First Round Pick Brian Cushing Injured
Edit: Bumped to front page (bfd). I think it's safe to blame Tim.
First-round OLB Brian Cushing has suffered a sprained left knee and will miss the Texans' preseason opener.
Cushing underwent an MRI Tuesday night, but coach Gary Kubiak offered no details beyond "he's going to miss some time." Cushing was at Wednesday's practice in a brace with an ice pack on his knee. Expect an official statement on Cushing's status later today. Source: houstontexans.com
Damn it! Enough with these injuries...he better be back for the 2nd preseason game...really want to see him play!
Other injury Notes:
Texans coach Gary Kubiak hopes to have C Chris Myers (high ankle sprain) back by the third preseason game.
Chris White and third-rounder Antoine Caldwell are getting reps in the meantime. With both Myers and guard Chester Pitts expected to be healthy by Week 1, the Texans will return last year's line intact for the regular season. Source: Houston Chronicle
Texans RB Arian Foster (hamstring) returned to practice on a limited basis Monday.
He's battling Chris Brown and Ryan Moats for the top backup job behind Steve Slaton. Foster was often banged up in college and needs to show durability to secure a roster spot. He's still in pretty good position right now. Source: houstontexans.com
Texans DT Amobi Okoye (knee) has been cleared to play in the preseason.
Okoye's June knee scope was discouraging, but Gary Kubiak has been impressed with the 22-year-old in camp. "He's been brought along the right way," the coach said. Okoye will resume starting at three technique this year. Source: houstontexans.com

Yeah, not sure what “a while” means, but if it’s a fairly typical sprain, I’d say he’s out for most of the pre-season. COMPLETE AND TOTAL AND IRRESPONSIBLE SPECULATION, just so we’re clear.

what the...?
Looks like the antis are jumping all over this. But look at the bright side (for you) this opens a slot for someone else that you would rather have playing that position!
It will happen

I just hope...
Kubes is being extremely cautious with the guys and their injuries. Even though that flies in the face of his “start the season strong” mantra.
There’s still time to get everyone healthy, with good practice time.
Remember, he did learn all the tricks from the sneaky devil Mike Shanny!
