Chester Pitts To Miss Three To Four Weeks
For the first time in Texans franchise history, Chester Pitts will not take the field next Sunday. Pitts suffered a strained medial collateral ligament against the Titans in the first half of todays 34-31 Houston victory.
He is now listed to be out three to four weeks, but thinks he will be back sooner than that. "I have Wolverine blood in me, so I’ll heal faster than that," Pitts joked with the media. "I’d trade my knee for a win like this any day," he added.
The injury brings his consecutive games played streak to a halt at 114. Let’s wish him a speedy recovery.

Seriously, though...
That’s a tough break. Studdard played well, but you gotta love Pitts.
Note to self: Insert something witty here.

Tough break for the likeable guy
Fortunate it is not more serious. Good chance for Studdard to prove he belongs, or maybe Caldwell gets some reps.
It took the Astros 44 years to get to the Series, the Oilers-Texans are due to get to the big dance...Go Texans!!!!!

So this is good news in my book. Hopefully Caldwell can start now.

That's because we had a fresh body in against a worn out D-Line...
…You may notice a difference when Studdard/Casey have to go a full game next week.

Titans
rotate 8 guys in and out of their line so they wern’t that worn out. O-line did a good job this week and hopefully they can keep it going against the Jags.

Reps
This is a very good tryout period for Studdard and possibly Caldwell, since it’s very unlikely that we will re-sign Pitts this coming off-season. Just sayin.

CAll me ignorant, but...
Why not? What would stop us from re-signing him for a another couple of years?
by distant_texans_fan on Sep 21, 2009 2:04 PM CDT up reply actions 0 recs
two things...
He’s getting a little old, and he’s going to probably ask for some decently big coin, due to this being his likely last chance at a big payday.
He’s a great guy, and an awesome story, but he’s (a) part of that interior line that desperately needs an upgrade, (b) not good enough for us to use too much cap space on, and © going to be coming off a knee injury (albeit, not a tear, but I needed a “c”).
It wouldn’t bother me if they brought him back, but Rick sure better mind the purse strings if so.

Gotta love Pitts!
Those are some awesome quotes, too. What an attitude that guy has! Here’s to a speedy recovery!

also add
come prepared (coaching), play physical, and commit no turnovers and then I can see us at 3-1. Jags and Raiders aren’t pushovers and remember we lost to the Raiders last year – we over looked them and we can’t do that again this year. We need to stay focused and if we do we will win a lot of games this year.
