Ed Hochuli is the only ref who uses the team names
Instead of “Houston” or “the kicking team” or “the home team”.
This is sickening.

Why is Schaub not allowed to make audibles at the line of scrimage? Seems like
on a couple of plays he should have.
Cushing coming out on 3rd and medium
For someone who was high on Cushing, I feel I have to note that he wasn’t playing three downs.
Probably his injury
and his rookie-ness.

He's savvy
He gets out of trouble, he’s calming down and making accurate throws.
Oh, and our DBs SUUUUUUUUCK!
Frank Okam looks a tad bit slimmer...

I just go back home from running errands and decided to check the score
The Texans are losing 10-0, how tremendously surprising
This is embarrassing
It’s not even close. We haven’t shown even the slightest bit of anything on offense, and our defense is getting killed on third down.
Yet, still, not unexpected. About to be 17-0, and we aren’t even making a DENT on offense.
It’s pretty much over.

Pretty nice save by Cushing.
Not that it matters.
Maybe he'll do it on 4th down one day
Or as the clock expires.
And now
They’re going to start handing the ball off over and over again.
And we’re going to discover that, while we thought our run d had improved, it actually hasn’t.

This is pathetic.
I’m a big Kubiak supporter, but his ass needs to be getting AWFULLY HOT! I don’t care that it’s one game. This team isn’t even ready to play. PATHETIC!
Agree, sadly.

How we repeatedly get these guys in third and long, with a rookie QB and watch him make all the throws?

so it looks like we'll start 0-2
but somehow manage to get back to 8-8 by season’s end.
Sounds familiar.
Smushiak will take us to the playoffs in 2009.
Texans=shit
I shouldve picked up mark Sanchez on my fantasy team. Next week I should start Kerry Collins after this performance so far.
This game is closer than the score looks
One big play (blown McCain coverage) and all the luck going the Jets way fumble-wise.
That said, I hope you’ve all learned that Chris Myers is not going to get it done up front today. We are getting exposed there. If the terrible ball we’ve played against Pitt and Baltimore last year didn’t tell you, we can’t handle the up the gut blitz.
- Rivers McCown, From Mom's Basement
See I disagree that it's closer than it looks
Because the Texans haven’t so much as made a DENT on offense.
Their only positive plays have been desperation dump offs to RBs, and last-second heaves right before Schaub gets planted.

Kubiak taking over playcalling
I am in favor of it now, I think. I thought about it a little bit – doing it today and not following through with it for the rest of the year would only serve to undermine Baby Shan with the team. If Kubiak does it, it has to be for the rest of the year.
They are milking the clock...
this is killing me

After a performance like this...
Kubiak should resign at the post game.
“We installed a good gameplan, but the players didn’t do a damn thing we asked of them. That is why I am resigning as Head Coach, effective immediately. I can’t be arsed working a team of players who individually are talented, but can not work together as a team on game day.

Kubiaks postgame speech
Same as last years postgame speech after the steelers loss.
Knowing him
He will just put a tape on from that exact speech. But by mistake put a victory speech on.
Why are there no AUDIBLES or HOT ROUTES?!!?!??!
Jesus, there’s half the defense lined up to ONE SIDE blitzing, and there’s no hot route? What the flying fuck?

No accountability
Because no one on this team is accountable. Kubiak has packed us with his shitty Denver people and never really been competent but we all get lied to about how great he is.
checkmate!
game set match. they knew once thet got ahead they could unleash the beast….and our o line looks timid and meek.

Can't say enough about how terrible Chris Myers is
I could see if he was really good at line adjustments, but that doesn’t appear to be the case, either.
Also, the crowd is completely out of the game; the defense was feeding off of them. Wind is completely sucked out of the team’s sails.
Highlight of the game for me so far
CBS’s use of Mastodon as music playing under the game highlights.

Is this the end of the Kubiak era? Looks just like last season
Id rather them do worse then 8-8 so we can get this coach fired and have a top ten pick. Lets get Bill Cowher or maybe Mike Holmgrem…
I don't think that changing the coach
Will make anything better
We’ll just end up with another couple of re-building years

I think the main problem is that when this team faces a defense like the Steelers or Ravens, the offense crumbles. That happens to lots of mediocre teams.
So what?
If our offense crumbles against these defenses, then there’s no way we’ll win a super bowl. We have to be able to stand up against these smashmouth teams.
I think we're all agreed
we cannot win a super bowl this year
Smushiak will take us to the playoffs in 2009.
