to have a rough season if he thinks we are going to the SB or something which he kinda implies. I would LOVE it if we made to the SB, but thats not happening with this team this year in the AFC. The NFC anybody has a chance not so much in the AFC. I say we go 10-6 and us making the playoffs will come down to those tiebreakers

I’m a 47 YO and have lived within 100 miles of downtown my entire life (except 6 yrs in the military). Grew up an Oilers fan, and hope that one day the Texans reach the exalted status of Bum’s teams. Managed to attend the famous 1978 Oilers pep rally. Beelze-bud killed my love for pro football until the Texans arrived. I have been a Texans fan since they took the field.

It Was Insane
But it was awesome. There were so many people in the dome we couldn’t get within ten feet of the backs of the seats on some mid-level (can’t remember). We never even saw the field, and could only listen to the activities. The rafters were full of guys who had climbed up to get a view. It’s a lucky thing that no one was crushed by the crowd, and one of those events that could never happen today due to all the safety rules in place.

Hi, I’m bfd, and I like kittens, puppies, long walks on the beach, and beer.
Growing up, my religion was literally the Oilers. The ’rents were season ticket holders, and I missed one home game over almost a decade (the 1978 Steelers/Oilers home game). One of my best memories was when Earl destroyed the Fins on a Monday night, ending with that 80-yard jaunt. I was there.
When the Oilers moved, a piece of me was stolen. I’ll never, ever root for the BE-SFs for anything except to die.
Oh, and I love boobs.

Great topic TGC
I’m blessed to have been born in Texas City, moved to Baytown in infancy and have an avid sports fan for a father. He’s from NYC (oil industry brought him to Texas) and loves Baseball, Basketball and Hockey. He wasn’t big on football when I was young, but I now take him to a few games each year; my way of returning the favor for him taking me to hundreds of games, some of them landmark events: First game in the Dome 1965 Astros-Yankees, MLB All-Star game same year, UH-UCLA NCAA hoops ~1966 when Hayes et al broke the Bruins 44 (I think) game winning streak. That game elevated the status of NCAA hoops forever.
Moved to NJ for HS, and California for college, but found my way back to Houston 9 years ago and have a Texans PSL. I’m an avid follower of all Houston pro teams and everything UT. Don’t know exactly what it is, but nothing gets the primitive juices flowing like football. I find the ’Stros and Rockets extremely entertaining, but nothing puts me into a maniacal frenzy like a good Texans (or Horns) game. I love making noise at the home games, because fans like me ARE the homefield advantage.
Only been to one Oilers playoff game, the WC game vs the Seahawks in the 90’s, and absolutely cannot wait for the next one. With some good luck, this year could be the year.

Hard to match an OT win in the playoffs for pure excitement
I was off a bit on the year, it was the 1987 season, game was in January ‘88. I didn’t have a great seat, field level, corner of the end zone, about 10-15 rows up. One of the problems with the Dome was that the seats were not elevated above the field, so it was hard to follow the action at the other ens of the field. Reliant has much better sight lines. Can remember other games sitting field level in the Dome on the sidelines and not being able to see over the players standing on the sideline.
We flamed out big time in Denver following the win over Seattle (thank you Jerry Glanville for the Stagger Lee) but that day in the Dome remains a great memory.
Cheers TGC

Im Alex
Twenty year old civil engineering student in San Antonio, Texas. I’ve been to Houston once in my life, and I have only been to 2 professional football games, one the ‘04 Super Bowl In Houston that my mom bought scalp tickets for my 15th birthday, and the other being the Saints v Lions here in San Antonio after Katrina. I played football in high school, but didn’t start religiously following NFL stuff until probably 06. I lurked here for over a year before starting to comment. I was, and still am, a giant nerd, and hated sports until my father forced me to play football in the 8th grade. I play way too many video games, read too many books, and occasionally throw in some Dungeons and Dragons.
I occasionally follow basketball (go Spurs), I play rugby but don’t follow it, and hate baseball with a fiery, zealous passion. I rejoice every time one of baseballs great hitters gets caught with roids and everyone is all aghast.
Started liking the Texans on a whim, because I cheer for the underdog all the time. It went from casual cheering to more advanced fandom as time went on. The Texans are the only team I consider myself a fan of.
My dirty secret is I rarely, if ever, get to watch the Texans. They are never, ever on in San Antonio. On campus, I only get standard Time Warner Cable, so there is no NFL network or Sunday Ticket package. Jerks.
Speaking of which, this season, if anyone wants to get together for Texans games in San Antonio, let me know. I don’t have shit on Matt’s BBQ, but I can cook a mean burger.

Native Houstonian
My name is Chris and I was born in April of 1965, the same week the Dome was dedicated. I attended countless Astro games there, including the Mike Scott no-hitter that clinched the 86 NL West pennant. Loved the Oilers growing up, but Dad was a “college football is better than pro ball” kind of guy, so I didn’t get to go to Oiler games until the Jerry Glanville era. Favorite Oiler moment: Earl lighting up the Cowboys on Thanksgiving Day. Oh so sweet. Rockets fan too. Favorite Rocket moment: Hakeem taking David Robinson to school during the 95 playoffs, right after Robinson had been named MVP of the regular season.
Oh, almost forgot. I absolutely, positively, unreservedly HATE Dallas. Nothing unhinges me more than running into some obnoxious Cowboy fan and finding out that they are native to Houston, still living here and stealing breathable air from the rest of us.
I feel really good about the Texan’s season this year. The thing that scares me is that I think it’s going to take 10-6 to make the playoffs in the AFC if you don’t win your division. Gonna be an interesting ride.
Go Texans!

That game was amazing
When they gave the (undeserved) MVP award to Robinson right in front of Hakeem. I’ve never seen anyone play basketball like Hakeem did that day. It was otherworldly. Great memory.

My name is Andy
and I’m an alcoholic a Texans fan…
I’m 24 years old and am getting ready to start my third year of law school. I grew up in Sugarland, then moved to Houston around middle school. I played football at Memorial High School for four years. After that I went to small college in Iowa, which means that for four out of the first five years of the Texans existence, I didn’t get a chance to watch many Texans games.
By the time I was old enough to start following football, the Oilers had already left, so I turned my attention to the Aggies. I still root for the Aggies, even though I didn’t go to school there. After I moved back to Houston, I started reading DGDB&D and Battle Red Blog, and that’s when I really started to follow the Texans. Technically, I’m still a contributor at Texans Tailgate (hence the name, Tailgate Andy), but none of us have posted there since March.
I’m a bandwagon fan of the Astros and Rockets, meaning that when they get to the playoffs, I start following them closely, but my main sport to watch is football.

I'm returning to the Motherland
My name is Buck and I grew up an Oilers fan out in the Hill Country. I’ll save you the long sordid details of the suffering involved with my fandom. I moved to Houston for work in 2001 and have been a fan of the Texans from the get-go. I moved to Portland, OR in Dec. of ‘07 but am getting transferred back to Houston at the end of the year, just in time for the playoffs. It’s good to know a little more about folks as well as meet the new ones. Oh yeah, the Cowboys suck.

I have been in TX for 12 years and Houston for 5, I’m still a huge Broncos fan, but have grow from indifferent to the Texans my first year here to looking forward to my 3rd season as a PSL holder. Of course getting rid of Dom Capers helped bring me along, and of course hiring all of my Old favorite Broncos coaches too. I actually track the Texans a lot more than the Broncos now. “Mostly because I gave up on this season for them”
PS I have always hated the Cowboys!!

Living in Memphis
So I get to see two Texans games a year.
I grew up in Houston, played baseball at CLHS and UH, then after a short stint in the minors, left for various cities to pursue my career.
Early childhood was in the DC area, and Dad was a Skins fan, so I have a long, extensive history of deep seeded Cowboy hatred. Never really got on board with the Oilers, but when the Texans came into existence, I was all in.

Hello everybody!
My name is Brad. I spent the first 19 years of my life in The Woodlands and the last 5 in Austin. Lifelong Houston sports fan by blood: Dad was Astros bat boy in 70 and 71 then worked at the Dome for years thereafter, including time as the big scoreboard operator. My Texans fandom burns deep due to an unhealthy love of football in general, as I am a Longhorn as well. Was an Oilers fan before (name redacted) moved us to (city redacted), but I have been devout to the Texans since the day of our conception. I have only been able to attend 3 games: Reliant opener (preseason vs Ricky’s Dolphins); 2004 season finale shit-brick vs Cleveland; and spectacular 2006 victory vs Colts.
I became a member of this blog right after it became part of SBN, and used to comment much more frequently. As is, I still visit daily and comment every now and then. This community is one of the best in SBN, and I am seriously looking forward to this and the next few seasons. Something special is brewing…

Little Late
I meant to do this the othr day and then completely forgot. My name is (wait for it) Jake and I’m a native Houstonian. I grew up a few miles away from the Astro Dome and attended several games growing up. I hate to do this to everyone, but i have to say that the most poignant Oilers memory for me was watching every second of the playoff game against the Bills and Frank Reich. I still think that karma owes us one for that.
I started coming to BRB after a friend showed me the Steelers SB Nation site. I’ve been a fan of the Texans since their inception, but their first season was also my frst year in the Marine Corps. I have been to only one Texans game ever (a thrashing at the hand of the Chargers in 2007) but have watched as many as I possibly could between deployments.
When I first came to the site I was postig as TransientTexan due to my love of the team from different places, and Tim was gracious enough to offer me a place here. I changed my name to Jake partially because I’ve become so familiar with so many of you. I love this site because it gives so many of us who are scattered to the winds a collective place to talk Texans football. I can’t wait for this season and I know everyone else can’t as well.
Thanks a lot tGC for starting this post, it was a great idea.

Well, my name is Sean, I am 22 and I grew up in Houston. I just finished college in Virginia where I majored in spectacularly useless English, but because I also took a lot of Russian classes I’m starting school again in the fall to study Russian translation, which hopefully will get me a job doing… something, I guess. I must admit I haven’t been a sports fan for most of my life, but when I started college in 2005 I figured it would be good to at least learn about football so I would have something to talk to the dudes on my hall about.
So yeah, my first season actually caring about a sports team was the wonderful 2-14 Texans season. But out of that pain grew kind of an obsession with the Texans, and now I obsessively read blogs and stuff.
I take a passing interest in other Houston sports teams but honestly I am not really a big fan of any sports other than football and hockey. I also like the Maple Leafs, by the way.

Craig Biggio led off the NLCS with a homerun to left field. Been hooked ever since. Gotta thank all my friends for introducing me to the other world known as sports. Thanks all for lowering my chances at getting into a good college! LOL.
But seriously, sports so endlessly mirrors life. So many ups and downs, but the ups almost always trump the downs in my book. Well, most of the time. Okay, maybe not. But they’re still awesome as the moment occurs.
Why am I trying to be a philosopher? I’m coming off as such a wanna-be right now. Damn.
BRB was a godsend for me. I can honestly say I’d be way less knowledgeable about the Texans and sports in general if it wasn’t for this site and SB Nation in general. Well, that assumes I know anything about sports. Fuck.

I'm Bob
Grew up in South Texas. Went to one NFL game in my life: Oilers/Bengals mid-70’s. Lived in Houston from ‘81-’83 going to one NBA game (Rockets/Sixers) and one MLB game (Astros/Phillies) during that time. Graduate of UT, I found this site via BON. Lived in Arizona when Texans played Cowboys in first game; watched at a bar wearing Texans hat I bought at liquor store (still wear it all the time). Not a Rockets fan because I am a Spurs fan. Other than that, love all things Houston and University of Texas. Everyone else sucks. I am 47 years old and live in Corpus Christi.
p.s. My screen name refers to Don Hardeman, FB in the mid 70’s. Played at Texas A&I in my home town Kingsville (3 consecutive NAIA national championships) and then for the Oilers.
Tonight I'm Gonna Party Like It's 1975. Don Hardeman ROCKED!

My name is Jordan
Well my name is Jordan. Used to hang around DGDB&D. Since it’s been difficult for BFD, Matt and Eric to keep up with the blog they’ve decided to shut it down for good. So I gotta get my Texans news somewhere right and we all know the comicle isn’t the place for that. Can’t wait for Vega’s reaction when he comes back lol. Anyways i’ve always been around here but never really bothered to comment because I keep forgetting my username and what not. Im pretty sure i’ve commented here before I just dont remember. Oh and im also banned from Stampede Blue for calling Bbbbbraaad out and talking about manning and his gigantic forehead. It’s gonna be hard to limit the talk of Filipino Tranny Porn and the cussing but i’ll do my best.

Name is James
I am a fan of all teams Houston. Football is my sports passion though and the Texans are my team. I have been in Houston since I was born in 1974. I grew up watching Earl Campbell, Carl Roaches, Warren Moon, Lamar Lathon, Ray Childress,…you get the idea.
I am also a big ‘Stros fan. I haven’t been as big a fan of Basketball since the league went criminal back in the 90’s, seems like it’s one big prison league.
I have had the pleasure of meeting quite a few of the Texans players at events around town and they seem like genuinely good guy. I never feel concerned about introducing my boys to Texans players and pointing them out as role models. I can’t say the same of the Rockets unfortunately.
Anyway, TEXANSFOREVER!

The Astros are my wife and the Texanns are my mistress. I guess the Rockets would be the dead philipino tranny in my trunk. Came here as a BONer back when it all started. Spent some time trolling DGDBDM. All around BAMF.

Hope to see you more active around here in October/November
For those who don’t know, there was a time back when BRB first came into existence a few years ago that only about 6 of us were around to comment. And I’m pretty sure 4 or 5 of us all linked over here from BON during the first week or 2 of BRB’s existence in the interwebs. Hell, it was back when we thought Scott was a real person.
And if I’m correct we all have UIDs in the 20s & 30s. So it’s always good to see an “old-timer” (like TPL, LVG, BTBD, & BFD) back at BRB. Anyone overloaded by acronyms yet?

Born and grew up in the Houston area
Didn’t care much for sports until I went to UT and got brainwashed. (Is it really brainwashing if you know it’s going on and you like it?) Then I graduated in ’06 and decided it was time to pick an NFL team to follow. The choice was obvious.
I live in Austin now, where sometimes they show Texans games and sometimes they decide “nahhh, they’re playing the Raiders this week, let’s show the Titans instead.” You would think this practice would cease once VY started riding the bench, but…

I'm a Broncos' convert
Lived in CO during my youth, and have followed the Broncos religiously ever since. Through many ups and downs.
I moved to TX at a young age, but kept my allegience to the Broncs. I’ll continue to root for them, but the owner has finally turned me off. I’m fed up with Mr. Bowlen, and since I’m so familiar with the product that is growing in my own backyard, switching my allegiance to the Texans is a natural fit for me.
I had always followed the Oilers and Texans, as secondary interests. Screw the Cowboys, however.
The Texans are my #1 team now, no matter what. I’ve already walked the plank, and forsaken those Mile High Mules. Detox is hard, though. I’ve beaten myself up plenty, for jumping teams. But we do have a fine organization, and an up-and-coming team that still deserves more love, even at this point.
I’m one of the more optimistic Texan fans you’ll find. My love for the brand of football that Koobs has brought with him, is only a part of that. I recognize that things change in a heartbeat in the NFL. And I feel that people will need to get used to a successful Texans team really soon, here. We have a very nice talent core.
Judging by many of the attitudes and comments I’ve seen here, most of us are very pessimistic about the Bulls. It is deserved, I suppose, but I also have to consider the sources, and realize that we’re Houston fans, and have been fooled and tempted so many times before.
But as a former Bronco fan, I have loved what I’ve seen Kubiak building, here. Good things are happening, and will continue further. Enjoy 2009, my new friends!

Ballsy
I just cant give up on my teams from Atlanta. As much as I wish I could, because it is tough to follow several teams. But, like I said, it is too hard to follow teams for 15+ years and just stop because you moved. Even then, I followed Houston teams though. So, it is what it is by now.

I’ll still follow Denver. I think they’ll have more success this year, than most are expecting. I just don’t have the love for them that I used to have. The actions of their front office are weak and unjust.
Jerry Jones, Danny Snyder, Al Davis, and Pat(riot) Bowlen. Peas in a pod.

Welcome, Cut Block
I wouldn’t say I’m pessimistic; I would say that I’m cautiously optimistic. I think this is the year the Texans finally post a winning record, and contending for a wild card spot is a realistic goal as well. I won’t say divisional title…yet. I still have too much respect for the Colts for that.

Great idea, GrindCrusher!
I moved to Houston from Atlanta in 1993. I always had family out here, so I rooted for teams from both cities. In fact, I still do. I learned of this site from The Dreamshake last year. When I was finally fed up with how awful things had become at Clutchfans, I went looking for a replacement. From The Dreamshake, I found this site. I did my fair share of posting and jumped all over the opportunity when Tim asked for help writing. And now here we are.
In terms of teams, as I said I still follow teams from both Atlanta and here. You don’t cheer for teams for the first 15 years of your life and then just stop because you moved. I am an avid Rockets fan and have been in The Red Rowdies for the last two years. This is the 5th consecutive year of being a Season Ticket holder for The Texans (And I do love me some tailgatin’! If anyone is in the Yellow Lot, give me a shout on gamedays). I really only follow baseball during that lull between the end of the NBA finals and NFL training camp. I could care less for Hockey, Nascar or soccer.
That about sums it up.

On here a lot, and will be again once the season starts. Like Riott (1 or 2 Ts?) I’m a Texans fan in San Antonio, where every TV station’s sports director has his schnoz firnly ensconced in Jerry Jones’ sphincter. The Cowboys suck out loud. Really, it even makes a slurping sound.
I was a huge Oiler fan until Bud the pud, he of the terrible toupee, took the team to Tennessee (4 or 5Es?).
Looking forward to the season. Hay speaking of the season, I think we aren’t playing the aforementioned Clownboys this preseason. Anyone know why? Or am I wrong?………Nah!!!!!

Another (mostly) lurker
I’m Jordan. I moved to Houston from Boise, Idaho (Note: no pro team :)) for college and my second year the Texans’ came into existence, and figured I finally had a good reason to adopt an NFL team as my own. I’m now up in New Jersey now getting a PhD and am just kinda hoping the Texans will have an away game against the Jets or the Giants sometime in the near future.
I’ve followed battleredblog, and particularly the game threads, for quite a while, but just signed up somewhat recently because I had some truly fascinating comment to make about, well, where I could find a stream of a game on my laptop (they don’t show a whole lot of Texans’ games up in the Northeast).
by killtacular on Aug 9, 2009 12:50 PM CDT reply actions 0 recs
Ok my turn
I figured since I finally had to comment, thanks to the travesty that is the Oilers throwback jerseys, that I might as well do this. I grew up about 45 minutes south of Houston and have been a huge Houston sports fan ever since I can remember sports. I currently reside in Austin, but I’m going on year 3 of being a season ticket holder and will be at every home game. It feels good to finally get in here.

Name's Brent...
I chose Texanmaniac as my “blog” name simply because it was the first thing to pop into my head when I signed my first blog comment on Jmac’s blog.
I’m turning 38 this November, I was a die hard oiler fan as a child up until they left town, and I too didn’t care much for NFL until I heard we were going to get a new Team and then was happy. However I wasn’t completely sold on the Texans until I missed the cowboys game, due to it being just weeks my house burned to the ground. I wanted to watch those first few games badly, but every sunday I had pressing issues. The new house was built and I remember listening to Marc Vandermeer describe the 24-6, 46yd win over the Steelers and I was hooked.
I’m a Registered Nurse, I own Texans Scrubs that get lots of praise from good patients and some negative comments from patients that I just have to tolerate.

I started following the Texans back in 2002 when I bought my PS2 and my first copy of Madden. Taking the expansion team to the Superbowl.
I’ve never been to the States, but have always loved Football ever since I saw “Everybody’s All American” with Dennis Quaid when I was 7 or 8.
I coach a local Semi Pro team, well did until I moved for work. I also Officiate a lot and was selected as one of three New Zealanders to go to Australia in January to be Back Judge for the Junior World Cup qualifying match. New Zealand won and played at Canton about a month ago. Losing every game convincingly. lol
I’m hoping to come to Houston for a game or three in a few years.

Names Matt
Born and raised in Houston. I’m 20 currently going to college in Vermont of all places where there are no sports to watch. But anytime a Texans game or Rockets game or even an Astros game is on, you can bet i’m watching it. I’m a die hard Houston sports fan. I’ve been a member on here for a few months. I found out about it when I typed in houston sports blogs and found this amazing place. And now it is a constant distraction for me at work. By the way, i work for Jim Adler (the Texas Hammer) and that man is a sports nut too. He has season tickets to the Texans, Rockets, and Astros. When he’s not here he raffles them off to his employees. The only bad thing though is he has season tickets to the Spurs and the Mavericks as well. boo!
All in all, I love this site. its a daily habit for me to check it. and when the season starts it will become a serious obsession.

Looking forward to a day when being a Texans fan doesn't mean that April is the highlight of my season...

First post here.
Big Houston sports fan, I check this blog every so often. Nice to be introducing myself. Thanks for the welcome mat.
Once, a gang of fat girls threatend to beat me up for not cottoning to their advances, as they explained to me, boys can usually beat up girls, but there's a lot of us, and we're all fat.

I like long walks along the beach and the 4-3 defense....
Texans season ticket holder since the beginning. Anything Astros, Longhorns, and Texans, I can go toe-to-toe with most fans/bloggers with one opinion tied behind my back. Weekly caller into at least one of the local Houston sports radio shows – “Robert from Kingwood”. Excited about this season and the opportunities that abound. Moreover, I have a 5-year bet that ends this season with my best friend who said that if the Texans make the playoffs before 2010 season, my game ticket and plane ticket are paid for to the first round game! Hoping to collect!

Welcome, Robert
I’m betting everyone here at BRB is hoping you collect on that bet come January.
