Dunta writes "Pay Me, Rick" on his shoes
Pro Football Talk - Houston cornerback Dunta Robinson still wants a new contract from the team.
Robinson held out until last week, finally signing his one-year franchise tender in order to play in Week One against the Jets.
He'll make close to $10 million this season, but had a message for Texans general manager Rick Smith on the field.
Robinson wrote "Pay me, Rick," on his shoes, according to Richard Justice of the Houston Chronicle.
After the game, the cornerback laughed off the gesture.
"It's just a reminder that this is what we're here for," Robinson said. "It's to get paid."

Dunta is still alive?
As often as he was torched today, I’m surprised.
Note to self: Insert something witty here.

Apparently
Being the heart and soul of the Texans’ defense, as we’re so often reminded that Dunta is, means that you’re actually a petulant whiny little fuckface bitch cocksmoking cornholing dicklicking motherfucker.
Or something like that.

So...
Is that why Dunta spent so much fucking time during the game on the ground with his shoes in the air, as the receiver went by him?

Not embarrassed?!?
How can you not be embarrassed when you get picked apart by a rookie?…Honestly…we could not win a single game these season…but if we traded Dunta…I would consider it a success

A slap in the face to all of us working stiffs who have given him moral support
I take back all the nice things I said about him handling this situation with class. He has been quoted that it is time to play the game…the game of FOOTBALL, I thought. Instead, he is playing these kinds of games. The more time goes by, and the more he talks, the more he tries to stick it in the face of the management of this team, the more his true character is showing. He just couldn’t help himself. To his detriment, I fear his value to this team is decreasing. That is locker room shenanigans and that is not what this team needs. The Texans do not need this kind of leadership and derision coming from their locker room. I doubt he confided in his agent before pulling this stunt. I am sure that a professional agent would not promote this sort of public display. I find it distasteful. I take back the credit I gave him one week ago.
Then again, maybe, I’m being too judgmental. How many times do I have to give him a second chance?
I suppose if all of the stars, moons and planets align it could be possible, but what are the chances of that?

team first
I would cut his ass, give his money to Ryans and let it be known that team is first!
I played like crap anyway, he is no better than anyone else out there. Let him see how much those other teams want to pay his ass. And pick up someone off of wavers.

rotoworld update
Coach Gary Kubiak said he was “disappointed” to learn that disgruntled CB Dunta Robinson wore “Pay Me” and “Rick” (referring to Texans GM Rick Smith) on his shoes for Sunday’s opener.
Robinson proceeded to get burnt all over the field by a weak Jets wideout corps. “I found out after the game,” Kubiak said. “It’s been dealt with as an organization.” Kubiak said that Robinson will not be suspended.

If Kubes suspends Dunta
Who would play CB? Some patient at St Lukes? No way he can suspend him.

I'm beginning to think Rick Smith made an error of judgment in his dealing with Dunta
Now, I am thinking he should have let Dunta test the RFA waters. At least then, Dunta would have no complaints that he is getting whatever he feels his true value is, PLUS, then Rick Smith could have had the choice to evaluate whatever offer Dunta signed and then choose to match it or walk away and receive some form of compensation for losing him. Now, I fear, because of Dunta’s actions, it will not work out for either party. Dunta has damaged his value and now if he becomes an UFA he will not receive a very good offer, plus, when he signs with another team, the Texans get no return on investment. One thing I hope that doesn’t come out of this is, the Texans should not overpay Dunta just because of the prospects of losing him for no compensation as an UFA.
The team needs stay out of the practice of overpaying for players.

as posted on the chron.....
Cornerback Dunta Robinson apologized on Monday for wearing shoes that read "Pay Me, Rick" during the Texans’ loss to the New York Jets.
The reference was to general manager Rick Smith, who used the franchise designation on Robinson after they failed to reach an agreement on a new long-term contract.
Robinson’s shoes generated controversy among Texans fans in the aftermath of the 24-6 defeat. So did his postgame quote about his shoes.
"It’s just a little reminder for myself what I’m playing for," he said. "It’s a reminder that this is what we’re here for."
‘Regrettable’ incident
On Monday, Robinson explained about the shoes.
"It was regrettable," Robinson said. "I didn’t put that much thought into it. It didn’t mean that much to me. If it offended anybody, I apologize. It wasn’t (meant to be) that serious at all."
After avoiding the Texans in the offseason because he was angry at being the franchise player, Robinson reported last week, signed his one-year tender for $9.957 million and started against the Jets.
"That was something I did a long time ago, and I wore them to the first game," he said. "When I got those shoes three months ago, Rick and I weren’t seeing eye to eye.
"It was all fun and games. I don’t think Rick took it personally. It wasn’t meant that way. If I had thought it would bring some negativity in here (locker room), I wouldn’t have put them on. The guys laughed about it.
"I won’t wear them again. I guess it rubbed people the wrong way, and I don’t want to be in that situation again."
Wrong message
Owner Bob McNair wasn’t happy about Robinson’s shoes or his postgame comment.
"I don’t agree with it because it sends the wrong message," McNair said. "It bothers me because I thought he had put that behind him. I didn’t get in this business to make money; I got in to win a championship. I want our players to feel the same way."
Coach Gary Kubiak didn’t know about Robinson’s shoes until after the game.
"I’m disappointed, but it’s been dealt with between me, Rick and Dunta, and we’re moving on," Kubiak said.
"If you're an asshole, you're gonna come back as a cockroach or a worm or a fuckin' anal bead, okay? If you're a man and you act heroic, you'll come back as an eagle. You'll come back as a dragon."
