Jerome Solomon: Preaching Patience
This is an excellent read, and Solomon makes some very salient points. He also does a tremendous job feeding me crow. Stupid archives.

Great Article.
I’ve had plenty of arguments with Jerome and I mostly disagree on things that he says about the Texans but I gotta give him credit for that article.
After reading the article
I started reading the comments below.
Big mistake.
Did you know people are still defending David Carr?!??!?!!!!?
I haven’t been living under a rock for the past five years, why was I not aware of this??!!
No Kidding
I read some of those comments earlier, and I had the urge to break something. Where do those people come from?
You know... for kids.
I admit...
I tried to read 2, but couldn’t take anymore. Don’t know why I do it. How are there so many moron posters over there? Always baffles me.
Bacon tastes good... Pork chops taste good.
I read all of them.
And those who were defending Mr Mittens made very good points that almost persuaded me to think twice about calling him a bust…..
NOT.
Well, that explains alot...
Especially how you got crossed up on that other post about TJ and Okoye!
Duder… don’t do that to yourself. You’re better than that!
Bacon tastes good... Pork chops taste good.
Hoisted By My Own Petard
He got me, and he got me good.
Looking forward to a day when being a Texans fan doesn't mean that April is the highlight of my season...
I've gone round and round with Solomon
And really he’s (arguably) the best sportswriter we have (his competition is Richard Justice and John McClain. Z is close but I think I enjoy SOlomons pieces more during the season. Z is good with the draft and fantasy. All in all he can be inflammatory but he puts out some decent stuff. I believe in Okoye.

Great article.
I like his writing too.
Kind of feels good to see some optimism about him. If he has a good year our entire season improves.
ok...i defended panty waist carr
until i saw sage hit the field for a game…when he played and got more accomplished as a back up, than carr did the whole year…that was when i labeled carr as a bust. i bought into the whole “scared of his shadow for all of the sacks he took” comments, and even thought that when they were drafting defense, the organization ought to be drafting offensive linemen …ok….now that being said, i rethought my opinion of that…i agree with the article i just read, i am a big fan of okoye, and pretty much everyone else on the texans team. the play against the saints was just plain bad…but i am reserving solid judgment about the defense until regular season…then the team is on the field for the whole game, with all the gameplans that they are hiding right now. that’s when you are going to get to see the adjustments, whether or not the coaching can make things work with the players they have available…until then, i can’t label anyone (carr and tj excluded) a bust.
ohhhhhhhhhh that's gold!
I’m not going to take some cheap shot at my man Zierlein for how he raved about Okoye on draft day. (If I were, I’d tell you what he wrote when it appeared the Texans might be able to pick him: “Amobi Okoye makes me moist!”)
